My Little Pony's one of many pony based conventions has opened up it's registration having numerous packages available for it's festivities this fall!

This year will make the convention's return after it announced taking a break, it will be back in full force this September through the 4th - 6th in Anaheim, California! Find out all of the details HERE.

Kick starting things in 2009 as an alternative metal band, Anewrage has cranked out an original cut of tunes combining alternative metal, rock, and post-grunge with an incredible live set to go with it! Besides the obvious though these guys have also punched out some tunes of course, releasing material including their latest "ANR". Frontman vocalist/guitarist Axel Capurro and Alessandro Ferrarese on drums/backing vocals discusses

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Hi guys and thanks for this interview! We know each other since we were very young and back then we weren't into playing music as a band. We've been always listening to music and finally in 2007, at the age of 15, we decided to play music together just for fun and we understood that we were able to write and play our own stuff instead of just cover songs.

So after a couple of years of playing and writing we got to know our bassist Sime and the magic happened: we started this project and from that moment on we've never changed line-up. That’s why we consider this band a family. We recorded a demo CD and than we tried to play live as much as we could.

In the following years we shared the stage with a lot of Italian underground bands like Destrage, Forgotten Tears and Sawthis as well as international acts like Gama Bomb (Metal Disorder Festival 2010) and UFO.

In 2013 we released “Dripping” EP and we signed our first contract with a booking agency; so we started working in a more professional way and this put us in the condition to think about the first important step for this band: the first full-length album. “ANR” (released on November 2014 via Sliptrick Records) is our first full length album and it sums up all the musical and personal experiences we shared in these years.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

The band’s name is something that describes what we want to achieve and communicate with our music: we search ourselves, always looking for something new but a the same time we love the powerful tunes that remind us what we learned from late 90’s/ 2000’s alternative music. One day our guitarist and our singer came up with the idea of ANEWRAGE and we all felt it was the right one, without even discussing about it.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We come from Milan’s periphery in Italy and starting from our personal experience we can say that the scene here is pretty chaotic. There are a lot of bands, a lot of venues and the range of possibilities is quite large if you don’t ask too much to step on a stage, but it’s very hard if you start working in a more professional way and you need a payback for your work. We can surely recommend you all to listen to Destrage, Rhyme, Mellowtoy and About Wayne (from Rome). There are plenty of other good bands but they struggle a lot to be noticed.

4. How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?

We really hate this kind of questions, because we really don’t know how to answer! I just can say that we don’t like to put limits to our music and we just try to play and write stuff that we can be proud of. There are a lot of bands and artists we used to listen to that probably influenced our music: the list would be very long! For sure we all have influences from ‘90s and 2000 music but we listen to everything we like from Lamb Of God to Katy Perry!

5. What's your take on "ANR" as a whole?

I think we really made the first album that we wanted to make. It’s exactly the way Anewrage is right now, and we’re really happy about it. The songs relate to our life and the band’s experience, so the hard part of the work was to match a piece of each one of us in this puzzle as a whole, trying not to be pointless or incoherent with the band itself, and I think we've made it.

6. What's your favorite song on "ANR" right now?

My favorite song on “ANR is always changing! We all have been deep inside the writing process, and when you get out of that, you really can’t see the difference between a song or another. I think that right now my favorite one is “Still-Don’t-Know” because of its meaning and its atmosphere.
This song talks about one of the darkest periods of my life, so when I listen to it, or when I play it live, it forces me to explore places I wouldn't necessarily go to, pushing me to face everything with fresh mind.

7. Can you tell us about your next set of shows/tours and why we should be there?

Well, we’re playing a lot of shows in Italy right now to support “ANR” in our country. We’re going to play one only show outside of Italy: we’ll be heading to Switzerland with our mates Dreamshade on April 18th. This is the complete list of our next shows:

04/03 - ROCK'N'ROLL ARENA - Romagnano Sesia (NO) , Italy w/ Temperance
(Presale Link: http://www.mailticket.it/evento/4657)
04/05 - Circolo Colony - Brescia (BS) , Italy w/ Rebeldevil
04/11 - Black Hole Club - Milano, Italy
04/18 - FOCE - Lugano (CH), Switzerland w/ Dreamshade
(Presale Link: www.dreamshade-foce.eventbrite.it)
05/22 – Legend Club, Milano (MI) , Italy w/ Rebeldevil
06/01 - LIVE 23 - Alessandria (AL) , Italy
06/27 - Lo Chalet Rock Pub - Costamasnaga (LC) , Italy
07/18 - BERGAMO, Italy – TBA

We’re working very hard to bring our debut album wherever we can, so I really hope to make some tours outside of Italy very soon: maybe Europe or USA, who knows. You should come see us because we put every drop of ourselves in this band, trying to push it as far as we can and when we play live we can really give meaning to the whole process giving 100% fiscally and mentally.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

We've just released an unplugged version of “Red Wet Lips” (track from “ANR”) with a cool live studio video (thanks RecLab Studios). So check our official YouTube channel out to see it.
We’re trying to play as much as possible right now, so we really hope to play live the whole year.
Meanwhile we’re throwing each other some ideas, but nothing is really ready now. So we’ll keep working on it.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Really happy to answer… everywhere! You can find the entire album “ANR” on Spotify for free streaming! You can also buy it on iTunes, Amazon.com and BigCartel. For news and the infos you can find Anewrage just typing it on Google: we are on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Soundcloud, Instagram and in a lot webzines’ interviews and reviews around the net!

