June 2019

Four piece instrumental rock band CHALLENGER DEEP have an album out there with some weekend shows in sight, plans on taking over the world and wanting this act to consume their lives for years on end! Bassist Jason Murray talks of the instrumental music.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Challenger Deep is an Instrumental Progressive/Math Rock band from Atlanta, GA. Our members are James LaPierre (guitar), Jordan Frederickson (guitar), Grant Wallace (drums) and myself, Jason Murray (bass). Each of us has played in several bands in our teens and twenties, leading us on different musical paths that eventually brought us together. When we met all of us where somewhat between projects that were doing much. After going to a few shows and parties together we decided to start meeting up on Thursday evenings each week to hang out and work on music. James and Jordan had been putting songs together for the past couple years and Grant and I joined around the end of 2017. The Thursday meetups stuck and within a few months we were starting to play local shows, our first one being a house show with World’s Greatest Dad and Mighty.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Challenger Deep refers to the lowest point of the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean. It’s a not too subtle metaphor for the feeling of being at your lowest possible point in life. I think this is a feeling that many people in their twenties can relate to, when you have no idea who you are or who you want to become. Life typically doesn’t give you time to sit around and contemplate these ideas, instead it throws a wide variety of experiences at you including challenges and hardship. The more we overcome the more we grow and sometimes the answers to these questions become a little clearer. Having the opportunity to be in this band and work together to create music that people seem to really enjoy, then getting to go play our music for friends and fans… it’s really been a wonderful experience. It’s been a great lesson to pursue and do what you love, in spite or even because of these low moments where it feels like the weight of the entire ocean is crushing down on you.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We’re all from various parts of Georgia, now we all live within 15 minutes of each other in Atlanta. I think we’re really fortunate to be part of an amazing wave of music that’s been growing over the last few years. I could spend hours listing some of these awesome bands, here’s a few that I think have really been doing some cool things. World’s Greatest Dad and Mighty I already mentioned, they probably fall into a catch-all of Emo/Punk Indie Rock, alongside Microwave, Blis., The Carolyn, Tenth Row, Fox Wound and Clavicle. Bands that are closer to our sound would be Satyr, Things Amazing, Cascadent, Champagne Colored Cars and Coletta. Some other amazing groups are Little Tybee, Starbenders, The Callous Daoboys, The Funeral Portrait and more that I can’t remember right now!

4. How would you describe your style?

We’re a blend of heavy and upbeat, technical and listenable. We all love creating huge sounds and showing off our ability to play our instruments but also want people to move and have a great time. We’re not just a live show, it’s a party.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We released our self-titled debut album in the early Spring of 2019. We were blown away by the response, getting 100k listeners in the first couple months and 200k at the start of Summer. We’ve released two music videos, including the world’s 1st Instrumental Lyric Video (you read that right) and we’re currently working on a 3rd. People should expect more music out later this year!

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Definitely, we’re really excited to be working on new music. Some of the new stuff builds off what we did with the self-titled and some of it expands our style. We’ve been experimenting with members playing different instruments and bringing in influences from other genres. Our fans should expect it to be upbeat, fun and LOUD.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We’re currently focused on opening for larger acts in Atlanta and playing shows in the South East. We recently played in Tallahassee and Panama City, those shows were really fun and we got to play our first true encore. We’ll be playing the 2 Year Anniversary of The Radio Room in Greenville on June 29th and we’re opening for Light The Torch (Howard Jones of Killswitch Engage’s new band) and Moon Tooth on July 16th at The Masquerade. We’ve got a few more things we can’t talk about yet, but can’t wait to share.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Take over the world, nothing too unreasonable! We want this to be a project that will be a part of our lives for years to come, a platform with which to share our music and grow as artists. Short-term goals include continuing to release content and book weekend shows to reach 1m streams. With those numbers we hope to attract a booking agent and get put to work!

