Pop punk band KEEP THIS UP have a debut single out, with the band currently writing towards what will be the debut EP release. The band goes into talks about wanting to play a show, releasing new music and more.
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
The band have been around nearly 2 years – I (Chris) started the band with someone who is no longer in the band. But when we auditioned for a drummer, we had Dan turn up with a full drum kit in the boot of a Ford KA and we hired him on the spot just because we were that impressed. A few months ago, Myself & Dan met Mike through mutual friends and he started as our bassist but then he changed to become our lead guitarist and backup vocalist. This is the current line-up: Dan Shamma (Drummer), Chris Hicks (Rhythm Guitar + Lead Vocals), Mike Houldin (Lead Guitar, Backing Vocals).
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
The band name comes from a The Story So Far song title – Keep this up.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
The band is based in Peterborough, UK – We have an excellent music scene in the Cambridgeshire area with bands like Endeavour, Dead Reynolds, Call To The Faithful, Novastatus etc.
4. How would you describe your style?
We are a Pop Punk Genre band – We take influence from bands such as Green Day, Sum 41, Blink 182, Neck Deep, State Champs etc.

We are currently writing for our first EP and have a lot of songs in the works to hopefully release soon.
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
As a band we plan to keep recording and releasing music we love and tour/gig it as much as possible – We want to aim big and keep pushing so we can show everyone what we do.
9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
