Adalene's EP "Atlantic Heart" takes the band's writing and musical ability to a flawless level. The material is very strong and heartfelt having emotions of all sorts and sizes soar through you while listening in. The guitar and drum work on this release is done quite well everything is in tune with one another keeping everything in check, while the vocals and bass lines finishing it off so to speak, like wrapping it altogether having the material come as one. These guys have got the pride and emotion into the music they have created and it without a doubt shows on the "Atlantic Heart".

"The Death Of Me", a brand new song from the British metalcore act ASKING ALEXANDRIA, can be streamed below. The track comes off the band's third album, "From Death To Destiny", which will be released this summer via Sumerian Records. The CD was recorded with renowned producer Joey Sturgis (THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, EMMURE).

In a recent interview with Billboard.com, ASKING ALEXANDRIA guitarist Ben Bruce revealed that the follow-up to 2011's "Reckless & Relentless" will contain 13-15 songs, six of which will be "radio-friendly" while the rest will be "our usual balls-to-the-wall kind of stuff."

"We spent a long time honing in on song structures and writing techniques and stuff like that, but there are still heavy songs on the record," Bruce said. "We're not just going to throw that away and kick our original fan base in the teeth by getting rid of all that. There will still be a lot of riffing and screaming. But we feel like we did find a happy medium between being heavy and then being light enough to be on radio, but still keeping the balls in the song."

Most of the new CD was recorded at Sturgis' studio in Indiana, while the vocals and strings and choir parts were laid down at NRG Recording Studios in North Hollywood, California. "On the last one a lot of that extra stuff was all fake; we did it on computer," Bruce said. "This time we wanted to be more organic, so we got a live orchestra conducted by the brilliant Stevie Black (ALICE IN CHAINS, AVENGED SEVENFOLD) and did all the strings. Then we got a live church gospel choir to come into the studio for a few days to sing over a few tracks. It really sounds special."

The Hub Network, the fastest-growing children's cable network, has optioned the rights to a new series, "KISS Hello Kitty" (working title), based on the highly successful KISS x Hello Kitty line of products from Sanrio, maker of Hello Kitty, a pop icon since 1974.

KISS, an iconic rock band known for its creative merchandising, and Hello Kitty, one of the most unique and popular lifestyle brands, came together in 2010 for an unexpected collaboration — KISS x Hello Kitty. This global collection of hugely desirable co-branded products connects KISS and Hello Kitty followers all over the world with hundreds of licensed items across all categories, including apparel, toys, electronics, stationery, and back to school merchandise, among others.

The Hub's new series, "KISS Hello Kitty" (working title), will feature the four KISS x Hello Kitty characters living their rock 'n' roll dreams and bringing pink anarchy to every situation they are in. The all-new animated series is in the initial stages of development with KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons slated to be one of the executive producers. The series will be produced by KISS Catalogue Ltd. and Sanrio.

"We are thrilled to have these two seminal brands, KISS and Hello Kitty, on The Hub," said Margaret Loesch, President & CEO of The Hub. "Fans of The Hub know we are a distinct brand dedicated to providing clever, imaginative, and cool shows that families can watch together. The tone and style of the 'KISS Hello Kitty' TV show is a perfect fit for our network."

"The Hub Network is the perfect home for the TV show 'KISS Hello Kitty'," said Simmons. "We are incredibly excited about this opportunity and want to make all our millions of fans worldwide proud of a show they can watch with the whole family."

"Knowing and viewing The Hub as I do daily with my three children, it is the perfect home for us to bring the 'KISS Hello Kitty' juggernaut to yet another generation," added KISS guitarist/vocalist Paul Stanley. "I'm excited to develop this project with The Hub as it ensures it will have family appeal while keeping its brash and nurturing individuation."

"This is not the first Hello Kitty crossover for Sanrio, but for sure the most unexpected," said Roberto Lanzi, Operating Officer, Sanrio Co., Ltd. "The idea sounded crazy in the beginning, but Gene and Paul are not only rock icons, they are incredible creative minds who were soon able to see a future success. Actually, they are huge fans of Hello Kitty and now great friends of Sanrio."

Denver thrashers HAVOK have premiered their latest video for the song “From The Cradle To The Grave” from their 2012 EP, The Point Of No Return, via the band’s official Facebook page. The video, directed by Roy Warner, was filmed on location in Detroit during the band’s final tour of 2012 alongside Skeletonwitch. The premiere coincides with the band’s continued work on their anticipated Terry Date produced third full-length album.

Discussing the song’s lyrical inspiration, vocalist/guitarist Dave Sanchez says, “‘From The Cradle To The Grave’ is about America's first serial killer, H.H. Holmes. In the late 1800s, in Chicago, Holmes built a hotel specifically with murder in mind. It included doors that opened up to brick walls, staircases that lead to nowhere, and one-way rooms that once you entered, you never came out. He was a religious man and firmly believed that since he was born, the Devil was at his side. That being said, bang your head.”

Check out the video for it HERE.