Alternative rockers GIANT AND THE GEORGES have a few single's out there with another coming out very soon. The band goes on to say much more about themselves and their music!

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Brothers Ben and Sam had a history of performing together and in various other bands. One day their sister brought home Luke (the eponymous 'Giant') who had immediate musical chemistry with the George bros and thus they performed acoustic Beatles covers at open mic nights.
They recruited K Man on drums for a charity gig and their electric trajectory carried on from there, playing clubs and festivals around the West Midlands and releasing singles and music videos.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Two brothers (the Georges), a taller fellow (the Giant) and the drummer.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

The Black Country and Birmingham have a rich history of rock music: Robert Plant and Black Sabbath to name but a couple of icons from the area. Currently there's still a thriving scene across many venues in Brum, Stourbridge and Wolvo.

4. How would you describe your style?

Driven but intricate guitar tones, Beatles-inspired vocal harmonies and infectious melodies.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We have released three singles and two music videos (find us on YouTube, Spotify, iTunes, etc). Expect zingy hook lines, tangy riffs and vocal harmonies sweeter than honey!

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

On 28th June 2019 we'll be launching our next single with music video: Blind Love.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

Many irons in the fire - keep your eyes peeled! In the meantime you can catch us at several August dates in Birmingham and the Black Country (see our website and social media for details).

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

More music to be released along with videos, plenty more gigs, heading out to different cities! In short: world domination!

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Our music can be found across all major platforms, at gigs (nothing beats a live performance) and on our CD singles. Drop us a message for more info!

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

We always hope that a particular hook line gets stuck in a listener's head, whether it be a vocal line or a guitar lick. We love it when a listener ends up singing one of our tunes back to us at shows!

Hard rockin trio DARK SERENITY have an all new album underway with their current debut album "Memento Mori" out and about. The band goes into talks about this release and further plans ahead.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Our band was formed when we were in high school. We all bonded over music and our respective instruments, and started playing together. We started playing gigs about two years ago, but had each been playing solo for several years prior to forming the group.

Zach Barnes (Bass) had been the founding member. Zach began playing bass as an early teen and is greatly influenced by Geezer Butler and Geddy lee. He grew up listening to classic rock and enjoys studying music theory and music history. Attended college studying ethnomusicology to enhance his knowledge of music. Currently enjoys traveling and discovering new things and places. Plans on collecting vintage basses and bass gear in the near future.

Kate Emrich (guitar/vocals) grew up listening to a lot of classic progressive rock (Rush, Kansas, Yes, to name a few) with the influence of her dad. She started playing guitar at six years old and pursuing vocal coaching at age eleven. As she delved further into her music discovery journey, she found a lot of inspiration as a middle schooler from musicians such as Tony Iommi and Ritchie Blackmore, which helped her solidify her personal music tastes and decide how she wanted to develop as a musician.

Mike Bergamo (Drums)-Grew up with the rock of the 60’s, 70’s, and 90’s (Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters. Mike received his first kit at 12, but didn’t take it seriously until about 15 years old.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

The band’s name was created by the band’s founding member, Zach Barnes, with this idea: “The driving force for life is death”. This idea is what we based our name as well as a few of our songs around. You can find serenity in dark, in this case a purpose in the one inevitable truth: all life comes to an end, so you must live life fearlessly.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

Our band is based out of the Ann Arbor area in Michigan, which means that most of our scene is actually 30-50 minutes away from us in the Metro Detroit area. That’s where we play a great deal of our shows, with exceptions. The scene here is very much based around either that classic ‘Detroit Rock’ style, or heavier ‘core’ bands. It’s more of a rarity to find bands in the in between genres in the area. As for local bands to keep an eye on, we’d like to point you in the direction of Strange Flavors, Black Heiron and Midas.

