Rockers HOUSE OF WOLVES have a handful of single's out and about, and have another all new song ready to be released. This band just wants to continue to write and record music that will lead to an EP release and hopefully some shows as well. See what else the band had to say about themselves and their music below.
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
The band is made up of Henry who writes the songs, sings, and plays guitar, Tom on drums and percussion and Jake on bass. Jake met Henry through a friend at work when his old band split up and he was looking for a new one. We played with a few drummers before calling Tom who Henry had met on a night out and luckily kept his number. We started playing together in June 2020 and instantly hit it off.
2. What is the origin of the band’s name?
We practice at Jakes grandad’s house and he breeds German Shepherds, so we were originally going to be called House of Dogs, but we thought House of Wolves had a better ring to it.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
We are based in Preston; Lancashire and the music scene is decent when everything is open there are some good venues around like The Ferret and The Continental. In terms of bands, we have worked with Tom Hale the guitarist from a local band called The Empire Police who are definitely worth checking out. He recorded mixed and mastered our tracks at future sounds studios and is very good at what he does. We also played a beer festival where the Jonny Oates Band were playing, who are also really good.
4. How would you describe your style
We have a variety of influences which can be seen in our songs. Henrys influences include Jimi Hendrix, Catfish and the Bottlemen, The Black Keys and Phoenix. Toms include Royal Blood, Lower than Atlantis, Biffy Clyro and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Jakes’ are Tame Impala, Gorillaz and Red Hot Chili Peppers. In terms of our tracks, we have more heavy rock upbeat tracks like Flames and more relaxed melodic tracks such as Pass Me By. We would probably fall under the alternative rock or rock category.
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
We have released 3 singles so far Flames, Pass Me By and Bones, all of which have had radio play on either BBC Lancashire Introducing or XS Manchester. People can expect a big sound from our songs with a powerful mix of instrumentals and vocals.
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
Yeah, we have another song ready to be released, although we have no plans to release it yet. We also have many other originals that we have yet to record and have been held back massively by the lockdowns. We haven’t been able to practice since last year because of it, although when we are able to, we have lots of ideas to be working on.
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
No big plans yet due to lockdown there is not anywhere open although we are trying to sort out stuff for when its over there is nothing concrete. We are looking forward to being able to play live again though eventually.
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
Hopefully start doing live shows again soon and now we have a few singles out our next step is to record an EP.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
Whatever they want to take from it. There is something for everyone in our music so I hope they can enjoy it if they give it the chance and listen through what we have to offer.