Death metal legend, Autopsy, is set to defile the recording studio next month, as the band enters to lay down the tracks for its upcoming album, The Headless Ritual, due out this year on Peaceville Records. Recording will commence on April 1, 2013 at Fantasy Studios in San Francisco, Calif. with producer Adam Munoz.

Said drummer/vocalist Chris Reifert, "Expect nothing less than the monstrous brutality that Autopsy has been known to offer. Laurels will not be rested upon, trends will not be followed and mercy will not be shown. Mark your calendars for June and pick out a coffin to lie down and die in. Darkness and death await..."

Cover art has been painted by none other than the legendary Joe Petagno (Motörhead, Marduk), and it's safe to say he has outdone himself with this gruesome slice of horror.

Stay tuned for more information on Autopsy and The Headless Ritual.

Sweden glam rockers Crashdiet have been an on/off ordeal since their formation years back, after the death of founding member Dave Lepard the band didn't quite know on whether or not to move forward with the band. After thinking things over they thought it would be for the best and found Simon Cruz becoming a great addiction, with that they went on to release more albums including their fourth to date, "The Savage Playground" and are currently touring about getting the word around that Crashdiet is here and here to stay! Frontman vocalist Simon Cruz took the time while out on the road to discuss the touring routine and this so called Savage Playground of fun!

1. How did you guys come up with your band name?

Simon: The founding now now dead singer Dave Lepard called up the guitarist in the middle of the night saying " Hey man we will be called Crashdiet". Then the guitarist greeted the signer the next day with the phrase" Cool band name man!". Dave didn't recall any of it, but he liked the name so they went for it.

2. You've released your fourth album to date, what runs through your mind?

Simon: On tour at the moment, trying to find a the right balance between being able to drink as much as possible while still singing as good as possible, kinda dead race so far.

3. What are your expectations for this CD?

Simon: I hope it will reach a big audience! Its worth it!

4. How is the current tour going in the U.S.?

Simon: Having fun! Got a great bus, but we're paying for it.

5. What are your favorite things about touring in the U.S.?

Simon: We get to see so many places. The U.S has some cool towns.

6. What did you do to prepare yourselves for this tour?

Simon: I filled myself up with vitamins, rehearsed a the songs, the usual.

7. When it comes to performing each and every night does the time stand still or does it fly by when performing?

Simon: It'd kind of different every night, sometimes it feels like forever, and sometimes it feels like a second. It usually depends on how much you drank the night before.

8. What is one special effect or stage prop that you would want to use or see during your shows?

Simon: The smoking barrels has become like a trademark for the Crashdiet shows. I´d love to bring them to America some day.

9. When it comes to a tour what part of the tour do you think your body is already tired and worn out?

Simon: The worst part is a couple of dates into the tour, the body is in shock and hasn't had a chance to adapt. Further in you find the balance.

10. You guys have toured a lot over the years but where hasn't Crashdiet set foot in?

Simon: Yet to see Asia and Africa!

11. How easy is it to keep the motivation going on a daily basis for Crashdiet?

Simon: Sometimes its hard, especially when your body is exhausted. But its the break on through to the other side that keeps us going.

12. What plans do you have for the rest of this year?

Simon: After America we go to the UK and then Europe. Then its summer!

13. Anything else you want to add for your fans?

Simon: See you guys on tour, lets have a blast!

"Live It Up", a brand new song from Australian hard rockers AIRBOURNE, can be streamed below. The track comes off the band's third album, "Black Dog Barking", which will be released on May 21 via Roadrunner Records. The follow-up to 2010's "No Guts. No Glory." was produced by Brian Howes, who has previously worked with HINDER, DAUGHTRY and PUDDLE OF MUDD.

Said the band: "A lot of thought and effort has gone into this record not only by the band, but by the production crew who worked countless hours, seven days a week, even through Christmas and New Year's Eve to achieve the best possible performances, backed by real undying tones. Now we're handing it over to you... so crank it up, crack a beer and stick some rock 'n' roll in your ear!"

The Full Throttle edition of a new AIRBOURNE song, "Live It Up", will be made available for the opening of Full Throttle at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California, the tallest, fastest looping roller coaster in the world. The track will be released to rock radio in late spring, followed by its in-park debut at Six Flags Magic Mountain with the ride opening. The Full Throttle edition of "Live It Up" will be featured throughout the newly themed five-acre section of the park where guests will experience high-energy action through fast-paced imagery, sound and lights, with additional music featuring various Roadrunner artists. The launch will be further supported nationally in all theme parks, Roadrunner and Six Flags online and social media channels, live events and press outreach.

"Theme music is synonymous with television, movies and even sports. It's a natural extension to bring original music to a world-class roller coaster, like Full Throttle," said David McKillips, Senior Vice President of Corporate Alliances, Six Flags Entertainment. "Roadrunner Records had the creative vision and talent to match the heart-pounding speed and adrenaline the ride experience delivers, backed with a content partnership that provides best-in-class entertainment to our guests."