4. How would you describe your style?

Our music is head banging, driven, and loud as hell. Our sound is unique in the sense that as a three piece, every instrument shines, and we all stand out playing lead parts. Just like many other bands, when we're asked what we sound like genre-wise, we're not sure how to respond. Because honestly, we feel as if we have a sound unique to ourselves.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

So far we’ve released our debut album ‘Memento Mori’. We’re currently working on the tracks for our next album, which listeners can expect to be a much more refined and powerful approach to our sound. We’re experimenting more with different song structures and lyrical themes. Definitely keep an ear out.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Yes, the new album that we’re working on. We’re planning on its release in 2020.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

This summer we’ll be touring some major cities, including New York City, Philadelphia, Nashville, Sacramento, and more.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

We plan on recording some singles off of our next album for release once we return from our summer shows, then working towards the release of our album. We then plan on organizing our next tour to promote its release. There won’t be a dull moment in our future.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

You can find our music anywhere music is streamed/purchased online, including major platforms Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, YouTube, etc.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

When hearing our album for the first time, know that almost the entirety of it is live tracked, meaning we recorded each instrument track simultaneously. If one of us messed up a take, we would start the song over entirely. Our idea behind this was to create an album that emulates a live concert.

Los Angeles-based band, Angelspit are thrilled to announce their new 13 track album "BANG OPERATIVE" is Kickstarting now!

Angelspit’s 8th album BANG OPERATIVE is inspired by the early Synthwave sound of 1978-1981 – dragging you into a psychotic, unstable future. Dark and dense with luscious sonic clouds – thick as smog. Disturbed synths, harsh pounding drums and lo-fi samples.  PLUS several tracks feature English vocalist Cherry Bligh.

This album is a compilation of tracks released through Angelspit’s Patreon. Using the feedback from the Patreon members, the tracks have been re-worked and re-mastered. Patreon members who have given $25 or more through Patreon will receive a free copy.

Check the Kickstarter for details:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/angelspit/bang-operative.

Angelspit is an Industrial strength Hellectro outfit who has released 15 studio albums and over 100 remixes for bands such as Ministry, KMFDM and Twizid. After producing everything from dystopian future pop (Lorelei Dreaming), to 8bit techno riot (Hardcore Pong), to electro queen pop (May May Graves).

This project is supported by Dark Star Fusion and Raphaelle Ziemba.

"Galaxy Eyes", is the first piece of new material in 3 years time from Ohio up and comers Along Came A Spider. This track is not just a single at choice, but one to come off their yet to be titled or released third full-length album!

The track is accompanied by a music video which was shot completely by mobile device A.K.A. cell phone! Indeed true Along Came A Spider shot the entire music video piece with their cell phone, each of the band's members taking part, editing, shooting, producing, recording, the whole ordeal conducted by the band themselves. It was no wonder the band had to ask the question "Can you film an entire music video on your smartphone?" It was done by them, it has been said and done and it's finalization is quite crafty and unique. It may be like a lot of other "band performance" clips but with add-on's that make it more creative of sorts. The added effects brings that 90's era to focus with several kaleidoscope graphics adding that extra flare of tightness.

Aside from the music video craftsmanship though, the actual track is very similar to that of The Word Alive, Linkin Park, mixed in with other acts ranging from Escape The Fate or Of Mice and Men. It has that given heaviness with under tones that bring forth this originality that is sharp and hits all the right points. Vocals for instance are clean cut, no screaming antics added, but the vocalization is so crisp it adds more energy and phrase, whilst the instrumentation is more give or take, adding elemental forces that just captures those acts mentioned prior.

Tossing it altogether just creates something modernized yet truly original and very unique. Along Came A Spider’s styling is just tops. Making all the right grooves and moves in it’s tone, with very well crafted put together music video; that has a solid long lasting single no will forget.

Ian Hendrix in no relation to Jimi Hendrix, is an up and coming artist, taking the likely genres of alternative, pop, rock, and electronic to create his own accord he calls music. Hence forth, he has released a series of episodes releasing the latest "Episode 3" simply titled "Dispirited". This episode being a continuation of "Episode 1" called "Dreams Fade" along with "Episode 2" titled "Release". Check out "Episode 3" that is "Dispirited" over HERE.

