July 2012

Get Scared have been hard at work writing and recording for their ALL NEW album entitled "Built For Blame, Laced With Shame" coming out August 28th on Grey Area Records. Producer Erik Ron whose done work with acts such as Panic At The Disco, Foxy Shazam, and Versaemerge is the man behind this piece. This release will feature brand new vocalist Joel Faviere who replaced former vocalist Nicholas Matthews. Check out the album artwork below!

Los Angeles, Californians EVOLOVE a blend of of the pop and core genres being led by vocalist Lucy Levinsohn will unleash their debut full-length album "Acoustic Sessions Vol. 1" late this summer. This release will consist of four all new songs "3 Cheers", "Everything's Falling", "The Dream", and "Spare Me", all of which have been stripped down versions off their previos debut "2012: Countdown to the End" with other tracks from their EP "Breaking Heartstrings". Aside from this the band has been crossing the road over the last few months playing showcases left and right and now the frontwomen of the group Lucy Levinsohn discusses with me this new release as well as details on who inspires the group, how there writing style develops and just what more we can expect to see develop between now and the end of this year.

1. Can you give us a brief history as to how EVOLOVE got it's name and came to be a band?

Lucy: Honestly, it just kind of came to me.  I was thinking up band names and I got this concept in my mind of using the word “Love” and creating a Palindrome.  Over the years, we have come up with our own definition of what that band name means.  EVOLOVE is the all encompassing love we have for music.  It is the force that brings us together, and it is the tie that bonds us all.  The story behind how we became a band is that bassist Billy Berman and I had already been in 2 previous bands before EVOLOVE.  When we decided to form this band we hit the internet first, a very common way to find band mates these days. We met our guitar players Dave Corsile and Colby Jensen through Craigslist.  Andrew Carroll, our newest member, was a gift from our last tour.  Our former drummer decided to bail just weeks before we were set for a 2-month National Tour, and we asked a HUGE favor of Andrew.  We were touring with his band, and we asked him if he could fill in for us all tour.  For 2 months, he played 2 sets a night just to help us out.  By the time we came back home, we were family. He joined our band shortly after.

2. What type of band are you?

Lucy: We call ourselves Pop-Core.  There are so many genres and sub-genres these days its hard to keep up but I think Pop-Core helps define us.  We like using elements of Rock and even Hard Core but our Pop sensibility is always at the forefront of our sound.

3. Tell me about your upcoming release "Acoustic Sessions Vol. 1" why did you want to go the acoustic route?

Lucy: We have performed several acoustic shows for Hot Topic and fans have always enjoyed hearing us in that setting.  This record was done as a gift to them.

4. How do you think your songs will transform into the acoustic format?

Lucy: They sound GREAT!  A lot of rock music hides behind amps and special effects but with acoustic music there is nowhere to hide.  It’s just about the song. Personally I love being able to break it down like this.

5. Who writes the songs, what are they about?

Lucy: We write as a group.  The guys write the music and I write the lyrics.  Generally, someone will come in with an idea and then we will all massage it and add our own elements to it until we are happy with the result.  The lyrics I write are basically about life.  I am heavily influenced by what is going on around me.

6. Who are your musical and non-musical influences?

Lucy: My influences are pretty diverse. I grew up listening to classic artists that my parents turned me onto like The Beatles, Bob Marley, Madonna, and David Bowie.  I grew up loving grunge bands like Pearl Jam and Nirvana.  I also loved Tom Petty, Tori Amos, U2, Alanis Morissette, and No Doubt.  Today I listen to everything from Adele and Lady Gaga to Rise Against and Coldplay.  I like to keep my ears and mind open.  As far as non-musical influences go, I am always influenced by the world around me and what is currently happening.

7. How do you promote your band and shows?

Lucy: We use all the regular means of promotion; word of mouth, Facebook, and our email list.  We try to keep ourselves out on the scene and create shows with our friends because bands helping bands is very important. Cross promotion is an invaluable tool.

8. Describe your show, visual and musically for us.

Lucy: Our show is SUPER high energy and fun.  We like to keep the fans entertained.  As long as we are having a great time, they are generally having a great time too.

9. What inspires you to do what you do?

Lucy: Insanity! I only say that because this is a very hard business, and because I’m slightly crazy.  It sounds cliché but I never chose to do music, music chose me.