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

The energy. I’m really proud of what I listen to when I put our album on, because I really feel the energy we all put in this record. I can feel and almost touch all the emotions we wanted to put into it: the rage, the sadness, the happiness, the sickness… It’s a honest album, made by honest people for honest listeners! And I really hope you will enjoy it, spread the word and follow us! Cheers!

Anthem Rock group The Illumination has released a new lyric video for their song "A Chance To Change My Ways". The song was originally on the band's 2013 InVogue Records release "Departures", but the group decided to re-invent the song acoustically. This track marks The Illumination's change in genre from a post-hardcore band to a style that would be recommended for fans of 30 Seconds to Mars, Imagine Dragons, and PVRIS.

The acoustic version of "A Chance To Change My Ways" was produced by Nick Ingram (For Today, Before Their Eyes, City Lights) and mixed by Samuel Winter. The reinvigorated track breathes new life into the original composition, weaving warm harmonies with beautifully crafted instrumentation.

"We are extremely excited to release the acoustic version of 'A Chance To Change My Ways'," says vocalist/guitarist Rod Pires. "This song has helped me understand that in life, when there's an end, there's also a new beginning, and we should never apologize for who we are. This ones from the bottom of my heart. "

Check it out HERE.

Scarlet Serenity is a three piece Rock band from Grande Prairie, Alberta. Fusing pop-punk with a love for metal Scarlet Serenity are quickly becoming a common name and the boys took some time to discuss their upcoming EP, the Real Sick tour and more!

1. Introduce yourself, tell me what you do in Scarlet Serenity, and how long the band has been together?

Joseph: I'm Joseph Lawless I play the guitar and sing for Scarlet Serenity, I began the vision of Scarlet Serenity when I was about 13.

Broden: I am Broden Eagles and I play bass in Scarlet Serenity. We formed less than a year ago.

Kyle: I'm Kyle Langdon and we've been kicking around for a year now as the real deal.

2. Can I get a backstory on the band/ band biography?

Joseph: Long story short, I some how convinced these guys to pretty much give up anything and everything in their lives to pursue this crazy little dream with me. I'm more thankful than words can explain and I love these guys.

Broden: I don't really think we have one, aside from like... When we all met. At first Joseph and I hated each other and now we're inseparable.

Kyle: As little hooligans in school I met Joseph and my mother wouldn't let me hangout with the kid but I knew there was something special. I met Broden through Joseph and here we are, blood brothers till the end.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

Joseph: We're based out of Grande Prairie, Alberta. Alberta actually has a bumpin' music scene. Do yourself a favor and check out my boys in Arrival Of Autumn.

Broden: The music scene is a lot different than most places. There isn't much of it but you can always tell that it's there ya'know?

Kyle: From what I've seen with the local music scene, bands are more about being flashy elitists and worrying about other bands than creating art. I have no friends.

4. How did you guys come up with your band name?

Joseph: I was looking for something with almost a Guns N' Roses vibe to it. Simple, rolls off the tongue but also has some sort of positive and negative imagery because I don't care if you're Jesus fuckin Christ, everyone has two faces. [Laughs]

5. What bands have influenced your band and its sound?

Joseph: Guns N' Roses, Motley Crue and Fall Out Boy are my jam!

Broden: Avenged Sevenfold, Black Veil Brides, Escape the Fate.

Kyle: Personally I love Jack White, band influences would be Avenged Sevenfold, Guns N' Roses.

6. What lyrical theme do you guys use in your music? What message do you want to send?

Joseph: We're a band who looks forward to evolution, that being said our lyrics always vary depending on the song. If anything we just want people to know that there are people out there who are just as fucked up as you and together our voices will echo for eternity. I just want Scarlet Serenity to mean as much to someone else as it does to me.

Broden: Basically just do whatever the fuck you want and own up to the consequences of your actions.

Kyle: I want people to be comfortable in their own skin. Don't walk around like you own the world, walk around like you own the ground you walk on.

7. So what can you tell me about this new EP?

Joseph: Our EP is called 'Bad Jokes & Half Truths' and is set for release late June/Early July, 2015.
It's sexy, dirty, poppy and heavy.

Broden: It's the best damn record I've ever heard. [Laughs]

Kyle: Broden knows whats up!

