Six To Fix Talk of New Single, More Music, and Upcoming Plans!
Rock n' rollers SIX TO FIX, have an all new single made video release titled "When the Night is Over", with more single's and an album coming soon enough.... For now though, the band has taken the time to talk about their music and what they have planned next!
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Six to Fix started in 2011, we were six members, with 2 guitarists, bass, drums, voice and a keyboards player. We released a demo and sent it to some contests, so we managed to open for Mika in a sold out show, and we supported other Spanish famous bands, all before the release of our first record.
We started playing gigs, and after some years, the two guitar players left the band. So, Sergio (keyboard player) started playing guitar and we ended up being a quartet in 2017. After that we were signed by a promotion agency and we managed to get our songs and videos in some Spanish TV shows.
In 2019 we tried to get a great producer for our next recording, so we recorded 'When the night is over' with Julian Emery (producer of Nothing but thieves, a band we love) and it was mixed by Adam Noble (he worked with other bands we love, as Placebo, U2 or Biffy Clyro).
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
In the beginning, we were six members in the band. The name started as a joke for the six of us. Through the years we ended up being four members, but the name of the band remained. We could have changed it for 'Four to Fix' (haha), but we remained as Six to Fix.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
We come from Valencia (Spain). There’s a lot of great bands here, and many different styles, but if you want to reach a huge audience you’ve got to sing in Spanish. There’s a band called Elyella, they sing in English and Spanish and we like mostly their English songs. Other bands that we like: Ayoho, L.A., Havalina, Vuelacruz, Polock, Standstill, Neuman, Toundra.... and many more. But if you sing in English, you'd better try out of Spain.
4. How would you describe your style?
Our style is a mixture of styles... mainly indie rock with electronic sounds. You can find guitars and melodies influenced by the 90's or 00's, but at the same time you find rhythms or vocals with a modern sound, and some keyboards too.
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
We have released 2 albums, 2 EP's and some single's. If you listen to our music through the years, you can see our sound has evolved. At the beginning it was more classic pop rock and the influences were clear, but now we've found our own style, you can find a lot of different influences and a more contemporary sound.
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
We have released 2 singles for the next album 'Imagination', the last one 'When the night is over' just some weeks ago. We are recording the rest of the songs now, it will be out there soon.
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
We'll start touring Spain at the end of February and there are some dates scheduled for the next months. After that we'll try to make it in other countries.
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
We'd like to reach a great audience all over the world in order to play gigs anywhere, we're working in promotion and we'll see how far we can get.
9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
You can find Six to Fix on every streaming service (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, YouTube, Deezer, Bandcamp, Soundcloud). You can buy songs in some of them, and you can go to www.sixtofix.com to buy merchandising or CD's. You can find stuff on the shows too.
10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
We'd like him/her to say 'I want more!'. We try to make different things in every song, some of them will make you dance, some of them will make you think or calm down, but there's an optimistic shine in all of them.