10. What advice would you give to fellow bands?

Lucy: Work hard, stay motivated, and prepare to do everything yourself.  You can not rely on everything going your way or people handing you opportunities.  The more you can create for yourself, the more you will have in the end.

11. How does music affect you and the world around you?

Lucy: That’s a hard question to answer because my whole world is music.  I have a hard time separating where music begins and I end.

12. Anything else you'd like to say or add?

Lucy: Thank you for taking the time to interview me.  We always appreciate these types of opportunities.  People can find us online at:

Due to the continued incarceration of LAMB OF GOD singer Randy Blythe in the Czech Republic, the band’s co-headline tour with Dethklok scheduled to begin August 1st in Seattle is being cancelled.  The band regrets the decision but the uncertainty of Randy’s release makes it impossible to carry on with the tour.  Upon Randy’s release, it is the band’s intention to rebook a tour in the fall and at this time the band fully intends to participate in the Mayhem Cruise in December.

LAMB OF GOD wishes to thank Dethklok, Adult Swim and Gojira for their support and patience as well as all of the promoters who had dates on the tour.  Last but certainly not least, the band thanks all of the fans who bought tickets for the tour and who have been supportive of Randy and the band over the last month that Randy has been held in Prague.  Without the fans, there is no LAMB OF GOD.

ADULT SWIM STATEMENT REGARDING UPCOMING TOUR:

In light of circumstances beyond our control, the upcoming Dethklok and Lamb of God with Gojira summer tour has been canceled. Refunds will be available to customers who already purchased tickets through their point of purchase. We thank Dethklok fans for their continued support and look forward to releasing information about the band's upcoming third album and a planned fall tour in the coming weeks.

Canadian metalcore act Blessed by a Broken Heart nine yeard run is standing strong with lead guitarist "Shred" Sean Maier, bassist Tyler Hoare and drummer Slater. But since this July Tony Gambino would be stepping down and new vocalist Sam Ryder would be taking over. With that the new has been hard at work writing, recording, an all new release called "Feel the Power" via Tooth & Nail Records. New frontman Sam Ryder discusses with me the goals they had for this release, writing style this time around, and if any pressure was lifting off those rock hard shoulders.

1. Tell me about the name Blessed by a Broken Heart. What does it symbolize for the band?

Sam: It's a warning to kids - "choose you band name wisley because you MAY live to regret it..."

2. What type of band are you?

Sam: Rock n' Roll from 3 different countries.

3. Tell us the brief history of your band.

Sam: Haha, there ain't no such thing as a short history of Blessed. But I'll start from where I joined, let me take you on a journey kids: I met the guys when they were on tour with Enter Shikari in the UK, I became a huge fan so I started messaging the guys on Myspace and next thing I know, my band got a support slot on their next UK tour. I remember coming home from work one night and Slater calling me saying "Dude, we need you to fill in on guitar for us, Joel can't make the tour." Of course I was like "Yeah man, no worries." Two tours "filling in" later i'm in the band...6 months later, I'm writing the record...1 year later, I'm the new singer. It's absolutely mental how things work out.

4. Who are your musical and non-musical influences?

Sam: Well right now, I'm listening to Toby Keith and about to record an Earth Wind and Fire cover!  I like anything written well with good melody, harmony and feeling. Outside of music? I'm influenced my travel, culture, friends, positive living, snowboarding, cold beer with my friends and love from my family.

5. Who writes the songs, what are they about?

Sam: Me, Sean and Ian. They're about everything I've just said above. The finer things in life.

6. What types of songs do you write what theme do they cover?

Sam: All around I always want to be positive in my song writing. I have nothing to be mad or cynical about. I have the best buds in the world, a great family, an opportunity to play music around the world and a means to write songs for other artists. I'm not totally there yet, but I'll send you a postcard when I am.

7. How does your new album 'Feel The Power" differ from your last release?

Sam: More harmonies, more Heavy Metal, more party vibes and more power flange...

8. Are you using any new instruments this time around?

Sam: No new instruments, just a bunch of different sounds and amps. Seriously, we had a room FULL of amps. Oh and we used the Skype 'ringing sound'...Does that count as an instrument?

9. Who produced the album? How has the producer aided the recording process?

Sam: James Paul Wisner. I'd like to thank that dude for making better muscians out of us and for going 1000 extra miles.

10. Where did you record the album?

Sam: St. Cloud, Florida - Shuttle launches, Mickey Mouse, Gators and good times.

