Scordatura's Doesn't Torment the Weak!

Scottish death metal bruisers Scordatura have spent years crafting their sound to reach the perfect, bludgeoning experience thus the release of their debut album "Torment of The Weak".

Having formed the band in 2007 they have gone on to play all over the UK supporting the likes of Cryptopsy, Misery Index, Aborted, Beneath The Massacre, Malevolant Creation, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Condemned & many more as well as touring with Cerebral Bore in 2011 and two self booked tours of Scotland in 2009/2010. The band are currently planning more tours throughout the UK and Europe throughout 2013 which will see them make their Irish debut in June at the all day Day Of Decay Fest in Dublin.

This is the year to see Scordatura burst onto the international death metal scene showing them how the Scottish death metal scene really is one of the best in the world.

1. Tell us the brief history of your band and how did the band get it's name, Scordatura?

We started back in 2007 and played our first show in June 2008. We've had a few line-up changes over the years but still have 3 original members (Owen, Dave, Tam). We've since went on to open for bands such as Aborted, Crypstopsy, Misery Index and many more as well as a small UK tour with our Scottish buddies Cerebral Bore. The name Scordatura came from Latin meaning altered tunings - it was Owen who had come up with the name.

2. What are your songs about? (What specific themes do they cover?)

We base our lyrical theme on serial killers, and general gore, but with a humorous twist.

3. Do you write your own songs? (Discuss the songwriting process in detail.)

Yes - We generally write at home using guitar pro and bring parts to the studio to work on.

4. You have released your debut album "Torment of the Weak" how does it feel to have your debut album out?

It feels great, we've been getting some really positive feedback on it.

5. Your genre of music is "Scottish Death Metal" why go with such a unique genre listing?
Because we are from Scotland, and play death metal.

6. On the 16th of February you will be doing an album release show case are you excited?

The show was a great success - by far the best gig we've played.

7. Are you going to be doing anymore shows or going out on a tour?

Yes for sure we will be playing a lot more shows and even some festivals.

8. What bands have influenced your band and its sound?

We're really into some old school Suffocation / Dying Fetus. This has definitely influenced us.

9. What are your expectations for the CD?

We don't have any expectations - we are happy to see where it takes us.

10. What made you guys decide to form a band?

We all shared the same passion for metal.

11. What plans do you have for the near future as a band?

To promote the album throughout the UK and Europe as much as we can.

12. Anything else you want to say or add?

Hail Satan! \m/
