Sinema's Andrew Talks Plans for New Music and Touring
Best friend hard rocks Sinema came together because of their love for music and the stage for their entire lives! Since their formation and diverse background and skill set of each member makes this a more exciting performance for the stage and it's sound. Their future is limitless because they will never stop since releasing their debut EP, single, with new music, more shows and so much more in-store for them! Drummer Andrew Bobulinski discusses these matters.
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Andrew: Ryan, our vocalist, started the band back in 2011. After jamming with different musicians, the lineup eventually became what it is today with Nathan, Cody, and myself. We all met through a mutual love of music and the strong desire we share to pursue it.
2. Why did you pick the name that you did for your band?
Andrew: People go to the cinema for a unique entertainment experience. We try to provide that with a rock n' roll, party like atmosphere.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
Andrew: We are based out of Birmingham, Alabama. The music scene is a bit scattered and not quite as communal as we would like it to be, but we make the most of it. Some other great local bands are Enusl, Beitthemeans, Holy Umbrella Union, Firewater Revival, Forgotten Grey, Broken Authority, and Lynam.
4. How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Andrew: It's very loud and aggressive rock n' roll. Some of our main influences are Motley Crue, Pantera, Black Label Society, Escape the Fate, and KISS.
5. What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?
Andrew: We just came out with a new single, "Between Heaven & Hell" (ft. Craig Mabbitt of Escape the Fate), and it is getting a very good reception so far from online listeners. Our EP "High Times" has also been available since 2013 and was well received.
6. Do you play live as well? What do you have planned in terms of shows and touring, if any?
Andrew: We currently have some local shows planned around Alabama. We would love to tour and are looking into possibilities for next year.
7. What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
Andrew: Our music has a sound and attitude that rock music currently seems to be lacking. We're also very dedicated and hard working. We do whatever it takes to put on a good show and entertain our audience.
8. What plans do you have for the near future as a band?
Andrew: We're shooting a music video with Craig for "Between Heaven & Hell". We're also working on a new album that will be released next year.
9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
Andrew: YouTube, SoundCloud, Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, and several other online retailers!
10. What is it you'd like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
Andrew: The old school and rebellious spirit that our music embodies.
