Melodic old school hard rockin metalheads EVEREAL have some demo's and an EP and singles too! But not only do they have content out but have all new music in the works already. This band just wants to continue releasing music, writing music as well as videos! Just see what else the band had to express with their talk found below.
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Evereal was formed out of another opportunity. Steve was preparing a release of his other band and was looking for members when he stumbled across David Bevis, who knew Stephanie(singer from first album) and the three started writing. Steve had previously worked with Gord in other projects so asked him to join in. They auditioned and worked with a couple drummers when Rob came recommended, Rob was offered the gig and he was in.
Fast forward 2 years and Dave, Stephanie and Rob had other commitments and left the band. Nelson had originally auditioned the same time as Rob but had to drop out due to other commitments, when he saw the drummer ad he again contacted us and joined. Alicja was the singer in another project Steve had going….so when Stephanie left she was eagerly offered the gig.
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
As that project evolved it needed a name.... while discussing band names using the words "Forever" and "Surreal" in some context it just clicked to put them together... Ever Real… Evereal A quick google search showed the name didn't exist so it was chosen.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
Evereal is based out of Vancouver Canada. The music scene in Vancouver has been declining for several years seeing many long time live venues close. Most original live local music has moved to a more underground scene of smaller older venues offering live music. With the Pandemic we are seeing more and more venues close. We can only hope that we will see a resurgence of live music when the world gets back to a new normal.
4. How would you describe your style?
Our style is a mixture of Melodic Metal, old school metal, Hard Rock, symphonic elements and some electronica mixed in with a touch of prog. We have also been told there are some atmospheric elements in some areas. As a band we are open to writing what we feel without being too concerned about “Genre” or adhering to a specific style. We hope to continue to evolve our sound and write melodic music with catchy vocal and guitar riffs.
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
Our first release was more geared towards the “Symphonic Metal” and Gothic sound. Our Demos caught the attention of Rush Artist Hugh Syme who signed on as the bands Artistic director designing all the bands artwork and the ER logo. We were offered several distribution deals and signed on with 7hard records Germany. Our newest release was a 4 song EP that has seen significant more success with the release of 2 singles “I Bleed” and “When you’re Gone” racking up over 500,000 streams worldwide.
You can expect something different with each new release. While we strive to keep with the big guitar sound we are focusing more on expanding with different keyboard sounds and vocal layers while staying true to the metal sound we have been recognized for.
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
We’re glad you asked...Yes, we currently have a number of songs in the works that should be ready for release in the upcoming months. Including an interesting cover tune that we think you will all enjoy. Stay tuned and check our sites regularly for updates.
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
Pre- covid we had shows lined up (that were cancelled) and were looking towards heading to Europe but sadly everything has been put on hold for now. We have an upcoming on demand live show dropping in March 2021. Be sure to visit our sites and subscribe to get upcoming announcements.
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
We plan to keep writing music and releasing videos for the fans. Of course we need to hear from you the fans to make this possible.
9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
We are available on all major platforms, Spotify, Apple, Facebook, Amazon, Bandcamp, Instagram and www.everal.org. We suggest Bandcamp to buy our music and spreadshirt to buy our merch.
10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
Our music is independently self written, produced and recorded so what your hearing is our own personal hard work and commitment. We hope you connect with both the vocal performance and music looking for the deeper meaning within the songs. The individual members' influences are all reflected within the music at various times which gives us our own sound and touches on different genres and artists impact on our individual styles.