In addition to the song's release, Six Flags and Roadrunner will be working together on programming to be featured on Six Flags digital networks, which includes the Nielsen-measured Six Flags Television Network. The content partnership will air Roadrunner videos in ride-line televisions and help drive awareness, music downloads, and sales for Roadrunner's breadth of rock artists.

"This is an innovative partnership that brings together two great brands and allows Roadrunner to bring music to millions of entertainment-seeking consumers in a new way," said Michael Easterlin, General Manager of Roadrunner Records. Sevendust have returned with an all new album, "Black Out the Sun," and this just so happens to be the band’s ninth studio disc to date, and it does not disappoint. This follow-up to 2010′s "Cold Day Memory", features these guys at the top of their game.

With that said, this album from front to back brings back earlier works from back in the day,  Animosity, Alpha, and their self-titled album. Songs like "Till Death" "Faithless",  "Mountain", "Cold as a War", and "Nobody Wants It" are just s summary of how strong this material can possible be and the fans have come to know and love since the very beginning. Guitar riffs that blast one track after the next, guttural vocals, melody aggressive balances makes it all come together. Throughout this album is nothing but solid heavy metal material that doesn't let down.

Sevendust's long awaited return has arrived and it shows no mercy what so ever.

Davey Suicide has been touring about with Vampires Everywhere! and Orgy and just released his self-titled debut as well. He takes sometime while out on tour to discuss the touring process and his thoughts about his debut release.

1. Davey Suicide is now a part of the Standby Records family, how does this make you feel? What does Standby Records bring to the table that no other label can? Are you satisfied with what they have to offer?

Davey: I'm glad I have an amazing band, great management team and booking agent.

2. With your new album you decided to go Self-Titled. Do you feel that's a big statement? Band's tend to name their albums self-titled when they feel it's indicative of the sound they've been trying to craft. Do you feel this is the sound you've been trying to achieve with the band?

Davey: This is what we are and it's the first real introduction into the Suicide World.  It felt right.

3. How did the writing process differ this time around as opposed to the past?

Davey: Growing up the songwriting would be 5 dudes in a basement.  We'd overlook and compromise important visions that way.  This way, it's Frankie, Needlz and I tearing ideas apart, rebuilding them and getting the best vision out.

4. Lyrically, do you think this album is going to have a different feel because of where you all are in this point in your life?

Davey: I've grown into myself and I've become confident in the artist that I am. It's indicative of that.

5. Can you tell us how this album differs from the previous EP release? What can we expect and what is the message behind it?

Davey: The EP was a small preview into this world.  The album has more of a spectrum of emotion, ups and downs and a theme that the EP didn't unleash yet.

6. Could you describe your song writing process? What comes first – the music or the lyrics?

Davey: There's no set formula.  I can have a lyric sheet and Frankie will bring over his guitar and it can happen that way.  I can put a look in Garage Band and play guitar to it and demo lyrics or Frankie and Needlz could come up with music and send it to me.  We've done it many ways and in the end, the monster has different faces.

7. How has the band’s sound evolved from Put Your Trust In Suicide to Davey Suicide?

Davey: Put Our Trust in Suicide was the tip of the iceberg.  It was simply a preview.

8. What are your expectations for the CD?

Davey: I can only hope it gives people a place to go when no one else is there.  I hope it gives our fans empowerment and I hope it gets more bands writing from their guts.

9. Have you or will you be shooting for a new video anytime in the future?

Davey: We just finished Kids of America with Chad Michael Ward which will be due out shortly!

10. You are on tour with Vampires Everywhere and Orgy. If you could think of one thing you would like to accomplish the most through this tour what would that be?!

Davey: We want to grow as a band to be able to headline and bring some of our friends bands out with us.

11. What did you do to prepare yourselves for this tour?

Davey: Make lists on paper and cross a few things out each day.  Leaving for tour is chaotic but luckily the more you do it, the easier it gets.

12. Being out on the road, do problems still arise between bandmates from being stuck in the van for too long?

Davey: Yeah, but luckily pull over to get gas every 4 hours.

13. Is there any song that when you play it live on stage makes your adrenaline levels kick in and make you want to go hyper?

Davey: Fuck Star is magical because it's the fan favorite right now.

14. When it comes to performing each and every night does the time stand still or does it fly by when performing?

Davey: Everything moves by so fast.  I barely have time to call my family.

15. What is one special effect or stage prop that you would want to use or see during your shows?

Davey: I want to fly down from the ceiling.  We're working on it.

16. Who goes the longest without taking a shower?

Davey: Frankie. He loves being dirty.

17. Ho w many times do you have to wear the same piece of clothing because you couldn't find a landry matt?

Davey: We try and do laundry once a week. Normally it works out.

18. What has been the best hotel/motel that you have slept in and what made it the best out of all the others?

Davey: Our label got us a rad hotel in Cleveland on the Noise Revolution Tour.  The ceilings were high, jacuzzi in the main room and it was extremely posh.

19. Once this tour is over what do you have planned afterwards?

Davey: Of course but we can't reveal that just yet. :)

20. How easy is it to keep the motivation going on a daily basis for Davey Suicide?

Davey: When you have amazing fans and do what you love, it's all about execution.

