Rock act National Product started off as any other band with writing then recording for what would be their debut album "Luna". That would lead to them to tour and play shows and continually write further material for future releases. But during that time the band needed a break to expand into other projects. Now that some time has passed the band has revived themselves and began writing all over again for what will be the follow-up release to that debut album with plans for shows and so much more! Frontman voalist Danny Casler discusses the band's break and how focused they all are on getting that new music out there.
1. Introduce yourself, tell me what you do in National Product.
Danny: I sing and write songs in National Product.
2. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
Danny: We are originally from Hawaii but we are now based out of Orange County in Southern California. I'm not gonna lie I am so out of touch with the local scene. Ever since I became a business man I don't really know what's happening within the local scene.
3. Can you tell me what happened to National Product the band went on hiatus but now are back. What happened to cause the hiatus and bring back this revival?
Danny: The long story short is that our drummer was diagnosed with a brain tumor it was then that we decided to take a break and that took a lot longer than we expected. Now we are about to do another record.
4. How does it feel to be back from hiatus and have everything up and running again?
Danny: I don't know if we will ever tour again like the way we did before but we will definitely do shows. As of right now, we all own business' and we just love making music again so we aren't thinking past that point.5. Where are you in the process of the new material?
Danny: I just finished two records one is my own solo album "The Rescue" coming soon and I have another project called Light Sleeper with some guys from Runner Runner, Over It, Rufio, and some other bands.
6. Are you in writing mode or in the studio right now?
Danny: I am in "going to Hawaii" mode right now. I have a tattoo convention to throw and a concert with Goldfinger. Then I will be taking a break before jumping into the new National Product record.
7. What are you guys planning on releasing a EP or full-length?
Full length for sure, to follow up on LUNA.
Danny: It will for sure be another full-length and follow-up to "Luna".
8. Will a label be releasing the new material or will you guys be DIY-ing it?
Danny: Dunno not worried about labels right now, just wanting to make music.
9. How would you describe the overall sound of the new material?
A mix of the old punk rock NP sound with the newer NP rock sound and some new influenced sounds.

10. Do you guys feel the pressure is on?
Danny: Nah no pressure, it's not about anything but making a record we love.
11. Will you be using any new instrumentation you've never used in the recording process before?
Danny: Nope we will be using all of the same elements that we have always made for our sound.
12. When did you start writing for this material? How was the songwriting process different/similar to previous National Product releases?
Danny: It's different because we are all busy with our own lives so when we write a lot of it is on our own then we come together to combine it altogether.
13. Do you have an idea of what this release will consist of i.e. title, song count, concept or non-concept, etc.Danny: At the moment, no I don't but it will be interesting enough to see what unfolds.
14. When can we expect the new material to be released?
Danny: 2015 for sure.
15. What are the plans do you guys have for the rest of this year?
Danny: To make music and have a great year!
