Medusa's Disco's Wynton Discusses Lots of Music and Never Stopping!

Highly energetic, psychedelic rock n' roll band MEDUSA'S DISCO have been at it, releasing 4 full-length albums and 3 EP releases thus far. But not only do they have this content, but all new stuff is in the works as well! These guys plan on rocking, rolling, and just on never stopping! Find out what was said in this discussion with vocalist, guitarist, and sitar Wynton Huddle below!

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Wynton: The band has been in existence for 7 years now, 5 years as Medusa's Disco, consistently featuring Wynton Huddle and Hunter Root on lead vocal and guitar duties as well as Alex Aument on drums. Over the last 3 years the band has gone through various bassists until recently falling into a permanent residence with our current thick-string-thumper and wizard engineer, Justin Wohlfeil. Since then things have really started picking up for us, exciting times!

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

W: Medusa's Disco started off as a song, being the first track of our 2nd full length "Forked Tongue Fables".

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

W: We are based out of Lancaster, PA. There certainly isn't anything else like us in the music scene. One band we perform with quite frequently, The Stonewall Vessles, might not have a similar sound, but are equals in energy and passion, always making for a powerful bill! We are also happy to see bands like Yam Yam out in Harrisburg get a lot of traction with their recent album and even getting on the billboard charts! Lots of different types of creativity going on around us, and everyone has something different to offer.

4. How would you describe your style?

W: We usually go with High Energy Psychedelic Rock.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

W: As of October 2019 we have released 4 full length albums and 3 EPs, two of which we have kept under wraps for the most part (The Prava Sessions, Live at Max J Variety Show). They might resurface again some day. We also have an acoustic EP with Sitar and violin (Fruit From A Timeless Planet), a very different taste from our usual material!

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

W: Always! Thankfully now that we are going steady with Justin on Bass and engineering, we have lots of plans to get material out sooner then later. Some concepts include doing a split EP with Annapolis band Mojo Bozo's Electric Circus, A Live release of our Who cover set from Dam Stock, another full length next fall, and the remixing/remastering of our previous catalog for vinyl.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

W: We plan to hit SXSW March 2020 and hopefully do a west coast tour before the next full length,

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

W: Keep rocking. Keep rolling. Keep growing. Never stop.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

W: Medusa's Disco is on all streaming platforms and you can purchase material goods from our bandcamp and at www.medusasdisco.com.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

W: We are usually complimented on our harmonies, and we always love hearing how personally fans can take our lyrics. To acknowledge we all suffer, go through pain, grow through it and better ourselves, it makes us all feel a little less alone on this rock. And if our music can make someone out there feel a little less alone, then it's all been worth it.
