Hatsune Miku's Miku Expo 2018 Brings the Success to a Sold Out Los Angeles Show!

Singing sensation Hatsune Miku was the first Japanese vocaloid to be developed and distributed by Crypton Future Media Inc. But who or what is she exactly, well a vocaloid is a type of computer programming software, where tools are used to create things such as vocalization, hence forth, her singing tactics, has been gaining popularity for over ten years and counting now.

During which time, she has made several appearances within the U.S. of A. One spot in particular being Los Angeles, California! She making a reappearance in the shape and form of her successful concert tour known to many as "Miku Expo".

This year, would be around the sixth year roughly, her visitation drawing in the masses to the Microsoft Theater of Los Angeles county. Where she has played several times beforehand, including in 2011, 2014, 2016, and 2018. Back in 2016, would be my first time ever seeing Hatsune Miku live, but due to a fail meal eaten beforehand, leaving the show early occurred sadly. But this year however, was completely different and surprisingly a sold out performance, with many fans coming out of the country, just to witness her presents in the form of one of her performances of this so called "Miku Expo".

Other fans were awaiting outside the venue, hours even, just to buy some merchandise, such as t-shirts, wall scrolls, stickers, key chains, and even album releases among other items. With said items in  many fan's possession, doors were let open around 7PM on that Friday evening June 29th 2018.

As fans entered the venue, their bags were checked as they quickly strolled to their seats with others heading to the floor standing area only, with the rest buying merchandise that was not purchased prior outside the venue. Once the clock had struck 8PM though lights were slightly dimming, as announcements were made over the loud speaker, that the show was about to begin in mere minutes!

With that, the show would start off a little after 8PM, lights turning off with miniature lights in the form of glow sticks, lighting up all across the venue's floor and balcony sections, in green's, yellow's red's, blue's, and pinks! Fans waving these from all sides, to the tone of the music, as the next 2 hours and 15 minutes, were spent with an extensive set list of over 20 or so songs!

Many sung by Hatsune Miku, as well as her other vocaloid friends, like Kaito, Megurine Luka, Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, and Meiko! Each of which, sharing the spotlight, as solo performers, with others singing together on some numbers. Throughout the night though, all were in "aw" and were in pure joy to what was being performed through and through.  A guest appearance by DJ producer known as kz (livetune) appeared during Hatsune Miku's setlist, performing during such songs as "Tell Your World", as well as "Satisfaction". An assortment of other tracks were performed which included, "Miku Miku ni Shite Ageru", "Senbonzakura", "Romeo and Cinderella", "World Is Me", "Decade", and "Miku", to name off a few sung by Hatsune Miku herself. While her vocaloid friends Kagamine Rin and Kagamine Len performed "Remote Control", "8Hit", "Gemini", with Kagamine Rin p;aying "Meltdown" solo and Kagamine Len performing "Dappou Rock" solo. Kaito played the song "Doctor=Funk Beat", while "Meiko played "Boukyaku Shinjuu". Altogether 27 songs total consisted within that 2 hour and 15 minute time slot.

All in all, Hatsune Miku's return to the U.S.A. was a successor as this first stop on the 2018 rendition of the "Miku Expo" 2018 edition of said tour, would bring many to see her on day number one of several to follow. Surely many years from now, all will know who Hatsune Miku is, not just because of her music but for her recognition as an overall individual, within the Japanese scene, as it offers such a culture of variety that all can partake in enjoying!
