Rock n' rollers THE BLACKLAVA have had a array of content released over the years, an EP, album, and couple of singles with more incoming soon enough. The band has had their hearts set upon playing shows especially abroad! Discover what else was talked about below.
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
The BlackLava are an Italian band based in Turin, born in 2014. The BlackLava are completely produced by themselves: Carlo Loglisci writes lyrics, music and produces music videos; Guitarist Francesco Priolo records and produces the songs in his studio in Turin; Diego Petrino, drummer, produces some of the graphics that appear in their logos and posters; Bassist Marco Stillavato manage the booking.
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
Our drummer had just gone to Turkey on vacation and he had eaten many typical dessert: The Baklava. When he came back from the trip, we were thinking about the name of the band and he changed the name of the Turkish dessert in "The Blacklava" and everyone liked how it sounded.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any
local bands you could recommend?
We are an Italian band, from Turin. It’s in the north of Italy. 10/15 years ago there was a fantastic Rock/Metal/hardcore scene. There were many cool bands! Now it’s different, people prefer Italian Trap Music or Indie Italian Music. Our goal is to became popular abroad.
4. How would you describe your style?
A little bit of Vintage Rock with an eye to the future. For fan of Audioslave, Foo Fighters, Royal Blood, Queens of The Stone Age and Black Stone Cherry.
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
Our first EP "Sweet Meat" was released in 2016. In 2018 was released the first album "As Black As My Heart", promoted with a tour in Italy, France and Holland. In May 2019 we published an acoustic single "I’m Gonna Leave You" , in September a new song "Devil Inside Me" and Then in November another single "Drunk Like Joe Cocker". In our works you can ear a different style, like the bands born in the nineties. You can ear something soft, you can ear something strong and everything has a visual part!
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
Yes. In February we will release a new song called "Woman" with a video and further on
the remix of "Bones" (Ballad from our album "As Black As My Heart").
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
In this period we have some gigs, in electric and acoustic in our country.
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
As we said before, we would like to play more abroad! At the end of 2019 we signed with
the Deutsche label Frozen-Heart and we are working together to make our wish satisfied.
9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
You can listen our stuff in every digital store. From Apple Music to Spotify, from Deezer to
Amazon Music and so on. Instead if you want to buy our merchandise you have to go to our
Bandcamp!
10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the
first time?
While listening to our music we want you to remember that our music is authentic and it is