Up-and-comer Ian Hendrix has an episodic series of tracks including his most recent titled "Episode 3 Dispirited". The song with accompanying video features some nicely done animation work. It consists of not just 2D effects but some 3D CGI as well.

Making the whole piece come together full circle as it were. This creates an elemental tone that is very futuristic yet entertaining. The story fulfilling the music video's aspect is indeed Sci/fi based except more settle than anything else. It is a mere story of a female in search of something, as she travels the outer space reaches until coming across said item in question. Putting together the effects of this music video and the music with it, really captures an essence that makes it just pop out. The tone of the music is pop styled with some methods of electronic too.

The combination of these genres just has meaning, creating this overall creativity that can be enjoyed and heard with please. In other words, the music and the accompanying music video work well together, the video showcasing a story, whereas the music builds off it, making it work out through and through.

As an artist Ian Hendrix has talent and raw emotion in his work and craft that is music. Surely the other episodes within this series of his, will only develop and ever so grow more, than ever with these few pieces being just the start of perhaps even something more greater with his music skills becoming more.

Russian Downtempo Deathcore band Oakenform released their debut EP "Agony Of The Human World". The EP was recorded in "Shirman Sound Studio", and mixed/mastered by Artyom Shirman.

Check it here - https://oakenform.bandcamp.com/releases.

Oakenform was formed in Glazov, Russia at 2018 by Artyom Shirman (vocals) and Sergey Provotorov (guitar). Soon after Igor Kozlov (bass), Michail Volkov (drums) and Maxim Sinitzin (guitar) joined the band, and the lineup was completed. Right now, the band is working on their debut album that will be released in 2020.

"This Is Heartbreak", comes off an EP titled "Sleepwell", from up-and-comers Featherweight out of the state of Ohio. This aggressive post-hardcore band takes their uniqueness of rock n' roll music to new heights with this single and accompanying music video. Their style is a blend of a lot of other post-hardcore bands out on the scene currently, ranging from sounding a mixture between A Day to Remember crossed with Alexisonfire and some Silverstein and Dance Gavin Dance even. That is the vibe bouncing off this track they have here. The same likely going for the rest of the material to come off their EP "Sleepwell". Their style has got angst, energy, and total aggression, hence why they are such an aggressive type of band. It is all displayed within the instrumental, if not even more so the vocalization as well. The clean cut vocals with mixture of scream antics really mixes things up, causing this in and out effect. In other words, the music just releases itself with such momentum and pride it shows. The accompanying music video does showcase the band performing within the woods, with the backstory centering around a love story by the looks of it. All in all though, it captures the same type of sense as the actual music, progressive, toned, and lots of energy through and through. Featherweight, will likely hopefully not just fade into the abyss anytime soon, but remain a buzz, and capture the attention of many others within earshot. Given or take it only takes a matter of time to do so, these guys will get their music and voices heard in no time at all.

Pop punk metalcore act OCTOPUS MONTAGE have been together for a few years now, working upon their first debut EP, re-doing it a handful of times until it reached perfection. Thus, moving forward crafting their style with a lot to come soon enough. See what the band had to discuss about their music.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Our band started in the summer of 2016 jamming in our garage for a laugh, doing some Blink-182 and Sex Pistols covers, we then had some riffs and lyric ideas which we took and ran with -But we’re glad you’ll never hear half of them. The core of the band have known each other for years and everything just fell into place in the right place at the right time. There have been a few changes in members and now we feel we have the perfect line up for us to make the progress we want it.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

We once saw and octopus with Nine legs washed up on the local beach, we thought you know, that has one too many legs! It’s more of a montage of legs than anything else! It kinda just carried on from there....

