New Yorkers Suicide City didn't get serious until 2005 with the release of their debut EP "Not My Year" that launched the band to craft dark yet volatile punk with progressive heavy metal rock music that would lead them to tour then get signed to Brooklyn label The End Records four years later. Releasing their debut full length "Frenzy" (2009) but before this debut even hit the streets the band had released a live DVD “Live From CBGB” in 2008 which was shot at the popular music club CBGB before it shut down.
Suicide City is caught on film in one of their most explosive performances ever done. Shot in black light fashion with black and white moments cut and pasted here and there this uncut, uncensored, live show really captures their stage presence in an unforgivable fashion. Frontman Karl Bernholtz's hair illuminated the glow of the stage adding his crazy built-in ability of insanity that keeps the energy pumping.
"Start the Show" opens the show while the rest of their showcase consists of such singles as "Fuck Your Dreams", "Cutter', and "Give Me Your Pitty". Whilst additional double treat of covers by Mindless Self Indulgence and The Cure, having a remixed version of Mindless Self Indulgence's "Straight to Video" and The Cure's "Burn", provides a unique in-sight to their originality.
Also included on the DVD are the band's two music videos for “Give My Your Pitty”, and “Undone, with a gallery and home movie footage capturing that behind the scenes montage of precious moments.
Suicide City’s live DVD packs in the intensity that is only the beginning.
