Delilah Daybreaks's Doyle Says New Music in the Works and Hopes for Shows to Come Soon!

Early 2000's pop punk is how DELILAH DAYBREAKS sounds like, having released a couple of single's, a compilation and even an EP. They are currently writing some all new material as well. Like many other bands, these guys hope to play shows again come 2021 sometime soon. Find out what else as said from bandmate Doyle Alexander below.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

The band was started in 2015, I had known Owen for a couple of years before the band started, and Mycah was going to the same school as me so everything kind of fell into place from there. Owen and I had been playing together for a couple of years when the band started, Mycah wasn’t really even playing bass until he joined the band.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

The band’s name actually came from a conversation I was having with Mycah. He had asked me if I would still listen to Slipknot if they wore pink jumpsuits and were called Delilah Daybreakers, so I asked him if the music would be the same and I told him that the name would be kind of cool if you took the ER off the end, and it just kinda stuck from there.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is the music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We are from Minneapolis Minnesota and the local scene is actually pretty cool over here. There are tons of awesome artists that we’ve seen and played shows with over the years. Heart to Gold is probably my personal favorite, and another awesome band from Minnesota is Remo Drive who is kinda the hometown heroes of the Minnesota scene right now.

4. How would you describe your style?

We’re kind of that early 2000s pop-punk sound, at least the stuff that everyone can hear right now. I don’t want to give away too much about the stuff we are writing at the moment, but I’ll say it’s a little bit different.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We’ve only put out a couple of singles, a compilation, and an EP. The comp is really us trying to figure our sound out and on the EP we really found a sound that sounded like us. As far expectations go I think with the old stuff expect it to sound like early 2000s pop-punk and on the new stuff I just want people to walk in expecting something a bit different from what we’ve put out before.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

I don’t want to throw out any dates or anything… YET. I will say we are currently writing some new and exciting stuff that I am so hyped to show everyone once it’s ready.

7. How about playing shows and touring. Anything planned out?

Well, we wanted to play shows in 2020 but as everyone knows that hope was crushed to bits. In 2021 I’m a bit more hopeful, once stuff goes back to a new normal where we can safely play shows and stuff we’ll be playing as much as we can wherever we can.

8. What plans do you have for the future of the band?

We want to make more music, play more shows and grow however we can. We have something cool planned for June that should be really awesome, other than that I don’t want to give away too much.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

We are all over whatever streaming platform you use, and we’re trying to put out some more cool clips on YouTube and Facebook. As for buying stuff, we don’t have a ton available online quite yet.

10. What is it you would like the listener to remember most when hearing your music for the first time?

When someone hears our music I want that person to know that it’s completely genuine. In the song Confessional when I call myself an asshole and a traitor, I say that because I mean it and I felt like that. In every song we write, I’m putting my heart out there in the lyrics and I’m not holding a shred of realism back. We all put absolutely everything we can into our music, and there isn’t an ounce of bullshit. Especially with the new stuff that we’re writing, we’re really firing on all cylinders and not letting anything hold us back.