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

The sunny seaside town of Blackpool in the UK! Although the alternative scene has been fairly quiet historically, we are proud to be involved in the growth of the scene and it seems that the town is at the beginning of something big. Big up our boys Avarus!

4. How would you describe your style?

A mix of upbeat, catchy pop punk melodies, with metalcore riffs and emo lyrics sprinkled together so you can beat people up to summer jams or hug your friends to brutal breakdowns.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We’re one EP in so far and we did a really popular cover of Simple's Plans ‘Whats New, Scooby Doo?’ Theme song! We are working really hard to expand our repertoire and have released our first single of the summer, ‘Now I’m Gone.’ There is plenty more that came from.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Yeah! As previously mentioned our new single ‘Now I’m Gone’ was released at the beginning of June. On top of this, we have been working on a few pop-punk tunes along with some more metalcore bops of which we aim to release over summer.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We began our mini UK tour at the start of June playing at Hangtight Festival in Blackpool with InVisions, SHVPES and Mallory Knox. We have also been in North Scotland playing ForresFest with Seeds Of Sorrow, From Inside and multiple other really heavy guys. In regards to the rest of our dates, we are playing a mixture of headline shows and festivals along with a big show at the end of August supporting Crazy Town. All our dates can be found on our Facebook page.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

We are focused on creating more and more music in the studio in between hitting the road and ripping it up around the country.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Just look for Octopus Montage on any Streaming site, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or just go to Octopusmontage.com! Pick up a shirt or a physical copy of our Debut EP!

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

Never take us too seriously, always dance along, be happy, share the tunes and never be afraid to come up and say hi to us! We are 4 kids just trying to live our dream.

Thrashers BANGOVER are from the U.K. releasing several EP's, playing shows with so much more incoming, there is no stopping these mad men of thrash metal! Discover the talks of the metal scene, with release content, shows, and more.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

We formed in 2011 as a 3 piece after meeting on the now deceased www.ukthrash.co.uk. Shortly after this we added a second guitarist as we had just released our first EP (Divine Command Theory) and realized that we couldn’t effectively replicate the songs live with just one. Since then we have changed vocalist and bassist once and drummer twice. We now lineup as Andreas Morelli (Vocals), Scott Grimble (Guitar), Jack Taylor (Guitar), Alex Comley (Bass) and Marco Antonio (Drums).

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

The band Municipal Waste are one of our biggest influences and we got the name from one of their songs. We actually met them at Bloodstock and told them this but they couldn’t have cared less! Never meet your heros ey? Also, a bangover is the pain the neck that you get from headbanging too much.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We are based in London and we like to think were a strong part of the metal community in and around Camden. We are closest friends with Anoxide, Dygora, Hydra, Annunciation, Deep Throat Trauma and Total Consumption.

4. How would you describe your style?

We are primarily thrash but we cover a lot of genres from power to death to groove. We also don’t take ourselves too seriously – there are enough songs about satan and evil so why not a few about toothpaste and Lawrence of Arabia?

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We have released 2 EP's and most recently our first LP, Shovel Butcher. Were pretty proud of the latest album and everything I just mentioned about our style is what you'll find. Thrash, Groove, Death, Power, Stupidity.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

We have just started writing material for the next album although this wont be out until next year. The title at the moment is ‘Close Encounters of the Thrash Kind’.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

Were currently trying to book shows and would be very open to a tour as our schedule is pretty clear. Any promoters reading this get in touch!

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

We would love to get the album a little bit more notoriety, get on tour and play some more festivals. We would love to return to Bloodstock at some point – its our spiritual home!

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

You can find everything Bangover related at www.bangoverthrash.com and our entire catalog for free download at https://bangover.bandcamp.com. You can also purchase a physical CD at https://bangover.bigcartel.com.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

That failure to floss could lead to death.