11. How would you describe the overall sound of the new album?

Sam: Like an atom bomb with a singing voice.

12. Did the band have any definitive goals they were shooting for before the recording process began for this album?

Sam: Our goals were to sit down, hang out, play guitars and make a rock and roll record. No tactics, just music.

13. When did you start writing for this album?

Sam: We've been writting bits and pieces since we've been a band, some make the record and some get worked on and saved for another time. I guess you could say we've already started writing our 4th, 5th and maybe even 6th record!

14. Did you feel any pressure for a follow-up?

Sam: None at all. Stressing gets you nowhere. We knew we might lose some fans, we knew we were gonna make some. We just rode with it and focused on making songs.

15. How do you promote your band and shows?

Sam: We count on turning everyone that comes through the door into a fan. We bring the biggest show to the smallest venue and word of mouth does the rest.

16. Can you describe your show, visually and musically for us?

Sam: Laser beams melting your face off, more smoke than the fire of London and the 5 most average looking dudes in your town. The show is hectic, like throwing a tank into a bathtub...Oh, and the music has been known to blow your nuts clean off.  Don't miss it.

17. How does music affect you and the world around you?

Sam: Music expresses what we litterally can't. Not just us but everyone on the planet. Think about what music is...try and explain it yourself. Some say it's "everything," but they're lying - it's much more than that.

18. What inspires you to do what you do?

Sam: Respect from other musicians.

19. What advice would you give to fellow bands?

Sam: Do everything you can in music. You only get one chance in life to leave your mark so never turn down an opportunity. TAKE THOSE BLINKERS OFF.

20. What are the biggest obstacles for bands?

Sam: Girlfriends.

21. Anything else you'd like to say or add?

Sam: Be excellent to each other.

All-American anthemic rockers Drowning Pool have confirmed, after much speculation, that fellow Texan Jasen Moreno is their new lead singer. Moreno, who is currently on tour with the band, joined Drowning Pool early this Spring, following the departure of their former lead singer. In an exclusive interview in the September 2012 issue of Guitar World magazine, guitarist C.J. Pierce explains, "Jasen came up in the same Dallas scene as us... We brought him in to sing, and he nailed it."

Moreno said, "I am extremely happy and very grateful to be a part of the Drowning Pool family. Everyone's been so welcoming, especially the fans. I can't praise them enough. They've made me feel right at home. This first run of live shows couldn't have gone any better!"

Pierce adds, "It's been a pleasure working with Jasen. He's everything we hoped for in a singer and he jumped right in, stepped up to the plate and got straight to work. Jasen has brought not only a new voice but a new fire to the Drowning Pool sound and we can't wait to share the new music with everyone."

Drowning Pool turned the world into believers with their breakthrough single "Bodies" in 2001. Ten years, four singers and four albums later, they're giving fans a new reason to believe.  "Feel Like I Do," the lead single from their self-titled fourth studio release [Eleven Seven Music], became the band's biggest radio hit to date, reaching No. 2 at Active Rock Radio, and remaining in the Top 5 for 12-weeks.  With 2009's "37 Stitches" off of Full Circle reaching #4 at Active Rock and "Feel Like I Do," the band had 2 consecutive Top 5 Active Rock smashes and cemented their place as one of the top hard rock acts today. The band's sophomore album, Desensitized with second singer Jason Jones spawned a Top 10 hit with "Step Up." Recent successes have paved the way for unique opportunities such as presenting the Lane Evans Mental Health Care Reform to then-senator Barack Obama on Capitol Hill, performing for our troops all over the world and partnering with organizations like The Wounded Warrior Project and the G.I. Film Festival.

Drowning Pool's fifth album and their first with Moreno is due out early 2013. The band teamed up with producer Kato Khandwalla at House of Loud Studios in New Jersey earlier this year, and will be finishing the album in Dallas.

Drowning pool is C.J. Pierce - guitar/ vocals, Stevie Benton - bass/vocals, Mike Luce - drums/vocals and Jasen Moreno/vocals.

Endless Coma has been around for sometime now writing and recording music, playing showcases the whole works. Now the band talks to me about their history, music scene, song writing, musical influences, and much more!

1. What type of band are you?

For us the most important thing is that our ideas get through to people, and this is more important than the actual band itself. We want to prove that it is possible to express ourselves artistically when we have something to communicate. We just started, we have lots of things to say, and we want to do it in front of a big audience. The best has yet to come..

