Coral Palms Talks of More In-Store!

Indie go getters CORAL PALMS have a handful of single's out there, with new ideas and music in the works currently. They want to keep writing more, recording more and even playing gigs once more again soon! The band talks of this if not more.

1. Please tell us about the history of the band and its members.

Will - We met at university, the first band member I met was Callum on Day 1 but then some months later I met Ollie and we formed a very close friendship and musical connection. The band was born when it was time to submit some original music but it snowballed into much more than that once we took the songs to Adriano’s studio. Essentially, we were like pieces of puzzle slowing and perfectly, slotting together at the right moment.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

The beach and sunset element has always been a part of the band's life with the Torquay Bay being a huge part of our identity. The name itself actually originates from a 3 part episode of ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ in which the characters retreat to a resort called ‘The Coral Palms’.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We’re mostly based in the Home Counties, aside from Ollie who’s all the way down in Torquay. The main base of operations is Ads studio in London. Coral Palms has mainly gigged around London and Torquay and we’ve met so many great bands along the way. Gigging in London gives us overwhelming exposure to the scene.

4. How would you describe your style?

Our style is rhythmically driven, stylistically energetic and lyrically emotional.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We have released three singles which were the first three songs we finished as a band. Expect more singles, getting to know us more and a development in our sound - In short, expect more indie pop bangers!

6. Do you have any music in the works?

We have tonnes. And we have plans for them. Lots of ideas that stacked up over the lockdowns that need to be heard.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

Other than a local show in Torquay at the end of July we’ve not got much going on. We find so much joy from being on stage and want to get some more shows in the books ASAP!

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

To keep writing, recording, gigging our music and getting as many people as possible to go mad to it at festivals.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

We’re on Spotify, Apple Music, all the streaming platforms - also check out our YouTube for some exclusive content, as well as our Tik Tok and Instagram! We’re hoping to start creating some original merch so keep an eye out for that too!

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

Let loose, have fun. Don’t take life too seriously.
