Dialekt Says Quite a Bit Involving Music and More!

Dealing with issues since forming back in 2013, nu-metal, post grunge/metalcore band DIALEKT want to keep going. Releasing already a handful of tracks as it is, with an all new song coming soon. Shows are shattered but will commence within the next several months or so. Discover what more was said from the band below.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Mat: I have joined Dialekt in 2016 as introduced to the Mariano by my colleague from work. They have been looking for bassist and even though I have been a guitar player I have recently bought a bass from my friend and thought I can give it a shot. It was completely different set up back then and we have changed all of the members since, but me and Mariano has been consistent ever since and the band started to shape up, composing recording and playing in local pubs and venues.

Matt: I joined the band in April 2017. Alongside Mariano and Mat, was drummer Dom Kuzniar. It was a real shame he had to leave but family pressures etc just made it impossible for him. After that we’ve auditioned for almost a year before finding Jamie Beaumont, who has made a massive difference to the dynamic of the group.

Jamie: Jamie: I joined Dialekt back in 2018 and met the guys through a website called BandMix. I was excited to learn the songs as quickly as I could so I could fully integrate into the band and was excited for future shows which we got not long after.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Dialekt name was invented by the former band frontman Aaron and its purpose was to underline the variety of nationalities – the band consisted with Polish, English and Greek guy back then. A lot have changed since but the band is still multinational with two polish guitarist and English drummer and singer and the name still sticks pretty good.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We're based out of Bedford. The metal scene here is fairly limited but there are a few bands local to the area who are worth checking out. Of those is Black Atlas, a group we played alongside at Oxjam 2018. They made a huge impression on me and were very talented.

4. How would you describe your style?

Each of us have different music taste and influences but we all love metal with all its variations and sub-genres. Our music is mix of nu-metal, alternative and grunge. Hard Roll Hell Metal IV introduced us as "nu metal post grunge metalcore"– hard to put a label on this so better to just check it out.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We have already released four singles, two of them with music videos. We also have all of them available on CD if anyone prefer classic ways of listening to the music. Every single is very different from another, but they all have good melodic hooks with a mix of clean and growl vocal. Very rhythmic and powerful – you will like it 😊.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

We have recently finished writing new song called Legacy, which is already part of our live set,  one kind gentleman recorded just that song from our set at the HRH Metal festival and that'll be the next one we record – you can check it on YouTube. Another one is underway so hopefully you will be able to hear it live in just a few weeks’ time.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We had pretty good winter season, played several smaller and larger gigs around Bedfordshire and surroundings. Don’t have any larger tour contracted as of yet, most of what we're doing for the start of this year is mostly competition based. We are also focusing on the summer season to get slots on some of many open-air festivals around UK while still getting dates for the smaller venues and pubs just to deliver our music everywhere we can.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Just do our thing really. As best as we can hoping that our music will be interesting, and we will find enough audience to keep going. For the immediate plans we will be looking to record another single soon (hopefully before end of the year) and play as many gigs as we can.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

With the digital world we live in – you can listen to Dialekt on pretty much every streaming services, including YouTube. If you prefer to have a physical piece of our music, just reach out to us for the Singles CD we have released around a month ago.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

Matt: That's a really tough one so I'll reference a patch of graffiti I saw when I was at my lowest point (thanks at this point to my older brother Luke who gave me the support I needed when I felt as though I'd never see the end of 2016).

"If you're reading this, no matter who you are, two things are true. 1, you're going to die. 2, you haven't yet. The rest is up to you."

Jamie: I’d like the music to have fulfilled its purpose to that individual and the feeling it gave them – whether that person is looking for a song that they want to listen to whilst they’re angry or they’re looking for a more melodic song that they can lose themselves in. If it can fulfill that purpose, then it has done its job as a piece of art. Thanks for having us!