Zagreb, Croatian's Subscale was started as a home project long ago, through the years as many band it faced band line-up changes among other changes, during this time they managed to release an EP "Fictional Constructs" in 2012 and their debut album "The Last Submission" released just this year. Now who knows what will be on the horizon for these guys only time will tell.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Well, it all started in the summer of 2010. We started experimenting with home recording and got really interested in what Misha Mansoor aka Bulb was doing at the time. It was ground breaking since it was all home recorded and sounded really good. So we started combining riffs we both had laying around and came up with 2 or 3 song ideas. We wanted to keep it simple and avoid all the stress and pressure that came with a real band, we just wanted to make music. Subscale was just a project for us so we were able to try out anything we wanted to musically. This gave us freedom to experiment with samples, drum programming and restructuring songs even after they were recorded. At the time we were joined by Hrvoje as our third guitarist and decided to write more songs. We were approached to do a Metallica cover for a compilation that never got released, but has given us the opportunity to ask Karlo to do vocals for it. We were blown away by his vocal skills and realized that we could ask him to do a whole record with us. As they say, the rest is history. We wrote 9 songs and were joined by Igor who layered them with awesome samples and here we are now.

2. How did you guys come up with your band name?

As we explored home recording we started a home recording studio that we simply called Subscalar Studios. It had something to do with a CPU and since we were doing everything digitally we thought it sounded cool. We wanted to use the project to promote the studio so we abbreviated the name Subscale from Subscalar Studios and just went with it. A subdivision of a scale would be the exact meaning for it.

4. Do you write your own songs? (Discuss the songwriting process in detail.)

Yeah, all the music you can hear is written, recorded, mixed and mastered by us. There is no blueprint we use to make song. It can start from a riff, a drum pattern, sometimes even a sound sample. We just work our way from there, try to keep it both interesting and groovy but also listenable. Although we all like complex music, we try to make songs that bring both groove and atmosphere to the listener.

5. What lyrical theme do you guys use in your music? What message do you want to send?

We don't have an agenda or a general idea or message we want to put out there. The lyrical themes are mixed but they do follow emotions and thoughts we have towards certain aspects in life. We all got betrayed, we were all lost and still are, we all lost people we loved...but we would like the listeners to interpret the emotions and lyrics on their own.

6. What bands have influenced your band and its sound?

Well, there are a lot of bands that have influenced us all, some more some less, but they are all in there somewhere. We all love Fear Factory and Meshuggah, but there are also Slipknot, Korn, Soilwork, Whitechapel, The Acacia Strain, Tesseract, Periphery, Mnemic, All Shall Perish...aw man, there are so many bands that we like, we can't name them all.

7. Was your songwriting and recording process any different than usual for this CD?

Well, it did differ to the approach we had while we were writing music before we started Subscale. Usually the music was done with our drummers and other band mates. The process was long and never fully satisfying. But now we can record and arrange the music in detail, leaving nothing to chance. We can work out hooks and patterns till they perfectly fit the part or entire song.

8. What inspired the album title? Is it a concept album?

The title "The Last Submission" was the first song idea we had when we started. I (Jay) wrote an early version of the song and saw it as a personal goodbye to music making - the last submission to the listeners, since my band fell apart back then. But that song has somehow laid the foundation for the record we did and connects everything we've done so far.  It can be seen as a conceptual album and we have connected both lyrics and song parts to describe the journey that is captured by the record. This is something we want the listeners to discover on their own.

9. What are your expectations for the CD?

Well, first of we are so happy that the record is finally out, we kept it 2 years under a microscope and did a million revisions on it - that had to stop. We hope the people will react well to it and we hope to play live as much as possible. Everything that comes with it we will welcome with open arms.

10. What can the fans expect to see from you in the future?

More music and even more music. We have so much material waiting on our HDD-s, we hope to work them out ASAP.

Hardcore pop punks Make A Scene released a debut album called "A Theme For Her Murder". This release engulfs the listener with it's proclaimed genre listing of "hardcore/pop punk" portraying this hard yet heavy duty material with an edge of pop vibe with vocal chords that stand out smooth yet aggressive. If none of that makes any sense to you then you just need to listen to it for yourselves. Any who Make A Scene has got something going on here and clearly from this release alone it's rather enjoyable and catchy and very upbeat. One of those releases that you'd want to hear again and again. This is surly for the fans of other acts such as Chomp Chomp Attack,  The Used, and Avenged Sevenfold.

Old school era's never get old especially when it comes to the likes of Toxic Holocaust. Frontman Joel Grind unleashed The Yellowgoat Sessions and is in current writing mode for a follow-up to "Command and Conjure". What more could tide the Toxic Holocaust fans over for the time being? Perhaps a compilation of sorts will do the trick, one ranging over a ten years worth, rarities, demos, revamped works, the whole nine yards is covered on this release alone.

