Emo Nite LA is an event started by three friends (Babs Szabo, T.J. Petracca and Morgan Freed) that brings together people who share the love of emo rock music from the 90’s, 2000’s, and today. Different musicians from all genres, actors and celebrities that have been inspired by emo and pop punk music like Demi Lovato, Halsey, Machine Gun Kelly, Debby Ryan, Post Malone, Kristen Stewart, Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf), Cole Sprouse and more have either DJ’d or performed at the events, which happen monthly in Los Angeles and regularly across the country in cities like New York City, San Francisco, Dallas, San Diego, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Baltimore, Minneapolis, Austin, Las Vegas, Seattle, Orlando and Portland.
Most recently, Vespera teamed up with The Jed Foundation - https://www.jedfoundation.org/ to start a dialogue on suicide, addiction, and general mental health. With his op-ed essay and the release of the latest single “Paradise” ft. Spencer Sotelo of Periphery, Wolfe seeks to break down the walls and share his story in hopes that others will find the confidence to continue the conversation. To do so, Wolfe went through direct training with The Jed Foundation to learn how to tackle these issues and communicate with his friends/fans on the subject.
Wolfe stated: “So many of us suffer through our addictions and depression in silence and shame, I just want people to realize that they aren't alone. I want people to have a safe place to talk about what goes on in their minds without being judged or ridiculed. Maybe if we end the stigma, so many of us won't feel so isolated. I hope my story will help push the conversation of mental health in the right direction."
“Paradise” originally premiered on Alternative Press in December 2017 and has now reached over 150,000 views on YouTube. Fans can read Wolfe’s op-ed essay and watch the video for “Paradise” now, here: http://bit.ly/2z08D3i. The single can additionally be found on Spotify’s official Rock Hard playlist.
