Modern day metalcore band A MOMENTS NOTICE releasing not one but two tracks out now, with them in the current process of working upon a new EP. They just want to get out there and play shows and lots more. The band discusses all of this content below.
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
The Band was initially created as a solo project. I had a background in deathcore/hardcore and had a fire to step outside my comfort zone musically. I wanted to explore something a bit more melodic and see where my passion for fusing these different sub genres could lead. The first single “Silver Lining” was the result. Drummer Jordan Alvarez and I had been in a project prior. He heard silver lining and was immediately on board, sharing the vision. Bassist Zaryn and I grew up together. We’ve known each other for 20 years so when he heard the direction of the project and wanted to a part of it it was a no-brainer. Zaryn brought guitarist David in from another band Apollo Keys, the band had been on a stand still so when David heard the music we had released he was instantly a fan of the direction we were going. Johnny Avila reached out to us after hearing the second single release “Endless Waltz, the track made him really excited and he saw potential in the project as a whole. Jonny had learned our first single “Silver Lining” by ear and we all knew right then that we needed to bring him into the band. Everything truly came together so organically. We are so stoked to be A Moments Notice!
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
The name just came up in conversation one day between Jordan and I. The name came out and he instantly was stoked on the name. I had called the solo project A Moments Notice and quickly it became Jordan and I excited to do this as a internet only deal which didn’t take long for it to be a full time band.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
The band is based out of Sacramento, California. The music scene is wild out here. We have such a tight knit community in California in general. Sacramento is full of creatives and it’s awesome because no matter what genre or what your art form is, people are so receptive to it. The support is amazing.
4. How would you describe your style?
I would like to say that we are paying homage to some of the earlier days of Metalcore with a modern twist.
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
We released Silver Lining November 5th and Endless Waltz Dec 10th. Both tracks were produced by Nick Miller of A Skylit Drive. People can expect some nostalgia with our playing style. We have received some positive feedback that our style is “ a breath of fresh air” and we are thrilled to hear that.
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
We are currently in the process of working on an E.P. New music should be released very soon in 2022!
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
We are very excited to play live. We have some shows planned starting in March and some potential tours in the works.
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
Our goal is to play as many shows as possible! We would love for our music to connect with people all over the world. We want to tour as much as we can and hope to be the U.K. And Europe soon!
9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
Our music is available on all streaming platforms and YouTube. Our merchandise is online with links to all our social media accounts.
10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
Our music comes from the heart. We want to be relatable and for people to connect with what we are creating. We also hope to inspire more artists to do what they believe in and go out of their comfort zones through our music.