From The Ashes Of Nuclear Destruction collects various contributions over the years as mentioned before, from rarities, demo versions of recordings, timeless revamped recordings of classical works, "666", "Bitch", "Nuke The Cross", with material you wouldn't even think was Toxic Holocaust based, "Metal Attack", "Deathmaster", Thrashing Death", "Send them to Hell", "Reapers Grave", "Suicide Eye", the list is endless and truly flawless. With that said, this is Toxic Holocaust like you've heard before except more raw and in your face - having the material be a solid combo of intensity meets further intensity.

From The Ashes Of Nuclear Destruction gathers over ten years worth of Toxic Holocaust material into one raging compilation!

Gothic metal tends to use the same formula however you look at it either a male or female front person takes the reins and material following that sounds the same. HIM, The 69 Eyes, and Lacrimas Profundere all sound the same whereas As Angels Bleed brings to mind Within Temptations, Lacuna Coil, with a cross fade of Evanescence with Epica. The sound of the band is one that heavily revolves around guitar riffs that develops a dark background with increasing keyboard tactics that makes the music sound soothing yet in-depth. Solos are presented throughout having a scattering effect while the vocals present a special tone having one of those finer elements that makes it sound superb yet impressive to say the least. With songs like "Desire", "Bloody Kisses", and "Sinfully Yours", really showcases the band's ability quite well indicating all of the instrumentals mentioned beforehand. As Angels Bleed is another one of those acts that falls between the lines of everybody else standing out as much as possible with their own take on the gothic metal trend of a style.

Acidic's "Copper Man" is a hard working act unlike any other out of sunny California. With that they worked long and hard on their upcoming release "Copper Man". This alternative indie rock act is one that has kept the groove going time and time again. The material is catchy and very upbeat with songs like, "Monster", "Forever More", "Looking Glass", and "Believe", that really captures the uniqueness that these guys have been ranting and raving about since forming a few years back. "Copper Man" is surly one of those releases from an act you will continue to hear about whether you have heard of them or not.

After more than a decade together, emo/punk stalwarts My Chemical Romance have called it a day. The group released this brief statement on their official website:

Being in this band for the past 12 years has been a true blessing. We've gotten to go places we never knew we would. We've been able to see and experience things we never imagined possible. We've shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends. And now, like all great things, it has come time for it to end. Thanks for all of your support, and for being part of the adventure.

The band released four albums throughout their career, including the popular The Black Parade. Most recently, the group released the ambitious Danger Days: The True Lives of The Fabulous Killjoys in 2010.

The Grammy-nominated band was an iconic group during the early-2000s emo movement, mainly on the strength of their breakthrough record Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.

The hardest-working, hottest young rock band in Southern California ACIDIC is at it again! They're releasing their biggest, best, rockiest, rowdiest, and most critically-acclaimed album yet, "Copper Man". Frontman guitarist and lead vocals Michael Gossard spoke to us about this release, current touring schedule, and what they expect for this year alone.

1. What type of band are you?

Michael: We're a high energy rock band, straight out rock n' roll for us it's all about the stage and life just living in the moment.

2. Can I get a backstory on the band/ band biography?

Michael: I started the band in 2007, just wanting to play music. I put up flyers hearing a few responses from people, so we got some people together began playing some songs, did our first show, the rest is history and we're really happy with it.

3. How did you come up with the band's name?

Michael: That's a very interesting story we had gotten our name after playing our first show. We had thought the promoter would come up with the name so he had called us into the office and asked us what our band name was going to be, so I forgot what I was drinking at the time, but on the ingredients the name Acidic was there so it stuck.

4. What bands have influenced your band and its sound?

Michael: As terms as sound we sound a lot like Green Day, Jane's Addiction, Queens of the Stone Age, even some punk like The Ramones.

5. What lyrical theme do you guys use in your music? What message do you want to send?

Michael: Our lyrics is experiences we've dealt with and for us it's about us creating a future for ourselves. It's just all about self discovery for us really.

6. Why did you want to title the album Copper Man?

Michael: That's something that just happened, we were writing a song so after sometime we were fooling around with this idea and I ended up blurting it out  so it all happened by accident.

7. Can you tell me about the single and video for the song Copper Man?

Michael: That's another thing that happened by accident so we went for the infomercial style of video, doing something that nobody else has done before. We went all out for it and it was a really good decision we had made.

8. How would you describe the overall sound of the new album?

Michael: It's BIG and nothing like we've done before. It was done all live tracking everything live so it has that big rock band sound with that real live energy.

9. What are your expectations for the CD?

Michael: That's something I'm not sure about, I would like to keep playing and selling as many as we can. We're already writing for the next album so we just want this one to be something we can be proud of so we're seeing a good reaction from it. Playing shows non-stop are going on right now too.

10. What can the fans expect to see from you in the future?

Michael: Just more touring, more writing, we're just about moving forward making things better for ourselves.

11. Anything else you'd like to say or add?

Michael: For anyone who wants to check us out go to our Facebook page, Twitter page, listen to us on the radio and come see us live at the shows, we're really proud to be a part of something so big.