8. Where are you recording the EP?

Joseph: We're self-producing it straight from our apartment to be honest. We really dig the old school raw DIY vibe.

Broden: There is no place like home baby.

Kyle: Our mother fucking home.

9. How is the vibe in the studio?

Joseph: Considering that we do it from home the vibe is always really chill and relaxed.

Broden: Very rock n roll. Booze, cigarettes, the lifestyle of making music. Music being everything and not really giving a shit about anyone's perspective on you.

Kyle: Every day it's different. There are days where it's chill, it's stressful, it feels like my utopia. My kinda place.

10. Where are you in the recording process of the new EP?

Joseph: I would say we're roughly 60% through production. We plan on doing a lot of rad things to promote it and can't wait!

11. Did the band have any definitive goals they were shooting for before the recording process began for this EP?

Joseph: Personally I was just tired of all these sub-genres and wannabes. I wanted something cool and exciting. Real genuine rock n roll. I'm tired of self-proclaimed "Rockstars" preaching about how this isn't cool or that isn't rock n roll enough. Just be yourself.

Broden: Not really, we just kinda went in, wrote what we thought sounded cool and went from there. Bad Jokes and Half Truths was the outcome.

Kyle: We just wanted to be the biggest damn band in the world, a rock n roll masterpiece.

12. Is there any story or concept behind the "Bad Jokes & Half Truths" title?

Joseph: It pokes fun at the amount of shit talkers and word twisters out there. There seems to always be 3 sides to the story and you never really know if to laugh or consider the truth.

Broden: If it's giving me attention I really don't give a shit, let's give em' something to talk about!

Kyle: It's about people judging you before they know what you're actually capable of. People can say what they want but until your actions prove what you're saying you don't really know who I am.

13. Who did the cover art for "Bad Jokes & Half Truths" and how much input did you have on it?

Joseph: My good friend Scott Cumming designed it. I've worked with Scott for years and I pitched him the vision I had for the artwork and to no surprise he brought it to life, and a fantastic job at that.

14. Are you using any new instrumentation you've never used in the recording process before?

Joseph: We've been experimenting with samples and stuff a little, it sounds sick.

Broden: I'm playing bass which is pretty cool coming from a guitarist background.

Kyle: I've never really played drums until one day I hopped on a kit and the boys were like "You can drum!" Can't say I've ever used a DAW but I've learned a fuck ton.

15. Did you feel any pressure whatsoever?

Joseph: Being our debut release it was nice in a way because there were no outside expectations or a reputation to live up to. This EP is pretty much a demo with some glitter and Jack Daniels mixed in, so getting our foot through the door might be some sort of pressure I guess.

Broden: A little bit at the start because I wasn't sure how it would all go down. It really impressed me and it's better than I had expected.

Kyle: Nah dude, I felt no pressure going into this EP. It came natural to all three of us.

16. When did you start writing for this EP?

Joseph: I began writing Bad Jokes & Half Truths in the summer of 2014 shortly after a breif taste of success almost made my head explode.

17. Can you select two songs from "Bad Jokes & Half Truths" and tell us what inspired the lyrics for them?

Joseph: 'Wretched Days' is a little bit out me being kinda troubled with myself. Different problems and choosing various ways to cope with those problems knowing it could lead to my destruction. It eventually comes full circle in a "You'll remember me" type way. My mind has always been a little hot and cold but it makes for great entertainment. We also have this rad opener to the EP that doesn't exactly have any lyrical content but it's really cool in almost a Tim Burton/American Horror Story vibe.

18. What can the fans see from you guys in the future?

Joseph: We're teaming up with Rise or Die Promotions as part of a compilation disk that will be distributed on select dates of the Real Sick tour co-headlined by Chelsea Grin and The Word Alive brought to you by Monster Energy. The tour kicks off on April 28th in St. Paul, MN and ends on May 23rd in Mexico City, MX. The compilation will feature an unreleased Scarlet Serenity song and will be limited to 1500 copies to those attending select tour dates only. Five lucky fans will get a signed physical copy from the band for free chosen from our Facebook like list at random. Tickets for the Real Sick tour are available at http://ticketspin.com/the-word-alive.

Broden: We're broadcasting a livestream on April 20th at 9:00PM Pacific time (USA/Canada). Check out our Facebook for more details.

Kyle: Our debut EP 'Bad Jokes & Half Truths' will be available this summer. Be on the lookout for it everywhere! Thank you to our fans, friends, families and everyone who has stood by our side and supported us. Let's take over the world. Back in 2008, Willow Wisp had come across the metal scene at a festival of all things, since witnessing their performance back then, the band has been keeping themselves busy, playing more shows, touring, releasing music etc. Then they decided to come back, to do it all over again, with a few new additions, including further plans for all new creations! The following members took the time to give us a rundown on the band's past, present, and future activity.

