It's that time of year again. The "fall" the time of essence where it's back to school, summer is done and over with, and best of all.... the holiday fun-zone! Holiday's lined-up one after the other with Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day - everyone who's anyone has gotten into the season including Deception Of A Ghost! Percussionist Bryan Sain discusses his holiday surprises in this special holiday interview!

1. What are you doing for the holidays?

Bryan: Well, we are on tour for Thanksgiving with Affiance, Sirens And Sailors, and Everyone Dies In Utah!

2. This Halloween season I did what?

Bryan: This Halloween season I worked. We had 3 weeks in between tours so I worked and saved as much money as I could.

3. Did you dress up this year?

Bryan: I did not. Bummer.

4. What is your favorite Halloween candy or treat?

Bryan: My favorite is Reese cups. Hands down the best shit ever.

5. What are you thankful for?

Bryan: I am thankful for my family, my friends, my girlfriend, my band mates, everyone on this tour package for being so awesome and spending Thanksgiving with us.

6. Do you have a favorite dish for Thanksgiving or do you enjoy everything?

Bryan: I recently became vegetarian so I had to give up the ham and turkey. So I would say stuffing is my favorite and my favorite dessert is my granny's sweet potato casserole. It's the bomb!

7. Who's the one who eats the most when it comes to the holiday season?

Bryan: I would say probably Kyle. When we go to a buffet or a family dinner, he seriously eats until it hurts. Kinda hurts us to watch him eat that much, haha.

8. Do you or have you gone shopping on Black Friday, if so what did you find and buy?

Bryan: I have, but not this year. I actually went last year and bought a thing or two for a couple family members. But I once stood in line at Best Buy to buy my sister a laptop and ended up just dodging punches two ladies were throwing at each other. And I didn't get the laptop, so boned.

9. When it comes to the holiday season does the band all get together or does everyone do their own thing?

Bryan: This is the first year we've had Thanksgiving on the road and yes, we all got together and it was awesome. Ate so much and basically took over the buffet. It was rad. It was us, Affiance, and S&S. EDIU stayed with their management and ate with them. But if we're at home we usually don't get together to eat, we may go out to a bar later that night or something.

10. What is your favorite Christmas song to sing and why?

Bryan: I would say O' Holy Night. I just love that song in general, it's beautiful and I think has a great meaning. And I can kinda play it on piano so it's fun.

11. One thing you really want for Christmas is what?

Bryan: An electric drum kit. I've been wanting one for so long and it's just easier to play it at any hour of the night. Could get a lot more practice done, haha.

12. Do you still believe in Santa Claus?

Bryan: What? He's not real?

13. What type of Christmas tree do you prefer white or green or your own version?

Bryan: Green, and real. I'm a huge Christmas fan and I love everything about the season. The carols, the smells, the food, the spirit, the weather, the giving of gifts, family time, the decorations, the shopping, all of it. I love it.

14. Are you a late or early Christmas shopper?

Bryan: Late every year. I'm a procrastinator anyway, but touring I never have money and we usually have the last few weeks of December off so I work and shop then.

15. One thing you have to do on New Year's Eve?

Bryan: I would say just spend it with anyone that I care about. We've been on tour a couple times on New Year's and sometimes we're home. So if we're at home I'll spend it with family or friends and if we're on tour I'll spend it with band mates and other bands. Either way, it's always awesome.

16. Do you have any New Year's resolutions?

Bryan: Not really, I seem to never really follow them haha. I just try to be a good person all the time continue it throughout the year. Thanks for the interview and Happy Thanksgiving Natalie!