The horror rock/punk group was originally formed in 2006 as Brain Buffet and reformed in 2010 as "The Casket Creatures". Gaining momentum in the horror music scene, with that they released their debut album "Tales From The Unknown" in 2011 which was produced by Maq Brown from The Unicorn Room in Lawrenceville GA. They are currently working on the next chapter of horror with our upcoming album "Sex, Blood and Rock N Roll". Band mates Ryan and Derek discusses this ghoulish new creation!

1. Can I get a backstory on the band/ band biography?

The Casket Creatures formed out the band Brain Buffet. Brain Buffet was a horror band was a lot of fun but was never taken seriously. We only played shows around  Halloween and we never even recorded more than a couple of songs. Years later we decided to form The Casket Creatures with a similar line up with some additions (Derek Obscura and Bradley Chandler). In turn we devolved a more refined sound and style and that's where we are today!

2. How did you guys come up with your band name?

Brain Buffet was pretty much a joke name, The Casket Creatures name was though up by Jamie and it really worked for what we were doing.

3. What bands have influenced your band and its sound?

They range from Blitzkid, The Misfits, Back To Zero, and Mister Monster to Alice Cooper, Iron Maiden, Rob Zombie, Kiss and Motorhead.

4. What lyrical theme do you guys use in your music? What message do you want to send?

Some songs have an almost comical/campy feel to the lyrics while other ones have a dark tone that deals with ghosts and the occult.

5. Where are you in the recording process of the new album?

We recorded several of the tracks with our old drummer who we had to let go. This set us back but we are currently back on track and we only have one session left to finish the last two songs.

6. Who is producing the album? How has the producer aided the recording process?

Ty Watkins is recording the album and James Nation is mixing it. James is also the director for the music video. The combination of this talent is making us sound great haha.

7. Where are you recording the album?

In Dacula with Ty Watkins at Sloppy Thirds Studio.

8. How would you describe the overall sound of the new album?

Darker, heavier, scarier, and somehow catchier.

9. Tell me how does "Tales From The Unknown" and "Sex, Blood and Rock N Roll" differ and compare to one another? How has the band’s sound evolved from the two?

We have a new lineup and we have become a lot tighter as a band. We have really found our sound now and it shows when you compare the albums.

10. What inspired the album title? Is it a concept album?

There was a toss up between “Sex, Blood and Rock N Roll” and “Bats, Blood and Bitches”. We were going to use one for the title and write a song with the other. I had an idea for BBB musically and so we ended up with that song and just using SBRnR for the album title. I think it worked out! As for a concept album, I don’t think so. There are songs on the CD about some horror movies, murderers, necrophilia, and just some straight rock n’ roll tunes so I think the album title is definitely covered with the songs!

11. Did the band have any definitive goals they were shooting for before the recording process began for this album?

Not really, no. The only goal we had from the start was to just make an album we are all proud of!

12. Are you using any new instrumentation you've never used in the recording process before?

Nothing out of the usual! There may be a few things we add “spice” up. I know there is one song we were talking about adding some string layers under some parts to give it more of a cinematic horror movie feel. It should turn out pretty cool!

13. Was your songwriting and recording process any different than usual for this CD?

Yes this time we recorded live together as a band and the way everything is sounding is incredible.

14. When did you start writing for this album? How was the songwriting process different/similar to previous The Casket Creatures albums?

Writing for this new CD really began right after 1st one came out! We started working on a few right away and over time we have changed things around and given them new dimensions and such but the writing took off right away. Now we haven’t been writing constantly since then because our schedule last year was pretty crazy so the writing was here and there. The writing process is different and similar at the same time. Different because with Bradley and Derek they each give their own flare to it but similar because everyone is on the same page and it makes the writing process just flow smoothly.

15. Do you feel any pressure to doing this follow-up?

No not really, we just have a lot of musical ideas that we wanted to record. For us it is about making an album that we will enjoy as well as our fans.

16. Can you go into one or two tracks on the new album? If so, can you give us the track title and brief description of how the track sounds and how it came about?

I think one song that will stand out is the track “Black Widow Bride”. It came about from Ryan while he was driving home from out of town and he came up with the guitar melody in his head  and literally called on his way home and hummed it out over the phone. Then when he got back we all got together and once again he hummed it out and we were able to piece it together and it ends up being a stellar track! It was I guess…modern rock feel to it but very melodic and then it takes a COMPLETE twist at the end but you will just have to wait to hear that.

17. How is the vibe in the studio?

Fun! Watch out studio updates on our Youtube page to get a feel for how ridiculous we are in the studio!

18. When can we expect the new album to be released?

Late Spring, no set release date, but when we get one you will know!

19. You shot a music video recently can you tell me about the song and the video's concept?

We did a video for the song “Curse of The Mummy’s Tomb” and it was shot and directed by our friend James Nation. The song is an ass kicker for sure and just sums up waking up an evil Mummy and then all hell breaking loose! The video has that concept but we did not take the serious route of it at all. We just wanted to have fun with it so the video has a real Abbott & Costello vibe as well as some Scooby Doo elements! We all think it turned out phenomenal!