M6D6M6A (Vocals)
Wendigo (Guitar)
Toe Knee (Drums)

1. First of all, who are you, and what do you do in the band?

Toe Knee: I am Toe Knee F. Corpse-Reverse Percussion, Acidic throat torment, Edgar Allan Poetry. I also compose the majority of the psychologically menacing music and lyrics tempered with lies and lye.

Wendigo: I am Wendigo and I play guitar.

M6D6M6A: I am M6D6M6A, I do vocals for Willow Wisp as well as some song and lyric writing.

2. Can you give those of us who aren't familiar with Willow Wisp a brief history of the band and can you please describe your sound for those who have yet to hear your music?

Toe Knee: I formed the band in 1987 with co founder Air Ick. The group began initially under the influences of early Shock Rock, Glam, Thrash and Black Metal. Our dream was to meld a  cohesive union of all those vastly different styles and thus form a new Crossbreed. Our blessing and our curse has always been our diversity.

M6D6M6A: Since 2007 when I joined the band, Willow Wisp has taken a sharp turn towards extreme blackened death metal while still retaining the originality and balls to play softer and mellower songs aimed more at unsettling and disturbing listeners rather than completely tearing their faces off.  We're sort of like a true metal lover's wet dream, with some songs being extremely technical, some sounding more like traditional black metal, some almost pretty enough for radio play, and everything in between.

3. How did a name like Willow Wisp come into the picture? What does this name represent or mean if anything at all?

Toe Knee: There truly is no mystery to the moniker. I innocently stumbled across two words that I thought had a nice cohesion and put them together. Later I discovered the folkloric legend of Wil o' the wisp which is basically a mythical fire fleck that you follow trance like into the deepest bowels of the forest and  eventually die unable to find your way out.Our compositions as well as lyrical content and the theatrical nature of our stage performance often has that affect on various humans.

4. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

Toe Knee: We are based out of Hardlyweird, California. The music scene is good if you search properly. Some of my personal favorite local bands include Sadistic Intent, Rebel Rebel, Chelsea Wolfe, Untoward Children, Harlequin, Nokturne, Salems Lott and Black Heroin Gallery.

5. Why did you want to go and do the whole costume aspect and make-up appeal, what is it about these things that work so well for Willow Wisp?

Toe Knee: Truth be told it all stems from Kiss. As a child I was utterly perplexed and possessed by them. This sickness carried over into my adulthood. Mind you I later got into more extreme music but modeled the Willow Wisp stage antics after Kiss. As the years passed into eternity we morphed into a more deranged hydra. The music became harsher thus the performance followed suite. Nowadays we are more like Watain meets G.G. Allin by way of Alice Cooper. It works well because if you practice magic properly you get optimal results.

M6D6M6A: What works well is that we simply bring out the monsters inside us and use that as inspiration for our look.  We shun the traditional corpse paint in favor of colors and a more theatrical demonic take on our makeup.  I put our look up against pretty much anyone in the genre.

6. How long does it take for you to get all dolled up for one of your showcases?

Toe Knee: I have honed it down to a science. My face is the blank canvas brought to life by Cosmetic voodoo. The makeup is a blanket and shield as well as a statement of separation from the herd of the normal and mundane.

M6D6M6A: Not long at this point.  It's like slipping on a second skin.

7. Who are your musical and non-musical influences?

Toe Knee: My musical influences range from Voi Vod, KISS and Iron Maiden to Cradle Of Filth, Behemoth, Triptykon and Cannibal Corpse to Chelsea Wolfe, The Doors and Janis Joplin. Diversity is key. Non musical likes include Horror movies, exercise, coffee, occultism, drawing/painting, writing poetry and reading.

Wendigo: My musical influences: Neurosis, Suffocation, Om, Slayer, 1349, Electric Wizard, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, The Melvins, Defeated Sanity, Insect Warfare, Acid King, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Today is the Day, Incantation, Toxic Holocaust, Dying Fetus, Boris.
Non Musical Influences: Aldous Huxley, Philip K. Dick, Carlos Castañeda, Hunter S. Thompson, Charles Bukowski, Stephen King, Kurt Vonnegut Jr., David Lynch, Takashi Miike.

M6D6M6A: Musical influences include Belphegor, Opeth, Dark Funeral, Dying Fetus, Dimmu Borgir etc. Biggest non-musical influence is the occult of course as while as MDMA, otherwise known as the drug Ecstasy. It allowed me early on to tap into the most depraved, twisted, disturbing parts of my mind and ever since then I can do it at will, and anyone that has seen me on stage with the Wisp know that as a performer I am bringing to life those parts of my mind.

