Wildheart Says New Music to Come, But EP Stands Tall!
Melodic hardcore out goers Wildheart, released a handful of content, including their debut EP "A Thousand Days", following up with their release "Above/Below" some singles, and latest EP "We Are", that came out this year. New music will come along but may be a while before that happens most likely. In the mean while though, Wildheart have some end of the year showcases, with more lined-up come this next year for sure! Find out what else has been said about this up and coming type of act!
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
We basically all came from other bands that had broken up or fizzled out, so us being the members who were still keen to create music came together and started writing music. We didn't really have any particular genre in mind, we just wanting to create music that was heavy, melodic and powerful so we started writing and recording our first EP "A Thousand Days".
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
It was the first name we didn't all dislike, there were plenty of names being thrown around but Heart was always there and someone through Wild out there and we put them together and there you have it!
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
There is a lot of talented bands based in Brisbane, to name a few: The Comfort, She Cries Wolf, Stepson.
4. How would you describe your style?
Melodic hardcore is how I would best describe us, a blend between dark and heavy mixed with strong melodies.
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
Our debut EP "A Thousand Days" was released in early 2015 which was followed up by "Above/Below". We then released two singles prior to the release of our latest EP titled "We Are" which came out this August.
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
I'm always writing new music but "We Are" is still very hot off the press so it might be awhile before anything new comes out!
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
We have a couple of shows lined up for the end of this year but are 100% planning on showcasing our new EP around Australia next year!
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
Keep writing and creating new music and tour as much as possible and hopefully if all goes well get ourselves overseas!
9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
You can purchase all our music on iTunes or Bandcamp or if streaming is your preference Apple Music and Spotify. You can also find our merch online as well through our BigCartel. (http://wildheartband.bigcartel.com).
10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
For me I hope they can connect with the message of our songs. We write a lot of about mental health and dealing with personal struggles, heartbreak and so on. Even if the lyrics don't grab you at first so long as you vibe the music and the energy we put out. Whenever I connect with a band it's always music first then I go deeper and really listen to what they have to say.
