Dhaliax Express Lots With Talks on Music and Total Promotion!
Heavy thrashers DHALIAX have their first debut album out called "Blood On Fire", along with a single titled "Mercenary". No new music at the time, except for an acoustic rendition of one of their other tracks, the band just wants to keep themselves busy with promotion as much as possible. See what else the band had to express on themselves and the music they so much want to promote!
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Dhaliax was created by Enyd (lead guitar) and Marc (rhythm guitar) in 2015, while they were playing together. Different band member joined and went. Then there was Kuido, who stayed as vocalist. The first two songs of the band were Chandrian and Blood on fire, it was Chandrian that defined the band’s name afterwards. It would not be until 2019 when joined both Alex and Xavi, on drums and bass respectively, and the band would finally be complete and able to undertake the challenge of their our studio album called “Blood on Fire” which was recorded at PlyGrnd Studio, Barcelona.
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
The band’s name was defined by the song “Chandrian”, a song found in the first book of the Kingslayer Chronicles (The Name of the Wind) by Patrick Rothfuss, in which the antagonist group, the chandrian, is led by “Haliax”, a sort of demon kind of guy… and we just added a D (the D is silent you know), and therefore… Dhaliax.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
We’re from the Barcelona area, where the metal music is appreciated, but we are finding difficulties to play on locals, because there are tons of bands but not so much dedicated places for it. The local band scene is full of emerging and great bands, like: Blaze Out, Cavum, Crisix, Flames at Sunrise, We Exist Even Dead, Donuts Hole, Resilence, Morphium, Ankor, Red Shark, Street Lethal, Furi Helium, Born in Exile, Siroll, Northland, Icestorm, 77, Ravenblood, Kilmara, The Last Oblation, among others.
4. How would you describe your style?
Heavy Metal with Hard Rock, Thrash Metal and Power Metal influences. We have been defined as German metal like-ish. We aim to sound like the classics of heavy metal, but with a modern-like sound. We think we got that done with our first album.
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
We have our first album live, along with our music video of the single “Mercenary” (https://youtu.be/fu054cSgF-s), they can’t expect what’s coming to them... Great drums? check. Great vocals? check. Great guitar riffs? check. Great bass lines? Double check.
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
Right now we are trying to promote as much as possible our first album and we have no plans of releasing new music in a short time. However, we just released few weeks ago a self-recorded acoustic version of one our songs, "Chandrian" playing from our houses due to the lock down (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=maSNg9lUfj0).
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
Yes, we would like to do those, but Covid… you know?. In fact it was supposed to be the third live concert last 14th March but due to the sanitary emergency it was cancelled as all the events. We are looking forward to the end of this awful situation and being able to go back to the stage and perform our shows in a tour.
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
We were presenting our first album “Blood on Fire”, playing on several places around Barcelona. We’d love our music to be known in the metal community nationally and internationally, make shows in all of Spain and play outside of it. Our objective now is to work on our second music video and keep playing “Blood on Fire” this 2020, and, of course, keep having a blast while doing it.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
We want the public to remember the experience with us, the time they spent talking and dancing and thinking with our music, and if they come to a show, make it double, and if they don’t come to a show, make them wish they had.