8. What are your songs about? (What specific themes do they cover?)

Toe Knee: Our dire and drear decomposition's consist of a heady mix of variously divergent subject matters including-Death and it's processes, suicide, love, hate, tolerance, intolerance, solitude, overpopulation, nature, the ineptitude and prowess of different gods, social conformity and rebellion, occult empowerment, self belief, self doubt, lust, depravity, sexual taboos,  etc. Currently we are aiming to push the buttons of the world by attacking the Islamic nation and their worthless Lord Muhammed and championing lawless, underage, perverted sex with minors. In the context of lyrics of course.

Wendigo: The human psyche and how deep one can plunge into the abyss of hell.

M6D6M6A: Our themes have always been eclectic, ranging from the occult to vanity to murder to technology and so on.  I am happy to say that currently we are pushing the envelope with our themes more than ever, focusing on two very taboo subjects; Islam and pedophilia.

9. Do you write your own songs? (Discuss the songwriting process in detail.)

Toe Knee: I create 85 percent of every Wisp manifesto, musically as well as lyrically. I prefer to construct homages to life's follies whilst defecating. It is also inspiring to write in cemeteries, closets, attics and cellars.

M6D6M6A: Toeknee has always been the main song writing force within the band, but as time goes on and more capable members are added, the onus of song writing is being spread around more than ever, which helps us create and even more eclectic sound then we are use to.

10. What image do you think your music conveys?

Toe Knee: Images that relate to every emotion mankind is able to experience.

Wendigo: Depravity.

11. Are you guys currently signed or unsigned?

Toe Knee: Currently not shackled to any labels incredulous goal to siphon us of our lifeblood by feeding their greed with the spoils of our creativity. We will be recording and shopping new tunes in due haste though.

12. You have released four full-length albums, would you consider performing any in their entirety front to back?

Toe Knee: Good question but that is definitely years down the line. We need to establish a broader future corpse fan base first. Get the people more familiar with our vast and decades long catalog.

M6D6M6A: That would certainly be interesting for me to step into Air-ick's shoes for a while and sing some of the Willow Wisp oldies.  Maybe he can make a guest appearance and we can do an old school/new school willow wisp set......?

13. Would you ever consider releasing any of your material as a acoustic release?

Toe Knee: That thought has been germinating in our rotting craniums for years. Some of our songs are extremely melodic and beautiful which lends credence to them being reinterpreted acoustically. "Suicide In The Swamp" being an exemplary example.

Wendigo: Going acoustic would provide a great contrast to the subject matter and presentation. I am all for it, if only to dumbfound our audience that much further.

M6D6M6A: We have an acoustic song or two and yes the idea has been batted around.  Anything weird or original we have considered.

14. You guys have yet to release a live album or live DVD, when can we expect to see one of these from you guys?

Toe Knee: The future is the only answer that shall suffice.

M6D6M6A: I'm confident in saying that Willow Wisp is one of the best live bands around, so when that DVD does come out you're gonna wanna pick that shit up ASAP.

15. What's new in the making of your music?

Toe Knee: So far some of our newest psychological grenades include- "Beheading Muhammed", "A Dark Soul Staring Into Black Mirrors", "Rues Of A Pedophile", "Suicide In The Swamp", "Spectre In A Ghost Town", "Cataclysmic Orgasm", "We Are Just Another Breed Of Alien",etc.  Good wholesome fun for the whole family.

Wendigo: Morbid, soothing, venomous, divine, gargantuan, dissonant, are my words to convey the new material.

M6D6M6A: Our technical songs are more technical, our beautiful songs are even more beautiful, and in general everyone has stepped up their game to truly make a push for greatness and get this band the recognition it deserves.

16. First and only time seeing you was at the Appease The Beast 2 Festival  in 2008 at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood, California. For those who may have not seen you live before could you describe your show visually and musically for us?

Toe Knee: Visually-Scary, funny, offensive, confounding, evil, overbearing, outmoded yet futuristic, filthy but clean, ridiculous, over the top, sexy yet ugly. Lots of blood (real and staged), puke and odor combined with our legendary antics such as "Reverse, tribal, double bass drumming, "The Upside down Puking Crab" and the infamous "Trash Can Murder Ritual".  My personal agenda is to appear like a cross between a zombie, a cheap 42nd street hooker and a holocaust survivor.
Musically-Somber, devastating, melodic, discordant, ethereal, hectic, bombastic, ponderous, brutal.

M6D6M6A: If you like bands who stand there and play their music will little emotion or gusto, then you're gonna wanna stay as far away from a Wisp show as you can.

17. During that show's performance that vocalist, wasn't drenched but covered in a red liquid, was this really the obvious?

Toe Knee: M6D6M6A is covered in a slew of decrepit moss, dust and dirt encrusted stage gear and a mix of blood (real and stage).

M6D6M6A: To be honest the blood you see on stage is always a mix of real and fake.  I try not cut myself and bleed all over the place but it's hard not to when you lose control of your senses.

18. If it was indeed blood, did this vocalist, inflict live pain  to embrace that live look and feel or was it all previously placed on to assume that effect?

