Rock, metal, industrial act The Attitude have been around since 2005, since then they have written, recorded, and played showcases, now on the horizon they are continuing doing this again with new shows and an all new release called "Beautiful Disaster" coming out soon, Frontman vocalist Jim Louvau discusses this release and the plans for shows including one happening at The Viper Room in Hollywood, California.
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Jim: Anthony Kirksey and I started writing songs together in 2005 and at that point we weren't really looking to start a band it was more of a studio project at that time. I had just taken a year off from music after my last band of five years had broken up so I wasn't in a hurry to start another one. I was actually so not serious about starting a new band that when Nick Ruggiero was brought into the fold he hadn't ever played the bass or had any gear but I knew he really wanted to be in a band so I thought there was no harm in letting him try to play with us. Jared Bakin has been in and out of the band over the years and Guy65 has been playing with us for like 5 years now though we have never really made him an official member.
2. How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Jim: At the end of the day we are a rock band who incorporates electronic influences into our music. We were heavily influenced by much of the 90's Industrial scene with bands like Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Prick, and Ministry but we also love bands like Deftones, Faith No more, and Guns N' Roses and a ton more.
3. What lyrical theme do you guys use in your music? What message do you want to send?
Jim: Every song has it's own theme but there are generally always darker subject matter. We like to keep it raw and sexy and generally hope the songs make people take off their clothes.
4. How did you guys come up with your band name?
Jim: The name started out as a joke but quickly described the music we were writing and the band we wanted to be so it stuck.
5. It's been 3 years since your last release "Dance Fuck Suicide" - in our last interview you mentioned your next new EP "Beautiful Disaster" - will that be the next release we will be seeing from you guys or will this be a whole another release entirely?
Jim: "Beautiful Disaster" will come out this year as a full length release and it's really more like a deluxe edition of "Dance Fuck Suicide" and will have all of the additional remixes that we haven't put out yet. We spent most of 2013 writing.
6. Will the new material be featuring more screaming tactics as there were on your EP "Straight to the Middle"?
Jim:No the "Beautiful Disaster" stuff was written in the same sessions that "Dance Fuck Suicide" was so most of it was in the same vein. Some of the remixes are completely different then the original tracks and shed a whole new light or darkness on the tracks.
7. You guys have a showcase coming up with the Living Dead Lights, this will mark the first show from you guys since you partake in the "Bad Blood" Tour correct?
Jim: We wrapped up the dates we did with Orgy on that tour in 2012 and we played a handful of show in Arizona last year but really spent most of 2013 writing for the next record. It's gonna be great to be back out in Los Angeles at The Viper Room, we've always been treated very well out there.
8. What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?Jim: Knowing that we exist first of all since that seems to be the challenge since no one cares about rock bands these days since they don't generate as much revenue for the suit and ties these days. I've never really been one to take no for an answer and the zines and promoters always find that out in a hurry. With as many bands trying to get these people's attention you have to try to knock down the fucking door and get there attention. I would do the same thing if I were in their shoes. We aren't chasing labels it's 2014 but if someone has a ton of money they want to give us to create art we will take it.

Jim: iTunes and all the other online outlets we've all come to know.
10. What are the plans for you guys for 2014?
Jim: We are gonna put out this record and hopefully support it with some more touring and continue knocking down people's doors.