Funk rockers HUBBA HUBBA are wanting to help you to escape! With this in mind, this band has a common desire to move you, both visually and musically with their mind bending music. They have content out for all to hear with a lot of stuff in-store thus far. Find out what the band had to say about themselves and their music of course.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Hubba was a culmination and creative love-child of our collective itch to make people groove. We each come from extensive musical backgrounds and had waited some years for the right time to put this outfit together. When we first came together, it was a wild ride of positivity and newness. Like all things in real life, though, we have definitely seen our highs and lows over the last few years. Cutting ties with old members, being stolen from, numerous monetary set backs, but so many highs also! We have gotten to play two of the biggest back to back summer street fests here in our home base market, we've gotten to release the debut album worldwide, and we were in Austin, TX performing at SXSW this last March. We get to make music and help people escape their worries, even if just for a few moments. It's the greatest job in the world and we wouldn't have it any other way. Especially right now with what we are gearing up for!

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

“Hubba Hubba" is an older expression for when you find someone attractive. It is a throwback to our childhoods and the times we grew up in, it is a throwback to the innocence of when attraction first started to develop, and it is fun as hell to say. We were originally batting a few different ideas - "Rafiki Said" was one of our top contenders. In the Lion King, the character Rafiki states, "It is time." And we felt like that spoke to what we were diving into in the beginning. Hubba Hubba just felt right.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We are based out of Billings, MT. The music scene, and art scene as a whole, has blown up exponentially over the last five years. The local communities have really warmed up to supporting local art and what it can give back. Some of our favorite locals are Arterial Drive, In Rapture, Dead Presleys, Shores of Leine, Not Your Boyfriend’s Band. We have a lot cooking at home base!

4. How would you describe your style?

Umami. It is a little bit of errrthang. The first record ended up having a lot more angst  than we intended or initially set out for, but speaks volumes to where we were in our personal lives at the time. The most recent ones we’ve been cooking up are a much groovier, dance-driven, feel-good collection of tunes in comparison.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We have released the debut album, "Phunqi Haught Suhqet" (pronounced Funky Hot Suck It) worldwide on all streaming platforms. We have also released a feature music video for our single, "Thirsty!" on YouTube with the local roller derby team The Magic City Rollers. We had an absolute blast with that one! It was shot at the very beginning of the #MeToo movement and we wanted to find a way to show where we stood. We support strong women and the power they possess, and their right to have control over their own narrative. What better way to display that without getting political than to shoot a video of men trying to infiltrate a woman's world and in turn these men get their asses kicked? Someone diving into the first record should expect a roller coaster good time! It is dance-able and angsty, sexy and go-go-go. A really nice distraction from the world we are in currently. Someone picking us up with the new project should expect to dance, smile, and enjoying some serious love and its making.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

See above. Hahaha We have been hard at work inside the Hubba Hut working on not only the new music, but all the goodies to go along with it. To say this is the most exciting venture of our entire run as a band would not be saying enough. We cannot wait to show you all!!

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

At the moment, we are enjoying time off the road and at home with our loved ones. That is not to say though that we are not eager to get back on the road. I think the touring bug brings an itch that continuously needs scratched from time to time, if not most of the time. So stay tuned!

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

The same thing we do every night...try to take over the world. (Narf)

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

You can find us on Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, CD Baby, Facebook @HubbaHubbaMTMusic, Instagram and Twitter @HubbaHubbaMusic, on YouTube by searching "Hubba Hubba Phunqi Haught Suhqet" and on our website, www.hubbahubbamtmusic.wixsite.com/hubba.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time? -

That this is for you and meant for your escape from whatever negativity or struggle you might be facing. To smile and relinquish the fear of being yourself. To have fun and remember all things to come pass in due time. Love.