Toe Knee: Willow Wisp is an obscure mix of DNA. Some is stage blood and some is the real life force. The beauty and mystery is trying to figure out which is which.

M6D6M6A: Again, it's all just so maddening and crazy on stage that things happen, but I do not purposefully make cuts or wounds before or after a show to induce bleeding.

19. At this same performance there was a keyboardist in your band Eyajo Joseph, who's also involved in other projects and bands, but was he a legit member of Willow Wisp? Him and I have chatted about his other acts and he had told me he was filling in for that performance?

Toe Knee: 19. Eyajo was a temporary fill in. He was only in the band a few months. One thing that our temporary union reaped was the collaboration we did on "The Deadman's Ballad" which appears on our Antihuman Manifesto album. A very esoteric and ethereal nightmare of a song.

M6D6M6A: Ejayo is a great guy and everyone should check out Black Heroin Gallery, also with Toeknee on the drums, but his membership with the Wisp was very short lived.  He's more of a deathrock guy.

20. Do you have any plans for playing any shows or doing any tours for this year?

Toe Knee: The Hub in Colton, California. on Saturday May 16, The Whisky on May 28 in Hollywood, California and few dates in San Francisco, California in July (TBA).

M6D6M6A: For me the primary goal this year is recording, which we will be doing in February.  After that I would love to get back on stage.

21. What plans do you have for the near future as a band?

Toe Knee: To perform as many shows as possible and begin recording a new full length album. We shall continue to titillate, confound and entertain with Satan at our side.

22. What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?

Toe Knee: They should know that Willow Wisp has a rich history and is assuredly one of the most intensely driven and possessed bands that ever traversed the dirty streets of Los Angeles. We are a special group. Mentally challenging and diverse. We can cater to many people while still maintaining our own ethics and codes. An anomaly to be sure.

Wendigo: We are one of the strangest, most eerily at home, paradoxical acts in the world.

23. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Toe Knee: We are on a plethora of media sites (Reverb Nation, CD Baby, Spotify, YouTube, etc.) You can also contact us directly at 818-749-2058!

Wendigo: Spotify, bandcamp, Facebook, YouTube.

24. What is it you'd like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

Toe Knee: How unique we were in our crafting of musical arrangements and how literate the words were. In essence a quartet you could learn from. Defy The Mundane!

Wendigo: To keep an open mind/ear and let the fangs of our frequencies sink deep into your subconscious.

M6D6M6A: Simply that Willow Wisp really is a great and original band that doesn't adhere to traditional metal tropes.

"New Level of Malevolence" - New album the 29th of May - Digital single the 27th of March
Sterbhaus of Stockholm Sweden who recently signed with Black Lodge will release their follow up to the acclaimed album "Angels for Breakfast ...And God for Lunch" on the 29th of May.

The album is entitled "New Level of Malevolence" and unveiled is now finally not only the tracklist but also the stunning new artwork - true to the preceding release, courtesy of artist Gyula Havancsák (Annihilator, Destruction, Stratovarius etc).

On the 27th of March - the very day Sterbhaus is performing at the Black ´n´ Trash Inferno festival in Oberhausen/Germany with Endstille, Nargaroth among others the quartet also releases a first digital single for the song "Necrostabbing the Corpsefinder" taken from "New Level of Malevolence".

Sterbhaus who spent 2013 touring as support for Vader, Melechesh and Shining went on to use most of last year finalizing the preproduction as well as finally recording the album during the autumn. Ronnie Björnström (AEON) did the mixing and the band now gears up for heavy touring again. In October Sterbhaus is confirmed as main support for the second leg of "Serpens of Anima" boasting Anaal Nathrakh and Benighted. More tours, shows and festivals are to be announced.

TRACKLISTING:

1. Grudgeholder + Hatemonger
2. El Giftus Satanus
3. Necrostabbing the Corpsefinder
4. Bloodbarf
5. Crossed and Pissed and Devoured
6. New Level of Malevolence
7. Baby Jee and the 3 Stalkers
8. The King of the Red
9. It Came from the Brain
10. The Grand Theology

"New Level of Malevolence" sees Sterbhaus reinventing themselves once more developing their brand of "Metal Deluxe" - the timeless and honest equivalent of Black/Death/Thrash/Heavy Metal that is neither retro nor modern. For those familiar with Sterbhaus dark and twisted humoristic personality, there is as always a good portion of the bands witful and suspiciously sinister characteristics in both lyrics and music thru out the album.

