EILEEN GOGAN AND THE INSTRUCTIONS is a band run by Eileen herself, who has been in an array of bands for sometime. Since the formation of this band in particular though, a handful of content has already been released with more underway. Eileen herself discusses her time with this band and her other one's as well as what's ahead for the future of everything that crosses her way.
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
My band is basically just me, I write all the songs, arrangements and produce. On this album Under moving skies I had some musician friends play on it and we did rehearse and play live for a time. Niall McCormack who plays keyboards and did the artwork used to play in Jubilee All Stars, Niall O’ Sullivan a long time friend and great guitarist, Eamonn Davis on bass who used to play with Hey Paulette, Ed McGinley on guitar, Eamonn Ryan on drums who used to play with Something Happens.
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
My friend stayed up late drinking one night and tried to come up with good band names, she suggested The Instructions, I liked it!
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
I am based in Dublin and so are the people who play with me. Pre-Covid there were a lot of gigs going on and some nice places to play. As far as local bands are concerned I like;
Dinah B rand https://dinahbrand.bandcamp.com/album/thank-you-driver.
I like Thread Pulls https://www.breakingtunes.com/threadpulls.
The Saturday Captains are fab

4. How would you describe your style?
Fledgling homespun.
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
I released an album in 2015 The Spirit of Oberlin, and another album Under Moving Skies in 2020. Someone can expect the result of my best effort and imagination.
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
Yes I am currently working on an album again in my tiny studio in my house.
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
I have not booked any gigs because of the current pandemic I have seen other musicians book and having to reschedule, so I am waiting for a green light!
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
To try and not repeat myself and to push further out of my comfort zone as a writer and performer.
9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
That was interesting.
