Alternative hard rock metal trio, Seven Day Sleep, have got a new song called "Red Lipstick Murders", they have released. The track comes off their forthcoming EP titled "A Home for Disgusting Fairies". Taking roots from the U.S., Turkey, and Switzerland, the groups decides on the approach of eclectic, with their sound for this release, due out this summer! Find out what the band had to say about said release, the new song, and other plans in-store for them.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Well Seven Day Sleep hasn’t been a band for long. Can (Bass and Keyboards) and Okan (Guitar) have been writing the EP for about two years and moved to the USA in 2016 where the EP started getting recorded in Cleveland and then Sofia (Vocalist) joined the band in August 2016 where we finished recording vocals in Los Angeles at MDDN studios. “A Home For Disgusting Fairies” is the first EP we are releasing so we are very excited and anxious to see everyone’s reaction but so far our single, Red Lipstick murders, has been getting a great response.

2. What is the origin of the band name?

Actually Seven Day Sleep was the Air B&B where Can and Okan first stayed at when the moved to the USA. Of course it has grown to be more than just an Air B&B name. The more we write and start creating the vision we want for the band and express who we are as musicians and artist to me it also symbolizes our everyday life and if we are actually aware of who we are as the human race and I guess you can argue that maybe we are constantly asleep and living in a dream that we feel is a reality. Which is what music can sometimes do to you. Take you to this alternate universe where you disappear for a second.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We are currently based in Los Angeles and the music scene here is constantly growing and evolving, it’s great because you can always find something new or different to listen to. Two bands that I recommend keeping an ear out for is Spare Me Graceful and Till Skies Fall. These are great bands that have worked to make everything they have possible and are genuine people with such talent. Love there music.

4. How would you describe your style?

We would like to think our style is a bit unique. It really has elements for people that listen to all types of genera’s. It has your Rock, your heavy Metal but it also has soft melodies and a beat that you can dance to but also mosh out to. One of the biggest elements that makes our music stand out from the Rock and Metal world is in some songs the chord progressions and melodies showing the influence of Turkish music.

5. What can you tell me about your track "Red Lipstick Murders"?

Well it’s ours single off of our EP for a reason. It sums out our general message of what we talk about through our songs. The story line is about a witch, whose coven has been slaughtered and she’s out to get revenge on the killers. The message is pretty much for anyone who is ever been put down by others or if someone ever felt unwanted because of someone else’s actions it’s the expression of f**k them and keep moving forward. Of course the song’s expresses it with more hatred but that is how we have felt with our experiences in the past.

6. Does this track come off your EP "A Home for Disgusting Fairies"? When will that be released and why should people check it out?

Yes it. The full EP will be released on June 2nd.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We have only played local shows, we recently played The Viper Room and that was so much fun! Our next upcoming show is on March 30th at Characters in Pamona. Hopefully we can get a tour going with some of our friends bands in LA, that would be so much fun!

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Well besides trying to play as many shows as possible we want to get some live footage, record some of our songs acoustically and hopefully get a second video done. After doing pushing out our EP we want to of course start writing more music, more music and more music.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

You can listen to our music for free on Spotify, Youtube, Soundcloud, AppleMusic or you can purchase our music through iTunes

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

Well our music has a lot of different elements. It has it’s typical Rock and metal parts but it also has a lot of Turkish influences and melodies that aren’t your typical sound so I think that gets people engaged because it really has a blend of a lot of different musical compositions. So after someone is done listening to our music I would like them to think “Waw that was awesome! How do I even describe there sound?”