2. Tell us the brief history of your band.

Many things have happened since the project first started, we could write a book with everything that we've been through. Anyway, briefly we can say that the band was born when the singer Dark Priest and the bass player Nick Franz met for the first time in 2008. From then on we changed band members many times, and the product of that confusion was our first EP "Endless Coma". The real turnover was when we decided to record our debut album in a real recording studio, and especially thanks to Sal Alexander, who came in as our new guitarist right in that moment, and gave us the right impulse and helped our musical growth in general.

3. Where is the band from and what is the music scene like there, any bands you'd recommend?

Right now our base is in the north-east of Italy, near Venice. There's a huge musical depression here, and it probably couldn't get any worse. There are many bands, but only very few of these are slightly original in what they do and have the courage to be themselves. Luckily we won't be here much longer, by the end of 2012 we will move to London where the musical scene is much more alive.

4. What are your songs about? (What specific themes do they cover?)

The songs are about various subjects but they are all connected with each other really. Inner fear, the frustration of who isn't able to connect with a reality that has no logic to it, the anger that has built up in us by living in a world that represents nobody. All of these themes are in our songs, and many people will be able to relate to them.

5. Do you write your own songs? Can you discuss the songwriting process in detail.

Of course we do! The creative process that is behind our songs is quite unique. Thanks to all the technology we have available we write down everything we have in mind in a very instinctive way (Nick Franz is a real master in this), after that we spend a huge amount of time refining each song in every detail. Then the songs are ready to be recorded.

6. Who are your musical influences?

We each have different musical influences, and this is a huge bonus when we compose. Dark Priest has always been into rock-industrial music, Nick Franz on the other hand appreciates nu-metal mostly, while Sal Alexander is more into progressive metal, hard rock and jazz-fusion. All these different genres enhance the bands ideas and we manage to convoy everything into our own personal style.

7. How do "Endless Coma" and "Rising Rage" differ?

They aren't even remotely comparable. The first EP was our first brief experience that made us realize there was great potential, and since then the potential has grown tremendously.

"Rising Rage" is the first raw punch we actually delivered to the public, just to let you know that you must be ready, because there's more to come!

8. Since you've released "Rising Rage" it's reached all of the major music stores iTunes, Amazon, etc. How does it feel that people from all around the world can have a chance at hearing what you guys do?

We still haven't grasped this idea yet, mainly due to the worldwide musical depression we're in right now, and also because in Italy we are more in contact with the negative side of our work. But this doesn't demotivate us, our objective is always the same: reach out to as many people as possible, give them the chance to listen to our music and follow us.

9. What does the title "Rising Rage" refer too is this release a concept album?

The rage in this album is that of a young person, that hasn't been contaminated by this world's reality yet.
This anger is in a lot of people, and starts off at a very young age, and sooner or later it will explode in some way. There is no way of stopping a rising rage when everything that surrounds us just makes it worse.
"Rising Rage" is every one of you, when you used to sit in your bedroom full of fears.

10. Who approach who when it came down to you guys getting signed? Did you celebrate once the deal was done?

Sal Alexander got in contact with our label, after we got signed we were pleased because only a couple of months had gone by since we finished recording Rising Rage, but we didn't celebrate in any way because we knew this was not going to take us immediately as far as we wanted due to the musical crisis, but it's certainly a first step.

11. How do you describe your music to people?

We prefer not to describe our music, listening to it is really the only way to understand it and grasp what our emotions were when we recorded it. Translating thoughts into notes is our best way of telling people what we have inside.

12. What are your upcoming tour plans and plans in general for Endless Coma?

Right now we are 100% focused on moving to London in the next few months. As soon as we get settled there we will finally let Endless Coma free and our musical career can finally start. We will also start playing songs off of our second album that we will start recording quite soon.

13. What image do you think your music conveys?

Our music and our image are simply who we are, what we want to be. There's no escape, if you like our music it's because you like us, and if you hate us….it will be for the same reason.

14. Anything else you'd like to say or add?

Yes… Fuck off Italy, fuck off Europe and fack off America!!!

Metal Blade is proud to announce the signing of Holland's best kept secret over the past 24 years! AntropomorphiA is legion to Death Metal lunatics of the underground and will infect soon enough all worshippers of classical Death Metal and bands such as BOLT THROWER, GRAVE and AUTOPSY as well as newer high class acts as BLOODBATH or HAIL OF BULLETS.

