Bloodmores Discusses Newest Album and Much More!

Four piece metal band BLOODMORES out of England, have a debut album out "The Seeds Of Seasons", released this year. Bloodmores' sound is a mixture of the metal genres, with the band not only releasing music but playing it live as well. The band got together to discuss this release and themselves of course.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

We've only been performing together for just over 6 months, and got together as a band around November of last year. Our line up is, myself, Alex Cunliffe, on guitar/vocals, with Richard Jodrell, also on guitar, Connor Heelis on Bass, and Chris Mansell on drums. Me, Richard and Connor had been writing music together for a while when Chris joined us around November, and already had our debut album written, so things came together fairly quickly once Chris joined, and had learnt the songs that we'd already written.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

So the word 'mores' is used to describe like a trait of a society, or community, and our name Bloodmores is supposed to be like a way of describing a self-destructive, or self sabotaging trait of society. We did however discover recently that the word 'mores' is pronounced like 'mor-ays', so it turns out that we, and everyone we've ever met through the band and our shows, has technically been pronouncing it wrong, but I guess it's too late to change now, and we're just going to continue pronouncing it as you might expect, like a plural of the word 'more' haha!

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We're based in the north-west of England, with me and Chris living in Great Harwood, whereas Richard and Connor live near Blackpool. There's more of a music scene nearer to Richard and Connor, in Blackpool, than there is near me and Chris, but the main local music scene to us is definitely in Manchester, there's tons of great venues there, and we actually played our first show in Manchester, at The Grand Central. As for local bands, I'd definitely recommend you check out our friends in Soldato, Daybreaker and Cobolt Collision.

4. How would you describe your style?

Ours is a mix of a few metal styles. Primarily we're a thrash band, but also with elements of death metal, as well as some metalcore, and even some hints of progressive metal, especially in our album's title track.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We released our debut album, The Seeds Of Seasons, on February 1st 2019. I'd say listeners shouldn't necessarily expect to hear many slower, or more melodic based songs from our album. Aside from the more progressive elements in our title track, it's a fast paced and heavy album throughout, and was influenced by the likes of Hypocrisy, Arch Enemy, At The Gates, The Black Dahlia Murder and DevilDriver, to name a few.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

We're always working on writing new music, and hopefully we'll be recording again sometime in the not too distant future.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We have a number of shows booked for the remainder of this year, some of which are yet to be announced, and we've started taking bookings for next year, including our first festival appearance, which we're excited to announce soon, but currently we don't have a tour planned out.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

As I said before, we're always working on new music, and we're aiming to get some new songs recorded soon, but aside from that we just enjoy travelling to new places, playing new venues, and meeting new people.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

You can stream and download our debut album, The Seeds Of Seasons, in all the usual places, like Spotify, iTunes, Amazon etc and can purchase physical copies of the CD, along with any of our merch, from our bandcamp: https://bloodmores.bandcamp.com/merch.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

Hopefully people will just enjoy what they hear enough to come and check us out live whenever they get the chance. Reviewers of our album, so far, seem to have been impressed with the overall quality of our songs, considering that we haven't been together for even a year so far, so hopefully people will remember that too, and therefore anticipate more new music from us in the future.
