Planet For Sale Says They Want to Perform and Create More Music!
PLANET FOR SALE takes on the uniqueness of story telling, as well as taking such genres as urban country, musical universe and alternative styling to create something truly unique. They have gone on since to release an album with all new music for an EP coming up as well. Due to the current time of the crisis though, the band hopes to play shows really soon, with of course always writing more and new music! See what else the band had to say about all of this below.
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
We’ve been musicians all our lives and we started right from the bottom. All of us came from individual backgrounds but me and Jim, we met at Northbrook college. We Went through several bass players until we found Louis on Bass and Jamie was a childhood friend of Jim who’s now on the drums. Me and Jim have been writing music together for years but we have been planning for sale as a whole for two.
2. What is the origin of the bands name?
I wanted to create a universe where everything is a contrast to the real world, I wanted the image to be as harsh as reality yet have a fictional tone and inspired by all the genres I grew up with which were mainly blues and classic rock. So when it came to naming the band, it was suitable to look at it as a planet but with everything including tomorrow’s had a danger of fading away. That’s where PLANET FOR SALE comes from. A questionable world at an auction.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
We are based in the south and right now we’re in Sussex. We get very strange and surprised reactions from the crowd because the music it’s something that they don’t expect. I think when they see us to expect us to give them something that is similar to Britpop or something hip and contemporary but instead they get ambiance, fusion and storytelling with a sense of hard rock. It’s hard for us to relate to the other acts but we could recommend some individuals out there who are working hard like Fade and The Dirty Weekend.
4. How would you describe your style?
PLANET FOR SALE is a musical universe. We write songs like stories and we put them out one by one to create a connection. When people hear the verses , then they wanna sing the choruses And that is an anthemic journey that we give to our listeners at shows. When you listen closely you hear minimized blues mixed with anthem style rock writing. There’s also a little bit of country too. We could never say that it is one particular genre but it is a new one. we just don’t have a name for it yet.
5. What have you really so far and what can someone expect from your works?
So far we have released one album titled ‘Earth’ which was praised by our fans in the UK, Sweden and Iran. These are the places that we are currently performing and we have a nice cult following which we love seeing grow over time. People always expect a message embedded in our lyrics. A sign that points out the Silver Lining between good and bad, The difference between loneliness and fulfilling your dreams, the distance between love and hate. Next to that you can always expect groovy and creative guitar solos, harmonized backing vocals and strong bass.
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
Oh yeah! We’ve got an EP coming up which is our current crown jewel featuring four new songs written by Rooz and Jim, all mixed produced by the Animal Farm Music. The first single from the EP is called ‘Old Father Time’ and it will be released this Friday, June 19th.
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
We die if we don’t perform so that is always the number one priority. Due to the Covid crisis we had to reschedule a lot of shows and just stick to online madness game of survival but as soon as this craziness is over we will be heading to London and covering most of Sussex And Hampshire. We’ve also got The Great Escape as well so when that’s back will be doing that too.
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
There are a lot of attitude base led acts out there with a lot of style and flair and we want to be part of that, but we also want to bring our own dish to the table. We want to keep singing and carry on the conversation about what’s real and what is happening to this world and its beautiful environment and its vulnerable people. We want to be the biggest rock voice out there , and for that we are dreaming as big as the planet we are writing about.
9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
You can go to our main website which is www.planetforsalemusic.com. From there you can get all the action and all the access you so desire. Oh and don’t forget to subscribe for the extra fun. ;)
10. What is it you would like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
We want to see you cry and we want to see you laugh with us. We all have one home and inside this home we all have the same problems, just different scenarios. We want to remember the stories we tell you, the heartbeat rhythms we play and the confessions we sing because they are your stories, your heartbeats, your feelings and confessions. PLANET FOR SALE is All of us.
