Cattle Decapitation - Monolith of Inhumanity

Cattle Decapitation now that's a name that’s crossed my mind more than once but haven't really heard much of their material except for a few releases let alone, ever seeing them perform there is little to go on for me except that they're a part of the Metal Blade Records family and are about to release their seventh full-length entitled "Monolith of Inhumanity".

This time around the band has taken their music to a whole new level of aggression, determination, and focus to be heard from the inside out. Opening up with "The Carbon Stampede", this tune really packs that powerful punch that these guys have been known for except it unleashes even further more intensity, horrifying, and even extreme circumstances than 2009's "The Harvest Floor" ever did. "Dead Set On Suicide", "Forced Gender Reassignment", "Lifestalker", and "Your Disposal", are all some of the tunes to look out for because their extremeness is heavy flawless material that will burst out from your skeletal system in a micro second.

Cattle Decapitation goes on to say this in regards to this accomplishment of theirs, “The mindset of this band has always been abrasive and balls to the wall, and like a car accident where there’s no fucking stopping it. Throwing melodic vocals or guitar work – or dare we say catchy elements – into that is tantalizing,” says frontman Travis Ryan. While guitarist Josh Elmore says “There can be hooks and catchiness without compromising what the band – or any individual in the band – is all about.” Having these elements at our disposal is just another tool with which we can build the best songs that we can. It was great also having input from Derek (Engemann, bass, who makes his writing and recording debut with this album), who added some new dynamics to some of the songs. We also spent a lot of time thinking about structure on this record, wanting every moment to count, no matter what the tone of it was.”

So in all this is without a doubt a release that Cattle Decapitation fans new and old alike can devour and fall head over heels for.
