Random Ties Says Much on Themselves and Their Music!
High energetic rock band RANDOM TIES just formed in 2019, but since then they have been known for their dynamic sound with such a message, it's been spread far and wide. The band has released an EP, music videos, and have a new single with video expected really soon as well. Just what else the band had to say, expresses a lot about themselves and the music.
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Random Ties is the dream I put on hold for many years. We came together in the summer of 2019, which was the year my wife & new born at the time moved to the US from Beirut. I didn’t know anyone in Detroit so I started going to open mics & meeting other musicians which this is where I met KD who plays the drums thunderously bringing that heavy hitting power with amazing fills & breaks, Thew whose on the second guitar, compliments my playing with his fills that are all over our EP & Steven originally from Nirvana’s hometown brought a grunginess to the album with some great baselines.
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
I was thinking about this new journey I embarked on moving to the US & thought how Randomly the band met yet we are tied together by creating music thus the name Random Ties
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
We have a saying in Detroit” Local is the new National” the music scene is healthy & full of very talented bands like “Heart of Jordan” Metal genre or if you are into Rock n Roll check out Two Faced Wilson to name a few.
4. How would you describe your style?
We are a high energy, feel good Alternative rock band, known for our dynamic sound, contrasting between quiet verses with loud heavy choruses topped with an honest message
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
It’s been a very busy last couple of months for Random Ties, we just released our EP "Believe" consisting of 6 songs streaming on all platforms. It’s a personal release because we touch on subjects such as losing a loved one, difficulties in starting a family, struggling with faith & moving on. We also shot two music videos this year “She’s Something” & just recently “Week 39” both available on our YouTube channel.
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
The creative juices are flowing with all that’s going on globally, we have a new single “Thawra” coming out sometime in August with a video.
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
Things were very unpredictable this summer due to the pandemic yet we remained active playing gigs, we decided that we would stay close to home as some gigs were subject to cancellation with no notice & would have been tough for us to swallow in the middle of a tour. We have a few shows left this summer, August 6th at the Goose Lake Jamboree festival & on the 8th at the Corunna bar in Flint.
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
Our goal is to remain consistent by providing quality music to our audience, no one knows what the future of live shows will look like so we have to think of other ways to keep our fans engaged & our biggest goal is to reach a wider audience geographically so a big thanks to you for giving us this interview & a voice.
9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
You can stream Random Ties on all platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes or band camp & if you’d like to stay updated with our latest news our Instagram or Facebook page is the place to go.
10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
Our songs put a spot light on daily struggles we all go through carrying our scars proudly & celebrating who we are.
We want them to feel empowered after listening to our songs & something they can dance to & to remember the sun always shine if you hang in there long enough.