AntropomorphiA was created under the influence from bands such as Hellhammer/Celtic Frost, Infernäl Mäjesty and Bathory in a tiny town in Holland in 1989.

Over the years they got more and more brutal, released several demos and the Necromantic Love Songs MCD in 1993, but went on a hiatus in the late 90s since other bands became more important.

Fast forward 2009 when other projects moved into the background, AntropomorphiA got re-activated. The line-up is still the same, original members, F (vox/guitar), M (drums), S (bass) form the trinity that is AntropomorphiA till this day.

In early 2011 AntropomorphiA made their first live appearance since 2001 at the Neurotic Deathfest where they put up a convincing brutal show.

At the end of 2011 most of the new record was recorded and the band is taking their time to make sure this album is something more, something huge, resulting in Evangelivm Nekromantia - an album consisting of nine tracks, divided into three chapters of each three songs. Lyrically driven by nekrophilae, murder, necromancy and necrolesbian lust. Mastered at Necromorbus Studios by Tore Stjerna.

Comments AntropomorphiA on the deal with Metal Blade and what to expect from Evangelivm Nekromantia: "We are very proud to have our album coming out through such a renowned metal label as Metal Blade. Metal Blade has a rich history and houses some amazing bands so to become a part of that family feels great. We've been working on this conception for almost a year. Dedicated to composing a new sort of disturbing death metal darkness exceeding most of the one-dimensional releases you got to hear most of these days!"

Evangelivm Nekromantia will be released October, 19th/22nd via Metal Blade Records in Europe on CD and LP and on digitally in North America on October 23rd.

The shocking artwork as well as the first song of this unholy Death Metal cult called AntropomorphiA will be released over the next few weeks.

With their third release, The Future Again secured tightly under their belt, progressive metalcore outfit A HERO A FAKE will be co-headlining The Me Gusta Tour with California’s MUREAU, starting September 7 in Barrington, Illinois. Support will come from LIFE AS A GHOST and the tour will take place throughout the Midwest and East Coast, hitting major cities such as Poughkeepsie, Providence, Trenton, Richmond, Columbia, Tampa and Orlando before wrapping up in South Bend, Indiana on September 29.

Multi-platinum pop-rock band BOYS LIKE GIRLS have announced they’ll embark on a coast-to-coast co-headlining national tour with THE ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS, kicking off September 13 in Hampton Beach, NH. The tour--with support from The Ready Set and Parachute--will give BOYS LIKE GIRLS fans the opportunity to hear new material from their full length album CRAZY WORLD, due out this fall on Columbia Records. Three songs from the LP--“Be Your Everything,” “Life Of The Party” and “The First Time”--can be heard now as the CRAZY WORLD EP is exclusively available on iTunes. Fans who purchase the EP will get the full length album at a discounted price upon its release as part of iTunes “Complete My Album.”

"I've always been a big fan of The All-American Rejects and couldn't be more delighted to be sharing the stage with them this fall," BOYS LIKE GIRLS frontman MARTIN JOHNSON says. "I think it's going be a great time for both the fans and bands alike. Looking forward to a really great couple of months."

Coming off sales of 1.17 million albums and 8 million tracks worldwide, BOYS LIKE GIRLS recently debuted an artful lyric video for their new single “Be Your Everything.” The video can be seen HERE. Meanwhile, the official music video, conceptualized by JOHNSON, will be released in the coming weeks and features actress Allie Gonino of ABC Family’s “The Lying Game.”

About the song “Be Your Everything,” JOHNSON says, "It's a great transition from where the band was. We came from a wall of guitars, and the sound has evolved.” He adds: “The only time I really express my feelings is when I'm writing music. That's how it's been since I was a little kid. This song is about the moment when it becomes okay to say, I love you."

BOYS LIKE GIRLS--singer/songwriter/guitarist MARTIN JOHNSON, drummer JOHN KEEFE, lead guitarist PAUL DIGIOVANNI and bassist MORGAN DORR--are known for JOHNSON’s resonant vocals and their soaring melodies in sharp, moving songs. CRAZY WORLD--the band’s first album in three years--confidently builds on their signature sound with an array of non-stop hooks.

“Crazy World takes you to a different place,” JOHNSON explains. “That was the point. Everything is so hyperactive and the digital distractions can be overwhelming. Step aside in this Crazy World and experience the things that truly matter."

