Hooby and the Yabbit Talks of EP and More!

HOOBY AND THE YABBIT combines rock, blues, acoustic, as well as some roots, to keep it together, to bring forth his own project of this solo act. The solo thing first then a band later on, according to this guy, so he says, as he goes into talks of his latest EP, and hopefully some gigs too!

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

It’s a solo project really though I have gigged it locally with some friends of mine. The EP "Out of Time" is a studio creation written and performed by me with some help from friends here or there.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Weeeeelll, Hooby is a small rather strange little creature who cant always be found, he is yellow and about 6 inches tall. The Yabbit is one of my daughters friends , he wears a pink dress and could do with a wash!

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

I am based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, the town has a few venues and some good original and cover bands. There are some annual festivals , notably Clarence Park, which I used to help run, and the Long Division festival. Both well worth a visit.

4. How would you describe your style?

It’s been described to me as "British R and B" with a "Southern Boogie rock’n’roll" vibe.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

"Out of Time", is my first release , you can expect guitars, solid Saturday Rhythms, a bit of politics and a bit of naughty craziness.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

I certainly do. I hope for an acoustic release and a full album by the end of this year.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

Would love to, but nothing confirmed yet. I may be out as a solo thing first, a band later.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Aside from taking over the world Pinky, just keep recording, get gigging, and keep going. Would love to do some festivals as well.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Follow this bandcamp link here: https://hoobyandtheyabbit.bandcamp.com/releases also some covers on soundcloud.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

Good question....hmmm good answer needed I suppose...the vibe I think, yeah. Cheers!
