Armed with big choruses, blazing guitar solos, and powerful melodies, WILDSTREET is a sex-fueled rock n roll explosion beckoning the glory days of 80s arena rock. Now that a few years have surpassed them they have got all new music in-store and even bigger and better shows lined up. Vocalsit Eric Jayk discusses the band's past, present, and future plans!
1. Where are you from?
Eric: Wildstreet is from New York Fucking City! :)
2. How did you come together?
Eric: Through craigslist, mutual friends and playing gigs in Lawrence, KS! It's a long story that I don't wanna bore you with! All that matters is we are here now in 2013 to kick ass!
3. Where does a name like Wildstreet come from and represent for the band?
Eric: Wildstreet was originally just a name of a project.. Now it's the name of a band, a gang and a family.
4. What type of band are you?
Eric: New York City Rock 'n Roll!
5. Who writes the songs, what are they about?
Eric: When we started, I was the primary songwriter. As the band has evolved and changed we have begun collaborating and writing as a band.
6. How does "Wildstreet" differ and compare to "Wildstreet II ...Faster...Louder!"?
Eric: They are very different many ways and very similar in many ways…but I'll say this both are records I am proud of!
7. What will your debut release be called?
Eric: It'll be something totally new and different!
8. On your website you announced that new merch and a new logo as well as web store is in the working progress, when will we be seeing these revealed?
Eric: You will see both shortly.. We have the new merch, and are waiting to til the time is right to launch the webstore! Soon… I promise.
9. You also did a showcase with Black Veil Brides, how was this gig for you guys? Did you manage to win some fans over or was the BVB Army not impressed with your presents?
Eric: The BVB show was amazing.. We had a blast, met awesome people and made a ton of new fans. There are photos on our Facebook page. It was a full house! Thanks again to the Best Buy Theatre in NYC and the BVB/William Control for having us be part of the show!
10. Describe your show, visual and musically for us?
Eric: To quote the legendary Ronnie James Dio… "We Rock".
11. How do you promote your band and shows?
Eric: Through our pages on social network sites, & pounding the pavement… I have walked around NYC w/ a cardboard stencil and a couple of cans of spray paint tagging my band logo on the sidewalks! I even once got arrested in the LES for hanging up posters for one of my NYC shows. We do whatever we must to get our music out!
12. Do you guys have any new music in the works?
Eric: Yes, plenty! Very soon!
13. What are your dreams and goals?
Eric: I can't speak for the other guys but I wanna play/write and sing the music I love for the rest of my life … and I want to make people happy.. that's all.
14. What inspires you to do what you do?
Eric: Espresso, the Phrygian dominant mode and beautiful women!
15. If I were to introduce someone to your music, what would be the song that you think really shows your band sound the best?
Eric: I'd present them with 'Easy Does It." I loved that song from the day it was written and the video is slammin! I gotta thank Lou Asaro, Samuel Valentine and all our friends once again for helping us with it!