Intergalactic Mutant Overlords GWAR, are plotting their return to the road this fall.  Taking a break from working on their new album as well as an extended arctic slumber, GWAR is back with an entirely new show.  Your lords and masters will be wreaking havoc across North America, with support coming from DevilDriver, Cancer Bats and Legacy of Disorder.  The tour is currently scheduled to kick off October 12th in Philadelphia, PA and run through November 26th in Millvale, PA.  More dates are expected to be added in the coming weeks.  Tickets go on sale this Friday July 27th and Saturday July 28th.

When asked for comment on the upcoming tour, GWAR front-thing Oderus Urungus muttered something incoherent, then when prodded a bit more muttered something else incoherent.  After the third attempt for comment something more intelligible came from the mouth of the warty one:

Said Lord Oderus, "Once again GWAR returns, hoof and nail, to our old stomping grounds, North America, on a tour of utter destruction, and this time nothing less than the greatest power in the universe will do as our primary victim! That's right, this time GWAR, fresh from our battle with Death, takes on another of history's biggest assholes...God himself! Seeing as we don't have the new album done yet, we really had to do something spectacular..."

Oderus belched out a midget and continued. "This tour will also see the arrival of a new Scumdog brother to aid GWAR in our quest to destroy everything that sucks. That's right, I can finally reveal certain details regarding our new album...ever since our missing band mate Flattus Maximus took his leave of Earth, members of the Maximus tribe have been showing up at our Antarctic fortress, not only to pay their respects but also eat all of our food. And also lay tracks on the new album! You see, every member of the Maximus family rips on guitar (though Flattus taught them all they know), and they were anxious to help us fill the void left by Flattus. We have been working with his brothers Pustulus, Infecticus, Bubonus and even the shunned Corpulus...and right now they are fighting it out as to which one of them will stay here with the mighty GWAR for the "FATE OR CHAOS" Tour...and beyond! Get ready world, this fall shall see the birth of a new Scumdog!"

Before GWAR takes to the road this fall, they are of course hosting the premiere event of the Summer, the 3rd Annual GWAR-B-Q.  Ring Dog Rescue and Slave Pit Inc. are proud to present the 2012 GWAR-B-Q, being held Aug. 18th at Hadad's Water Park in lovely Richmond, Va.! Tickets are available online at www.gwarbq.com or you can pick up physical tickets at Plan 9 Records in Carytown or Vinyl Conflict Records in Oregon Hill.  Bands on the bill include: GWAR, The Casualties, Strike Anywhere, Valient Thor, Ghoul and a host of other killer bands.  For more info, be sure to visit www.gwarbq.com.

GWAR will also be performing at this year's RiotFest in Chicago, IL on September 15th.  Around that show, GWAR will be playing three special dates with The Casualties providing support.

Eighteen years strong industrial metal act Static X has seen better days. Touring all over the world having various line-up changes and then some caused the band to take a hiatus in 2009. In which this would lead frontman Wayne Static to fly solo doing his thing as he had always dreamed of. But now the time has come to bring back the X in Static X. Frontman Wayne Static discussing his band’s comeback, current touring plans, and just how good it is to be back in business.

1. For the people who may not know who Static X is can you give us a brief summary?

Wayne: I’m not sure I think everyone has at least heard of me at this point. But if you never listen to heavy music at all in which case you probably wouldn’t be interested, in any case we started off in the 90s came out with my first record in 99 sold millions of records, toured the world, all of that stuff so if you like heavy music at all I’m sure you’ve heard of Static X.

2. Can you tell me the reason why you wanted to go and call the band Static X?

Wayne: It’s kind of funny I’m a big Star Trek geek so I thought Static Warp Field was cool so I shortened it to Static then added the X later on to have it sound experimental, is what we were doing in the 90s when creating a new sound we call “evil disco”.

3. Static X has been a band for 18 years how does this make you feel?

Wayne: We’ve accomplished a lot I’ve been through a lot personally, keeping the band running, line-up changes, and a few years off, did the solo project in 2009-2011 did some touring then. But now I just want to get back into doing Static X again. Right now we just want to go back on tour and have a good time.

4. How's the solo career going for you?

Wayne: My solo record turned out awesome everyone loved it. It was something I wanted to do for a long time. It’s been awarding for me to do it all by myself not having to comprise or anything like that, I just worked with myself and an engineer in the studio spent a lot of time making it. The fans loved it now I’m focusing on Static X again on this current tour that just started.

