Reanimator Rises Metalhorns High to the Sky


Thrash metal enthusiasts Reanimator have blended thrash metal by taking it old school and new school creating it's own element. Thus these guys simply are ready to kick ass! That said, they have been moving forward release after releasing including most recent full-length album "Horns Up" with plans on touring as much as they can! Check out their discussion on this release and plans ahead!


1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

The band was formed in 2005 by Patrick Martin (Actual Lead Singer) and Maxime Cormier(Ex-Bass Player) with Julien Couture(Guitar), Etienne Boucher(Guitar) and Alex Gascon(Drums). Since the formation of the band, the line up has change a couple of times and Patrick is still leading Reanimator with Frank Labelle on drums, Fred Bizier on Bass  Joel Racine and Ludovic Bastien on Guitars.

2. Why did you pick the name that you did for your band?

Back in 2005 when we started the band we wanted to bring back Thrash Metal to life, so we decided to use Reanimator.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We're based in Montreal(Canada) and there is a big metal scene here in Quebec/Canada. Lots of shows every night, some great festivals(Heavy Montreal, Trois-Rivière Metalfest, Montebello Rockfest. There is a lot of bands here in Montreal, if you're into Thrash Metal you can check out Alcoholator, Eternal Judgment, Chemical Way, Canceric, OpenYourMind.

4. How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?

We like to describe our band as a Thrash N' Roll band. We're influenced by band such as Megadeth, Anthrax, Exodus, Annihilator, Voivod, Pantera, Suicidal Tendencies and way much more

5. What can people expect from this new album, why should they be interested and check it out?

This new album is called "Horns Up" and it's filled with furious headbangers riffs! Thrash Metal fans will love to blast this record on the highway!

6. Do you play live as well? What do you have planned in terms of shows and touring, if any?

Yeah, we play a lot live here in Quebec/Canada. We're planning on doing a lot of shows in the next months to promote our new album!

7. What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?

Reanimator is 10 years old now and we work hard every day to give you the best Thrash songs to headbang to!

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Write new stuffs for an upcoming album and tour as much as we can. We want to visit a lot a countries to meet new metal fans!

10. What is it you?d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