As usual, one can expect a wide array of bizarre videos preceding the album release (in collaboration with filmmaker Martin Strandberg known from Shining videos and documentary, Snowy Shaw DVD, Sabaton). To those unfamiliar with the Sterbhaus back catalogue of videos, this is a good chance to check them out:

With influences ranging from Korn and Slipknot to Trivium and Megadeth along with Suicide Silence and Children Of Bodom, it is no surprise to see why the Casket Of Cassandra’s blend of metalcore, thrash metal, and female vocals has garnered them a devoted fanbase in the past six years. That devoted fanbase has led to the recent Ladies Of Metal sponsorship and the just announced joining to the management firm The Sights Set North Agency, which is owned by It Lies Within’s vocalist Zach Main. On their new management Amanda Maddera commented, “We are so incredibly excited to be working with The Sights Set North Agency. What brought our attention is the amount of attention they give to their bands. We know we can expect great things from them and vice versa!”

Max Vaccaro, General Manager of earMUSIC comments, “During the first five years of earMUSIC, we have seen our label becoming a constant presence on the charts all over Europe. After some excellent years with our close friends at Eagle, we now feel its time to ‘walk on our own two feet’ and start developing our own presence in the United States. We approach this step in the most important market in the world knowing how challenging it will be to be as successful as we are in Europe. In a market where some of the best companies operate, we feel strong with having met a partner like eOne to share this ambition with.”

Michael Healy, Executive Vice President of eOne Music, states, “We feel very fortunate to be able to add EarMUSIC to our strong list of labels and artists. It will be exciting to be a part of their continued success as they take these next steps to expand their footprint in the U.S. marketplace.

Scott Givens, VP Metal of eOne Music, adds, “I am thrilled to have earMUSIC join eOne Distribution and look forward to working with Max and his staff.  This is another example of eOne’s ongoing commitment to the rock and metal genres.”

Internationally, earMUSIC's roster in Europe boasts some of the biggest names in rock music, including Deep Purple, Chickenfoot, Status Quo, Ash, Foreigner, Tarja, Thunder, Joe Jackson, Dragonforce, Gamma Ray, Kevin Costner & Modern West, Stratovarius, Baby Metal, Christopher Cross, and many others.

eOne Distribution is the largest independent music and video distributor in North America and holds the highest market share of any independent. The first set of releases for May under this new deal are as follows:

May 12

Deep Purple, Long Beach 1971: The release is the latest in earMUSIC's Deep Purple live series of the past two years, boasting rare material. Recorded at the Long Beach Arena on July 30, 1971 and broadcast on KUSC, 91.5 FM, this is a "must own" for fans of Deep Purple, spanning over 70 minutes of music that was remastered in 2014. earMUSIC has reached Gold Status with Deep Purple latest release “NOW What?!” in Germany where it charted at No. 1, and achieved over 10 top 10 positions worldwide, four of which were No. 1.

Angra, Secret Garden: Brazilian metal icons Angra, who have been a unit for two decades, are releasing their first music in over four years in the form of Secret Garden. It's a concept album which asks a critical question: Can something that does not exist to the eyes, or is not perceived by the senses, be considered as non-existent?

SOTO, Inside the Vertigo: Soto casts vocalist Jeff Scott Soto, formerly of Journey, amidst talented young turks who know their way around their instruments. The album is cathartic, as it finds Soto releasing the buildup of tension and frustration he has dealt with over the past several years, making for a fascinating listen that rock fans will love and be unable to turn away from.

May 26

Thunder, Wonder Days: One of the most enduring British bands of the past two decades, Thunder roar again with their 10th studio album—their first in six years. Their sound is a timeless marriage of unforgettable melodies and sheer rock power and they have rightfully ascended into the rock pantheon. The album entered the UK Top 10, a first for the band in over 20 years.

ASH Kablammo!: A brand new studio album from the pop-punk sensations Ash, one of the most successful bands to emerge from Ireland in the last 20 years, is upon us. The album offers a great collection of instant classics for a band that has managed to stop time. It's a return home, as Ash had enjoyed great success in collaboration with the Edel network for their first three seminal albums.

June 9

Gamma Ray, Best Of: The German power metal institution offers a selection of their best, most representative songs on one album! It's a collection of true greatness preparing the way to a complete catalogue reissue with extra disc made of brand new exclusive material.

Driven by the old school death metal style source, the guys in Carnation, have been writing and recording for their debut they like to call "Cemetery Of The Insane". That being said, they have also set sights on playing shows and touring to likely follow through. Frontman vocalist Simon Duson discusses their debut effort with further plans in-store.

1. What type of band are you?

Simon: Carnation is a five member death metal band from Belgium. Our sound is a mixture of influences from the Swedish and American death metal legends.

2. Tell us the brief history of your band.

Simon: Most of the members know each other from other bands or just from the Belgian metal scene. Our history as a band begins in May 2013, this month was the first time that all five members started working on the project together. This year mostly consisted of songwriting and crafting our sound. In 2014 we started working on our first release “Cemetery Of The Insane”. We recorded this release in our home studio during Spring. We really took our time during this process to shape the record exactly like we wanted it to be. Later this year we signed a deal with Final Gate Records and now our debut will be released on 28 March 2015.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

Simon: We’re based in the Heist-op-den-Berg area in Belgium, more specifically in Antwerp. But Belgium is such a small country that all the local bands get to know each other pretty quickly. Some great underground bands that we could recommend are Disinterred, Bones and Hammerhead.