Dani Macaco or Macaco has released his latest album to date titled "Civilized as Animals". The album contains an array assortment of 13-tracks, some of which are the like "No Nos Pararan", "Bailo la Pena", "Lo Quiero Todo", and "Valientes". Each of these being well balanced Latin infused pop rock with an edge of spiciness. It adds a heaviness without being extremely heavy as a metal act would be. Macaco is more or less, on the borderline of being gripping and meaningful. A lot of his works off this album and other material, is much like these tracks. Being very fulfilling yet gripping at times. The energy is welcoming yet pleasing as well. It’s a combination of being a lot like the Latin rock band Maná. Both styles are similar in a way, combining the same type of tone with the style of sound between the Latin influences and what not. It makes Macaco’s style very unique and shall we say creative and downright original too. That is just the music, his vocalization is captivating so much so, it makes the music more entertaining and energetic. No matter which way of these tracks or the others off "Civilized as Animals" play, it captures the same essence rather easily. He making music that all shall enjoy and never forget about. But more or less treasure and listen to again and again.

Panteón Rococó took their time upon their ninth all new album titled "Infiernos". An unreleased album that truly demonstrates how much their creativity has come along over the years. Consisting of 11-tracks, that bring forth their sound that is Latin music mixed with Ska, thus creating "Latin Ska", a uniqueness filled with energy, humanity, and pure attitude that is utter joy throughout. Take for instance tracks like "Miradas", "Infiernos", "Soy Peligroso", and "Deja Vu (Tonantzin)", these capture that essence of energy, attitude, and the like, with such angst and pride it is unstoppable at times. Panteón Rococó has created a styling that is unique and original, very vivid and captivating really. It has that energy again, that fills the ears, entertaining very likely but may not capture the craziness of say a mosh pit rush, but leaves in the fun nonetheless. "Infiernos", is just an album complete with lots of music that grips you upon hearing it. The craftsmanship is chalk full of such power and again that pride, you can tell how so much was put into it all. It taking so long, six years is a major factor as well. It was well worth the time of waiting that is for sure. In the long run, this release is one that will not disappoint the listener but enlighten them. Panteón Rococó’s tenth album to come, will likely bring their music full circle, expanding an even greater growth in style and sound, only time will tell for sure.

“Pokemon: Detective Pikachu” was a major successor when released early in the summer of 2019. Prior and even after it’s release across the globe, fans would not only get the chance to witness the very first live action Pokemon film, but accompanying merchandise as well.

Of course since the very beginning of the Pokemon franchise would be trading cards, from the trading card games, along with video games and anime too. But with this version, which was based off a video game stand alone title “Detective Pikachu”, the movie would follow this story line to a point. Film’s take being very humorous, graphics thrilling, with all else being exclusively exciting.

But the film would be the main event of course, but the Pokemon TCG or trading card game, would be the products tied to the motion picture, showcasing a lot of the Pokemon creatures, fans around enjoy so much in an all new CGI way! Most famous would be icon Pikachu along with other memorable characters like Charizard and Mewtwo, and Greninja. A lot of these character creatures being included in exclusive “case file” sets, with exclusive booster packs of the trading cards, cards and coins.

The cards come in a very nice decked out box, with the Detective Pikachu and Pokemon logo, and the characters in the CGI format. Some of these sets consisting of giant cards, with others being the standard sized cards. Each one of these sets though, looks very captivating and eye popping upon the color scheme, and overall tone that brings the Pokemon brand to real life.

The price range can go from $9.99 to $24.99 roughly, available online and local retailers like Walmart, Target, and Game Stop stores. Surely any Pokemon fan would be pleased with adding one if not all of these sets, among other merchandise to their collections for sure. Pokemon as a whole will not be fading away anytime soon, and with this live action kick starter of the Pokemon brand to keep it breathing thus far, more films and even grander merchandise will follow easy.