5. Have you ever thought about changing your name to Wayne Static?

Wayne: No that is my real legal name.

6. Why did you decide that now would be the time to reform Static X?

Wayne: It seemed like the right thing to do. I wanted to get out before the summer was over and tour. We got some big show offers and seemed like the right time to get everyone back together building a tour around it made sense.

7. How long does it take for you to get your hair into the style that you’re known to have?

Wayne: It takes zero time it’s only a weekly thing and it ends up staying like that.

8. You're going on tour towards the end of this summer touring alongside Prong who you said has been a huge influence to you, how does it feel to get the chance to tour alongside an act that has inspired you to do what you do?

Wayne: It’s really cool they’re going to be joining us in another week due to not being able to be with us at the start of it. But its rad Tommy is a great guitar player and it’ll be cool to have him out with us.

9. Will we be seeing new music from your solo career or Static X?

Wayne: Yeah I’m always writing so I’ve had a few months off from the last tour so I always have ideas for new music. I’m guessing maybe next year something will surface just unsure on whether it will be Static  X or my solo project. But expect to hear some new stuff soon.

10. What advice would you give to bands who want to do what you do?

Wayne: Don’t quit your day job. But it’s a real different world now than when I started back in the 90s with the industry heavy bands getting signed to major labels, making money but now it’s getting harder and harder and music is underground again. So if you’re going to do it make sure you do it for the right reasons and have a good time because the chances to make it is getting less and less because of the internet having changed how everything works these days.

11. What inspires you do to what you do?

Wayne: I just can’t help but do it. I have always been that way and if you ask that question to anyone else you’d get the same answer. The music just inspires you and everything else as well all day being able to write songs just give me ideas to make music and I just love doing it.

12. Have you ever thought of playing a prank on the audience?

Wayne: I think they would be rather confused by that. I’m not a fan of pranks and the audience isn’t aware of what’s going on when other bands on the tour do the pranks anyway. For me I want to give the audience a blazing full on evil disco set just blowing their minds with the music that they could possibly think of hearing is what I like to do.

13. What can we expect to hear from your set list on this tour?

Wayne: Yeah I always try to cover everything with this tour we're playing stuff off the first two records "Wisconsin Death Trip" and "Machine" 6 songs off each but I always try to include a little bit of everything.

14. We got this tour but what more can we see from Static X for 2012?

Wayne: We’re working on more U.S. dates this current leg ends September 2nd  so we’ll be heading back out in every other town staying out until October after a little break. Then take another break for the end of the year and pick up again in the New Year so right now it’s all about touring.

15. Is there anything else you'd like to say or add?

Wayne: No that’s about it just come on out to a show and have a good time.

The Parallax II: Future Sequence, which clocks in at approximately 72 minutes, features artwork from Charlotte, North Carolina artist and designer Chandler Owen (Underoath, Shai Hulud, and Hopesfall). The group – TOMMY ROGERS (vocals / keyboards), PAUL WAGGONER (guitar), DUSTIE WARING (guitar), BLAKE RICHARDSON (drums / percussion) DAN BRIGGS (bass) - are currently touring as direct support to Cannibal Corpse on The Summer Slaughter Tour 2012, which kicked off with a sold out show at the House of Blues in Hollywood on July 20th.

Regarding the concept of The Parallax II: Future Sequence, the new full-length album picks up where the 2011 EP, The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues, left off. "The two main characters of the story take on a journey through space and time with the unenviable task of having to cure the flaws of humanity by any means necessary. While the EP served mostly as an introduction to the characters, Future Sequence contains the action of the story. The lyrics are written in the stream of consciousness style, which really helps to capture the perspective and emotion of the characters. We really enjoyed the challenge of writing this record, and I think we were all pleasantly surprised with how well the music and lyrics jived with one another. I couldn't be happier with how Future Sequence turned out," comments guitarist Paul Waggoner.

Vocalist and keyboardist Tommy Rogers adds his thoughts on the musical direction of The Parallax II: Future Sequence. "This album is BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME on steroids. I feel like we have created an album that perfectly mirrors the band we've been trying to create since day one. An album that has sounds that will stimulate many genres and music fans alike. A conceptual journey that takes the listener to worlds that seem familiar and worlds that make you scratch your head. From start to finish this is music we want to create, not music we think people want us to create. We create songs that keep us (and hopefully you) excited about heavy music. Keep listening… something new will be there each time. Enjoy the music… we enjoyed writing it."