20. What are your expectations for the CD?

We honestly feel like this is The Casket Creatures masterpiece, who knows what everyone else will think. But we feel good about the content and we hope a lot of people pick it up and give it a chance. Also with the promotion from the video and the upcoming video for Bats, Blood and Bitches I think this CD will get some good attention.

21. What are your upcoming touring and show plans?

Right now prior to the album being released we just have a local hometown show booked. We always like to give back to the fans in our backyard so to say so we are really excited for it. Now after the CD is out  we just hope to be playing as much as we can and where ever we can! We had an INSANE year last year and I’m not going to lie, it’s going to be tricky to top it. But I think we are all up for the challenge!

Thanks,
Ryan and Derek

A few years have past since Created To Kill's last release "Worship Or Die", now that time has come and gone for them they have been hard at work on a follow-up release that blows everything else away. Guitarist Steve Forbes talks about the process, songs, and when this album will be released, as well as touring info.

1. So tell me what has Created To Kill been up too since we last spoke?

Steve: After Worship Or Die went out and we played as many shows as we could to promote it and We got right back to writing as well.

2. Do you ever feel the pressure of being a trio band?

Steve: Yeah our Singer/Bass player has it the roughest doing double duty we have thought about adding a bassist so he could concentrate on vocals.

3. Where are you in the recording process of the new album?

Steve: The new CD is recorded it's being mixed now.

4. Who is producing the album? How has the producer aided the recording process?

Steve: Scott Briggs from the band Aeons Of Eclipse is producing. He helped us with using a click track
to perfect our timing on the recording.

5. Where are you recording the album?

Steve: Velocity Studios in Cave City, KY.

6. What label will be releasing the album?

Steve: Pagan Pride Records is in the US and Ungodly Ruin Productions in Europe.

7. How would you describe the overall sound of the new album? How does it compare to Worship or Die?

Steve: Fast and technical old school death metal. The songs on the new album have more structure and having a real drummer instead of the drum machine makes a whole world of difference.

8. Did the band have any definitive goals they were shooting for before the recording process began for this album?

Steve: We definitely wanted to step it up.

9. Are you using any new instrumentation you've never used in the recording process before?

Steve: Not really other than dropping our tuning a half step.

10. When did you start writing for this album? How was the songwriting process different/similar to previous Created to Kill albums?

Steve: We starting writing right after we finished touring in 2009. The process was pretty much the same we each come up with a song or 2 on our own then bring it to the band.

11. Worship or Die was a great success, did you feel any pressure to follow it up?

Steve: Not really we were never really happy with the production on Worship Or Die, but released it anyways. Death's Construction surpass's Worship Or Die in all aspects.Paul coming into the band really helped in the song writing.

12. Can you go into one or two tracks on the new album? If so, can you give us the track title and brief description of how the track sounds and how it came about?

Steve: Self Inflicted Flame Engulfment is one of my favorites it's reminiscent of early Cannibal Corpse full of trills and fake harmonics it was a collage of riffs i had been hanging onto for a while.

The Reaper Always Wins is another one while others took me months to write this one took 2 weeks it all just fell together it was the last track to be written weeks before we were to record it is similar to later Nile in parts.

13. How was the vibe in the studio?

Steve: The vibe was laid back, but intense on perfection.

14. When can we expect the new album to be released?

Steve: The new album will be out in the US on Pagan Pride Records this summer and in the fall in Europe on Ungodly Ruin Productions.

15. What plans do you have for the near future as a band?

Steve: We will be embarking on a 13 date tour in June to promote the new CD including playing the Las Vegas Deathfest and the Foothills Gutfest in Colorado.

Metal hardcore act Rumors of Betrayal took sometime to discuss their song "The Vacant" as well as the details about their full-length album. Guitarist J.R. Helie discusses these matters.

1. What type of band are you and where are you guys from?

J.R.: We are a Metal Band from Claremont, NH.

2. How did the band come together and where does the name come from?

J.R.: I started the band back in January of 2009 with our original vocalist Joey Marsh and some friends we knew around Claremont. The name Rumors of Betrayal came from our original vocalist Joey back in 2009. We honestly cant remember how he came up with it or the meaning behind it. That sounds pretty bad lol.

3. "The Vacant" comes off your upcoming full-length, can you tell me about this song?

J.R.: Lyrically "The Vacant" has a lot to do with corruption of the leaders of our world and our country and us, the people standing for what we believe.

4. Why did you want to pick this song out of all the others for everyone to hear first.

J.R.: We picked "The Vacant" to release first because it really shows our change in sound musically. We also thought it was a great way for people to hear our new vocalist Bobby and how great of a job he has done with this song.

5. Where are you in the process of your full-length album?

J.R.: We are about half way done with the full length I'd say. Its taken us a while. We are all really busy with work. We are going to record two new songs in mid April with Connor Hayes of Project 2 Studios. Connor produced our EP, "Beyond This Point Lies Nothing". We will hopefully have those our by the end of April. That will give us a little more time to finish up writing.

6. Who is producing the album?

J.R.: We have a few producers in mind, we are pricing it out. We have also gone back and forth about tracking the guitars ourselves and then heading to a studio to record drums and vocals. But we are still unsure.