Indie rockers STEREO OFF is a five piece group out of NYC, with electronic overtones, that makes this new project truly straight forward with an approach that is danceable, yet melodic with even catchier riffs and keyboard accents that lasts for days on end. In short, this group have got material and plans in the making with no sense in stopping! Discover what was said about themselves, music, and future plans at work.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Sebastian, our singer and producer, used to write and produce mostly hip hop, while Niall our bass player fronted a couple of bands on the UK rock scene. The two met in New York City through mutual friends and enjoyed similar music, so when both were itching for a new project they teamed up to start writing additions to the electro-rock tracks Sebastian had cooked up. Soon they enlisted Steve Williams (of Heavy Howl, a band you should definitely check out) on guitars, with Niall moving from guitar to bass. Bridget had been playing professionally on the classical music circuit of Carnegie and the like, but wanted to expand into punk, pop and other genres. Alongside joining a couple of other bands she joined Stereo Off, first on Keyboards and strings, and then when Steve left to focus on solo material she shifted to lead guitar.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

One of us wanted "Haute Stereo" which all the other members hated, so to keep it democratic we kept the "stereo" and then threw words into a hat to vote on. Someone wrote "Off" and we liked it because the name related to audio, specifically: sound as an esthetic.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We all live in New York City, and we rehearse and record in Brooklyn. The music scene here is rather spread out and now in smaller bubbles, since genre-specific clubs and classic spots closed down. Things are also very corporate here now so for example Williamsburg is a family tourism destination, not as much of the haven for live music that it once became when classic Manhattan venues started disappearing. Real estate is so expensive that places have to host a lot of everything and be less scene-specific, but the upside of this is you see more cross-pollination, so there are less ‘gatekeepers’ for newer artists. There are plenty of local NYC bands and artists we love in many genres. For post punk you gotta check out the band PUSH! and we’re also really feeling Blood Blush. If you like indie rock, pop or psyche, you’ll love Your 33 Black Angels. For breaks and trip hop, Cru Jones is really killer, and in hip hop you will definitely want to hear 1kGaines or Leo Coltrane.

4. How would you describe your style?

Electro-rock with a lot of Synthwave and post punk vibes. It’s a weird pop band, essentially.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

So far we’ve dropped three EP discs, three music videos, and a bunch of one-off Bsides and singles. The first EP "NY 5 Songs" is simply the first five tracks we liked of the early stuff we made, which was written to be very strait-forward rock with a little electronic flair to it. The second release ‘The Long Hot Winter’ is where we went more electro and started to lean more toward synths, while the 3rd EP called "III" is where we paired down to a trio and got more into pop, post punk and Synth wave sounds. The third disc is where the "Sunsetting" video comes from and that should give you a good idea of who we are and where we’re going with it.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

A ton of new music and we’re currently writing and recording our first full-length LP. We will probably release it as singles over the next year and then drop the full LP as a special release. You can hear little sneak-peek snippets of the tracks we’ve been working on,

 7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

Maybe touring as we get closer to completing the album and honing the new album. Meanwhile we’ll be playing shows throughout NYC and the tri-state surrounding area. There will be more announced soon but for now set your calendar for July 11th at Coney Island Baby, an event with Roku Gin sponsors and Nadia Kazmi.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

We are really feeling heavy cyberpunk and goth vibes lately so you’ll see more experimentation with that in the future. We are into doing more multimedia pieces and we’re planning on creating custom scoring for the upcoming series Black Betty. You can see the original of this action-revenge short at the Deviant Children Productions YouTube page. We’ve also scored a few avant-garde flicks with the Chopstick Graffiti team. Most of us are gamer's and really want to work with some indie game designers in the future. Sebastian is also into remixing other artists and you’re going to see more of that happening as well.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Our formal commercial releases are on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Bandcamp and Amazon, wherever you like to preview and buy digital music. Here’s an easy link for now: https://linktr.ee/Stereo_Off_Music. Music videos are on YouTube along with film scores and other pieces.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

We make this for you to dance to physically but also conceptually. Music sets a scene, but not just to tell one story. It creates a space and time to inhabit; it is world-building. So if you feel it’s directly about you when you hear it, that is real and true. It’s way we felt when we wrote it so we’re sharing that through time and space. That is where we truly feel human and alive and we’re honored to share that time and place together with you.
