Seattle sludge band Smooth Sailing have teamed up with Idioteq.com to stream their new song "Stevie Ray Oiye". The song is taken from the band's upcoming split album with fellow Seattle sludge band Into The Storm
The band commented "The instrumental arrangements for each track are nods to people that have played an integral role in Smooth Sailing at one time or another. In this song it’s an ode to our former guitarist, Patrick. The lyrics however, are about domestic abuse. In this song a young girl saves her mother and younger sister from her physically abusive father, by hiding behind a door with a kitchen knife and stabbing him to death. Fuck abusers.”
