SUE Says lots of Latest Release and Plans Ahead of Them
SUE takes on several genres to create their unique sound style. Using noise rock. post-punk, and punk rock to name some, as their wild performances and DIY approach makes them even more unique than most. "It Will Never End", is their latest offering from them and the band had lots to say about it and their plans ahead.
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
I (Elliot) started the project in September 2016. At the time I was just playing around in my Dad’s music room, recording terrible demos and trying to write some interesting material. After a couple months I put together a band to perform the songs I’d written; Ashley (lead guitarist) was one of them. After spending a year or so doing the occasional gig and cycling through a couple bassists and a drummer, we found Euan (drums) and the three of us began playing together. Soon after we got Euan’s brother Harry to play bass guitar for us, and we’ve been going strong ever since.
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
Johnny Cash was a big influence on me when I first started making music, one of my favorites of his is A boy named Sue.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
We’re based in the West Midlands, which has a small but passionate rock scene lingering under its surface. We’ve played with some great band’s over the past year and a half; The Exhailers, The Butter Aliens and Effigy for Sleep are all great.
4. How would you describe your style?
We’re a mix of Noise Rock, Post-Punk and Punk Rock. SUE’s music is fast, furious and very aggressive; we have a great time playing our music live.
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
We’ve released our debut album recently; we worked really hard on it and are very proud of the end result. We plan to keep playing shows and making the best music we can. I’m hoping we can get some more shows in other cities outside our local scene in the coming months.
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
Not at the moment, our debut album has just been released so all of my energy has been directed at that.
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
Play as many shows as we can in as many places as we can find. We love playing the music, so we’re not picky when it comes to where.
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
I’d love to get our first tour organised by the end of the year, as well as getting some festival slots booked. In a perfect world I’d love to find a label that would be willing to work with us, but I think we’ve still got some work to do before that happens.
9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
You can find us on Spotify, Youtube, Bandcamp etc. Our website suesuesue.com has all of our links there, so that’s a great place to start.
10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
We love what we do and have a fantastic time doing it.
