Black Veil Bride's has come quite a long way since they
began way back when. Now upon their third album, "Wretched and Divine: The
Story of the Wild Ones" a concept has commenced with 19-tracks several of which featuring the proclaimed "F.E.A.R.
Transmissions" occurring throughout being an intermission if you will.
While the rest is the portrayed material having various
tracks be the pick of the matter "I Am Bulletproof", "Days Are
Numbered", "Nobody's Hero", and current single "In The
End". This isn't where the music stops though, this concept is so massive
that it goes into becoming a feature full entitled "Legion of the
Black" "The film follows a group of rebels known as "The Wild
Ones" as they defend their hearts, minds and bodies against F.E.A.R".
Material-wise is classic Black Veil Brides style but more
musical driven than ever before. Andy Biersack's vocal presents is clearly
stated but not in the screaming fashion he's known for, less screams aren't
present here which is a bit of a downfall for those who may enjoy those perks.
Several guest appearances made their presents known from
Will of Aiden/William Control to Bert McCracken of The Used and Juilet Simms of
Automatic Loveletter. Will being the center focus, him taking the role of the
"F.E.A.R." voiceover found throughout the release.
Several things do come from this release that make it worth
wild if you will, the catchy riffs, solos, and choruses used are worth
listening to, whereas the repetitiveness which made the 80s music famous is
attempted quite a bit.
Black Veil Brides is one of those acts that are still within
the up-and-coming rank having their draw of sounding like Kiss meets an emo
version of what Nickelback would possibly sound like. It makes the listen
worthy even if you weren't a fan to begin with.
