Hearts & Hand Grenades Talks of Music and Playing in the Summer!

Hard rockin heavy duty band HEARTS & HAND GRENADES have a couple of EP's out, with an all new EP out this summer! Some shows are set with perhaps a tour to fall into place soon. For now, the band goes into talks, about how they came about, their music, and more plans in-store.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Hearts & Hand Grenades was formed at the beginning of 2019. Lead Vocalist/Bassist Stephanie Wlosinski and guitarist/keyboardist Mike Bress were performing at a local telethon for kids with the Goo Goo Dolls, where Robby Takac listened in on our set. Afterwards, he asked us to come down to his studio ‘GCR’ in Buffalo and get our music recorded. We then approached Lead Guitarist Kenny Blesy and Drummer Tom Lafferty to complete the lineup. Both of these guys have been playing in the cover music scene for a number of years and we felt they would be the perfect addition to the band. The rest is History!

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

The Band name was created by Stephanie Wlosinski. She wanted a band name that would represent something with a sweet and sour vibe or perhaps a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde feel. This is very representative of the lyrical content in the songs as well.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

The band is based out of Buffalo, NY. The music scene in Buffalo is dominated by the cover music scene. There are very few venues in Buffalo where original music is the niche.

4. How would you describe your style?

I believe the best way to describe our music would be to say it is traditional rock music. With a lot of our music, you get that good old fashion palm muted power rock feel along with those deep meaningful lyrics. We believe there is a demand for this type of music and we are hoping to fill the void.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

Up to this point, we’ve release two EP’s. ‘Wait’ our first EP was released July 17th 2019 and our second EP ‘Nothing Left’ was released on December 9th, 2019. The music is quite diverse in that some of the songs are straight up hard rock while others might have a pop/punk feel or an alternative vibe. The lyrics are very deep in meaning and each song tells a unique story.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Our third EP ‘Adrenaline’ is scheduled to be released May 1st, 2020. This EP is a little on the heavier side of Rock music. The EP will consist of four songs just like the other two releases and is full of head banging/fist in the air type songs.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We have a CD release party scheduled for May 6th, 2020. We also have a few other local shows spread across the summer months at this point. As for as a tour goes, we are currently looking at putting something together and hopefully in the next couple months we can make announcement regarding a tour.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

The band is about to start working on the second full album. We are going to keep pushing the music out there for everyone to hear and hopefully get on a tour soon to bring the music outside of Buffalo for everyone to enjoy it live. The future is looking bright for the band currently.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Our Music is available on all digital streaming platforms like Spotify, YouTube, Pandora, Deezer, Soundcloud etc. The songs are also available for purchase on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, etc.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

We have poured every ounce of our creative energies into this music and know that our listeners will also hear that in our music. Perhaps one of our lyrical stories will even apply to you! Keep on listening and follow us on our social media platforms.
