Metalcore/post-hardcore five piece All The Shelters is a band that's always up for a party! They play a Spicy and manifold metalcore style that rips your face off! All The Shelters has one and only goal : set the fire on stages as much as possible, meet lots and lots of people and bring their music to you! With that said they discuss their EPs both old and new and other plans for this year!
1. Can I get a backstory on the band/ band biography?
The band started in September 2010. We recorded our first EP named "Reach" in 2011. In march 2012 we released a new song with a music video called "Atlas". Finally we recorded our new EP "Lifetime" at the end of 2012 and released it in January 2013 with a new music video as well. We signed recently with Redfield Digital, a sub label of Redfield Records, for the re-release of Lifetime. Since we started the band we did a lot of shows in Europe, including 2 tours in Russia/Ukraine.
2. How did you guys come up with your band name?
We just wanted a band name with the word Shelter, so we ended up on All The Shelters.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
We are from Strasbourg in France. The music scene in France is special because if you're not from Paris it's very difficult to succeed. In our region I'll recommend you Smash It Combo, Subdivision, Fall of Death, Eleventh Sunrise and more!
4. What lyrical theme do you guys use in your music? What message do you want to send?
In our EP Lifetime, it's all about hope, friendship, don't live your life with regrets and in your own way.
5. What bands have influenced your band and its sound?
We listen to many an different bands like Parkway Drive, The Ghost Inside, Heart in Hand, Our Last Night and so much more. We all have our influences we just play a mix of them.
6. Is there any story or concept behind the Lifetime title?
For us it means to live every moment as you wanted and don't regret a thing.
7. Who produced Lifetime and what was it like working with them?
We recorded and produced Lifetime at the Boss Hog studio in France. Clément is a great dude we really liked to work with him.
8. Who did the cover art for Lifetime and how much input did you have on it?
The artwork was made by "Golden." This artwork was available, after trying others designs with him, we decided to buy this one finally.
9. Do you guys have any new music in the works as far as a follow-up release?
We are working on our first album right now but our priority is to promote our EP Lifetime for the moment.
10. You got 2 different videos for the songs, "Lifetime" and "Atlas" tell me about those songs and videos concepts.
These songs are in the EP Lifetime. The music videos was made by CHS Prod , we tried to find something different for Atlas because it was our first music video. We found the theater and ended up on the concept of an audition quickly. For the music video of Lifetime we had in mind a beautiful spot of our city, we shot the video a rainy day to have great lights in it. We didn't want to add a story on this one to focus on the music.
11. What are your upcoming touring/show plans?
We are trying to organize a tour in July in Europe (east), but also in fall.
12. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
You can listen to our songs on Youtube, Soundcloud, Deezer and Spotify and you can buy our stuffs on iTunes or Bigcartel for physical CDs and tees.
13. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
Well, we hope they will remember that they must go see us at shows if they like what they are listening. So they can see our energy on stage and not just listen to it.
14. What can the fans expect to see from you in the future?
Signing a contract with a label for our first album, more and more shows!
15. Any final words of wisdom?
Thank you for your support, keep bands like us alive!