4. What is the story behind the name, Carnation, if there is one to tell?

Simon: There is not one specific story behind the name, we liked the sound of it and chose to use this. Later on we've discovered other links to this name, such as a series of murders that happened in the town called Carnation in the United States.

5. Who are your musical influences?

Simon: We’re mainly influenced by the Swedish and American death metal bands. Our guitar sound is more focused on the Swedish sound of bands like Entombed and Dismember and our drumming has a more American approach such as Deicide or Morbid Angel. The main influence for the vocals is definitely Bloodbath, both Mikael Akerfeldt and Peter Tagtgren are held in high regard by our vocalist. We try to create a fresh mix while combining these influences.

6. What are your songs about? (What specific themes do they cover?)

Simon: Most of the songs are about witnessing or perceiving a very morbid or macabre situation or scene. Themes are about rituals, sacrifice, necromancy, atheism, suffering and tyranny.

7. Do you write your own songs? (Discuss the songwriting process in detail.)

Simon: Several members create their own ideas at home and take these ideas to the rehearsal room, this is where we assemble the full songs and give our opinion on what needs to change for the final piece. After the music is fully written, our vocalist creates the lyrics for this track to finish the song. This process takes a lot of time but everyone can give their input and opinion and it’s the most natural way of working to us.

8. You have your new release "Cemetery Of The Insane", what can people expect from it?

Simon: This debut EP is the perfect representation of what we want to sound like with our band. It should be an appetizer to death metal fanatics and an introduction for them to who we are. The songwriting for the full length release, which we’re currently working on, will continue where the debut EP started out.

9. If you had to pick one song off the new release, to show someone to introduce them to your music, which would you pick?

Simon: The whole EP has many different kind of paces and structures. It’s a pretty short debut and we’d like to think that this whole product showcases exactly what we represent. The final track, “The Great Deceiver”, might be the best track to witness the wide range of aspects on this release.

10. How does it feel to have this release under your belts and added to the Carnation name?

Simon: This is our first release and it feels great!

11. Why did you see Final Gate Records as your record label home?

Simon: Final Gate is a German record label, we feel that the scene in Germany will be a great place to promote our music. This definitely influenced our decision to sign with Final Gate. So far we have been very welcome in Germany and we hope to expand our range from here on out.

12. Did you guys have any leftovers from this release that will be used for future releases or have you gone forth and already written material for future purposes?

Simon: We’re currently writing the full length release. We aim to return to our home studio in the summer period to create our next work.

13. How have the gigs you guys been doing been going?

Simon: The response has been overwhelming, we’re slowly building up our name at a steady pace thanks to the support we've received from everywhere so far. Thank you very much for your dedication.

14. What do you guys have planned for the unforeseen future?

Simon: We have our release show scheduled on the 28th of March in Edegem, near Antwerp. Entrails will be headlining this event and we’re very much looking forward to this evening. During the summer period we will perform at both In Flammen Open Air festival and also Deathfest Open Air in Germany. These two festivals have very awesome bills and we’re very fortunate to have the opportunity to play here.

15. Anything else you'd like to add or would want to say?

Simon: Thank you for this interview and the interest in our music. Keep supporting old school death metal!

LORDS OF THE TRIDENT have confirmed the addition of their new lead guitarist to their dual six string weapon department.

Lead vocalist Fang VonWrathenstein has checked in with the following update: "We are extremely excited to announce that we have confirmed a new immortal lead guitar player. Brian states: "It is with great ardor and privilege that I join forces with the Lords of the Trident on lead guitar. I eagerly await the pillaging, plundering, sonic mayhem and world domination that will undoubtedly ensue!"

In other GWAR news, your Lords and Masters will be travelling back in time to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the film Empire Records, in which they had a starring role.  GWAR will make an appearance during the anniversary Celebration in Brooklyn, NY April 8th - 10th.  More details on GWAR's invasion of Brooklyn, NY can be seen HERE.

Finally March 23rd marked a sad anniversary in the GWAR family, as it was the one-year anniversary of founding member Dave Brockie's (Oderus Urungus) final journey to Valhalla.  We celebrate him on this day as we celebrate and worship him every day.  Hail Oderus!

The Amatory Murder have released their new video for the song "My Nightmare". "Continuing our theme of psychological anxiety and terror, the video was directed by David Bunting and contains subtle references to such taboo topics as the Illuminati, self-degradation, and dream analysis. Our main character is broken down throughout the song, questioning what is actually waking life and what is subconscious. Evident too is the influence from one of our greatest musical inspirations, Pink Floyd. We hope our family of Murderers enjoy this visual work of art as much as we enjoyed making it." - The Amatory Murder. Check it out HERE.