7. Where do you plan to record the album?

J.R.: We will be recording in Southern New Hampshire, as the studios we are looking at are all located in that area. Unless something happens and we get the opportunity to record else where.

8. What label will be releasing the album?

J.R.: No label will be releasing this as of now. But who knows what can happen in the next few months. We will try shopping it around once we've finished it.

9. How would you describe the overall sound of the new album?

J.R.: The full length will definitely be a lot different then our previous EP. Our musical tastes have definitely changed drastically. This album will be a lot heavier. It'll be more progressive as well. Hopefully people that loved our EP will dig our new sound.

10. Did the band have any definitive goals they were shooting for before the recording process began for this album?

J.R.: Well as of right now we are still in the demoing stage of this album. Some goals were just write what we feel. And just take our time with it.

11. Are you using any new instrumentation you've never used before?

J.R.: On this album we are using seven string guitars as opposed to six string guitars on our previous EP. Weve added some new gear to our setups. Bobby our vocalist plays piano so we really want to utilize that on the full length.

12. What are your songs about?

J.R.: Lyrically the album will have a lot to do with corruption, war, and just the state that the world is in right now. And our music will compliment that accordingly.

13. Do you write your own songs?

J.R.: We do right all of our own songs.

14. Have you picked a title for the new album?

J.R.: We have not picked a title for the album yet.

15. Will this be a concept album?

J.R.: I'd say this album may be considered a concept album. We will always be a heavy band but we have always just wrote what we felt and not been like "Well this song should sound like this". We all contribute to the writing process so I think that helps us a lot.

16. When can we expect this album to be released?

J.R.: We are really hoping to have the album out by mid-late summer. Maybe earlier if we bust our asses.

17. What are your plans for this year as far as shows and touring is concerned.

J.R.: We took February off to write and demo, and right now we are filling up weekends for the end of March and through the spring. We are planning some week long runs this summer to hopefully hit the midwest and the southern east coast states.

18. Anything else you want to say or add?

J.R.:  We are so excited for everyone to hear these songs and we can not wait to show them to you. Thank you for all of the support! If you need me to fill in the questions sheet you attached I can. So just let me know! Thanks Natalie!

After years as one of the U.K.'s most successful unsigned acts, London modern metal mob THE DEFILED have signed a worldwide deal with Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The band's second album, "Daggers", will be released this summer.

To whet the appetites of fans, the first song from the album, "Sleeper", will be released via iTunes this Sunday, March 17. A lyric video for the track can be seen HERE.

Having released its debut album "Grave Times" via Metal Hammer magazine in 2011, THE DEFILED has since enjoyed status as the U.K.'s biggest unsigned metal acts. Making huge strides forward on their own, their achievements as a self motivated and independent band in the world of heavy music, which includes sold out tours, prestigious slots at the biggest festivals and a Golden God Award, is remarkable. Their unwillingness to compromise or settle for anything less than their ambition dictates has got them this far; this alliance with indie metal powerhouse Nuclear Blast Entertainment now sets the sky as the limit.

Commented THE DEFILED frontman Stitch D: "We're ecstatic to announce that we are signing to Nuclear Blast Entertainment. After years of being an independent band and doing everything DIY, we can't wait to have such a huge label and great team behind us to take us to the next level. It's an honor to be working with a label that have released some of our favourite bands of all time."

Added THE DEFILED's The AvD: "It's amazing to get the seal of approval from Nuclear Blast, all the years of barely scraping by and putting literally everything in to THE DEFILED have finally been recognized by the amazing team that is Mark Palmer and Monte Conner. We have wanted to work with these guys for years now and our dream is being realised. Signing to Nuclear Blast means we can now go world wide and do this thing properly, the way we have always envisioned in our heads."

Monte Conner, president of Nuclear Blast Entertainment, states: "THE DEFILED are real self-motivators and what they have accomplished so far all on their own is very impressive and caught my attention. With the added muscle of Nuclear Blast, they can do some serious damage this time. Most importantly, the new album is a HUGE step forward in every direction. Great songwriting and violent production meld together to create something that will very forcefully imbed itself in your brain."

THE DEFILED will head out on the Jägermeister Music Tour next week with GHOST and GOJIRA.

Whether or not you'd be a fan of it, old school death metal has been around for quite some time and has seen better days. Deicide, Morbid Angel, Necrophobic, and even Pestilence has been at it for a while and now that new comers are strutting it like Deus Otiosus, there is no telling as to if these new comers will make it or beat it in this particular genre.

"Godless" follows-up to their debut full-length "Murderer" released in 2010, this time around "Godless" see's much less material than what was given on their debut. The instrumentals and vocal chords are present giving it all it's worth with songs like "In Harm's Way", "Surrounded by the Dead", and "Death Dance", but the remainder of the record doesn't quite do a good job. The vocal chords could be done better, while the instruments are strung along rather slowly keeping the music in what seems like a repeating motion.

Don't get me wrong Deus Otiosus has got it going for how they approach old school death metal but it could be done a tad better than what is heard here.
