Life Underfoot Discusses the Joy of Living Life and Making Music

Emo go getters Life Underfoot, have a handful of releases under foot, with more content in the works. Whilst their material is fresh and new, so are some local showcases performed in the last few months, with much more in-store along the way. The band discusses what all of this means for them.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Life Underfoot is an emo band from Owego New York. We started in 2017 after a couple of our bands ended. The members include Andre Judge (Vocals/Guitar) Emory Davies (Bass) and James E. Pilipovic (Drums). Andre and Emory went to school together, but met James through friends and local shows.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Andre actually got the band name from a poster in his 10th grade biology teachers room. It was a cutout section of the ground that showed the life beneath us, and it sounded like a rad band name.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

Our band is based out of Owego New York, but we're kinda grouped in with the Binghamton scene. Another good band from Owego is Shout At The Robots great guys, and my childhood friends older brothers band. As for Binghamton there's a ton of great bands. Tom Jolu is one of Andre's favorites and James actually play guitar in that band.

4. How would you describe your style?

I'd say a mixture of 90's emo and pop punk with a dash grunge.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We have our "Blank Canvas Demo" and "Mourning The Morning EP" which we recorded ourselves. Then we have our "Peaks and Valleys EP" which we recorded at The Lumberyard in New Jersey and you can really expect to wanna keep listening hahaha.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Yep! We're actually just finishing up the writing process and playing some new songs live that we plan to take into the studio to have another EP out sometime in 2019. We won't be releasing it ourselves though.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We play shows as often as we can! As for touring we recently did a short summer tour with our friends in Brighter Days from Scranton PA. Great guys be sure to check them out.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Just playing shows and touring for the most part. More music for sure but we don't plan on releasing anything on our own.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Bandcamp! You can find all our music on Bandcamp for free. For merch the best way is to message our Facebook and ask! We'd be happy to send anyone a shirt! :)

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

That we're just three guys who love making music and meeting new people! That we're no different than anyone and just like to enjoy our lives making music.
