Orgy's Jay Gordon Creates the Music that Never Broke Away

California native alternative metal industrialists Orgy has been around for quite some time now but according to only remaining original member Jay Gordon the vocalist and frontman of the group, he says "it hasn't been the same band so that would be incorrect. This new band has been around for like a year and a half." So with this new and improved band underway the band themselves have been in the studio tracking their instruments and vocal chords for their yet to be released album and say that even more new music including 2 new EPs as well as touring will follow through in due time. Expect the unexpected when it comes to the master minds that is Jay Gordon of Orgy!

1. You have been a band for nearly 20 years, do you plan to celebrate in anyway? What do you think about being around for so long?

Jay: It hasn't really been that long it's been around 12-14 years or something like that. That's too far ahead for me to think about and it hasn't been the same band so that would be incorrect. This new band has been around for like a year and a half.

2. What's it like being back doing what you love to do?

Jay: I never really stopped creating music I had just taken a break from Orgy because it wasn't feeling right for a while so I didn't want it to die out, so it feels good to be back and doing things again.

3. Can you tell me why you wanted to call the band, Orgy?

Jay: It's a musical thing a blending of styles that's where it came from, where all the styles can be in one place a musical orgy.

4. Where are you in the recording process of the new album?

Jay: We're tracking guitars and vocals stuff like that, so we can get it done wrap it up so we can start playing out on the road.

5. How would you describe the overall sound of the new album? How does it compare to your previous work?

Jay: Its definitely a departure from our previous work, to me it sounds like something on how we should have sounded when we first started. I think people are going to love it, I feel it's going to be our strongest work, it's going to set the record straight, it will explain a lot of things, the sound of it and how I am about the band, it sums it all up right there so people are going to get it.

6. Did you guys have any definitive goals that you were shooting for before the recording process began for this album?

Jay: We wanted to deliver new music, wanting everything to sound good, try to create something that hasn't been done a lot. So I think we're accomplishing it putting our hearts and souls into this record.

7. Are you using any new instrumentation you've never used in the recording process before?

Jay: Sure always trying out new stuff.

8. When can we expect the new album to be released?

Jay: That's a good question there will be a single released before the tour starts and then the record will follow shortly after.

9. Can you tell me about the song Grime of the Century and why did you want to relapse it?

Jay:  Just an idea of how we wanted things to sound but looking back, it isn't anything of how the music is now. The song itself was just about the L.A. lifestyle.

10. What have you done to prepare yourselves for the tour?

Jay:  We're going to be rehearsing getting our things together it's going to be a long tour so we're gearing up for it.

11. Is there any song that when you play it live on stage makes your adrenaline levels kick in and make you want to go hyper?

Jay:  A lot of them do but I think this new stuff is going to be that high energy material the most high energy we've done.

12. What are the plans for you guys for 2013?

Jay: We have the new record and two EPs a lot of new music, some DJ work of mine and touring that's about it.

13. Anything else you want to say or add?

Jay: No other than I can't wait to see the fans being able to get out there to perform the new music making it all happen.
