Pennsylvania progressive metalcore outfit Skeyes formed in 2013 by Jesse Cease and Tyler Williams as a studio project, Skeyes has taken on many forms in the past year. The band – Dale Brosious (screamer), Jesse Cease (guitarist/singer), Ryan Macaluso (guitarist) – is now a fully functioning band with a new vocalist and their debut EP, Empty Mirrors, is due to be released in early 2015. Empty Mirrors will feature guest vocals from Garret Rapp of The Color Morale and Jesse Cash of Erra while showcasing the band’s influences of Erra, Mureau, Northlane, and For the Fallen Dreams. Having signed to Imminence Records in October 2014, Skeyes is set to bring a unique and fresh sound to the metal scene.
Since announcing that they have signed with Imminence Records. Guitarist Jesse Cease commented on the signing by stating, “We are really excited to officially be a part of the Imminence family and to have our debut EP, entitled Empty Mirrors, released under their label in 2015. This is the beginning of a significant chapter in our lives, and we can't wait to share it with each and every person who connects with it, or simply wants to listen to it. No matter the reception we receive, this experience is a learning process for us at best, and anything else that comes with it is going to be considered gratifying and beneficial for our future as a band--and as individuals.”
To go along with the signing announcement, the band has also partnered with the metal leaning YouTube channel It Djents to exclusively premiere their new single featuring Jesse Cash of Erra. “Empty Mirrors” is the title track of the band’s forthcoming 2015 EP in which Jesse explained, “This EP has been in the works for quite a while, but we are finally wrapping things up and can't wait to show listeners what we have put so much time, effort, and heart into. We believe it possesses the foundation on which this band was built on. Admitting our mistakes as human beings, learning from them, and making the necessary changes we need to make to move forward in our lives.”
