Get ready for another taste of the WASTE! Richmond's hard-charging, thrash metal maniacs MUNICIPAL WASTE have revealed the blistering second single, "High Speed Steel," from their massively-anticipated 7th studio album, "Electrified Brain," that's due out July 1st via Nuclear Blast.

Commenting on the single, guitarist Ryan Waste says: “High Speed Steel is our ode to an era when heavy metal was transitioning into a faster form. We pushed the limits of our sound to channel that classic dynamic and keep the intensity high.  It’s about overcoming the pressure and slicing down the odds when everything is stacked against you.”

Diabolical death metal squadron BELPHEGOR have released an atmospheric video for their brand new single, "Virtus Asinaria - Prayer," which is the second single from their upcoming twelfth full-length The Devils, due out on June 24th via NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS. "Virtus Asinaria - Prayer" is a change of pace with its more sustained yet inherently sinister approach, slowly luring you in with entrancing melodies and ceremonial chants that indicate impending doom. The video for the song was partially shot at the scenic and infamous Neudegg Alm in Abtenau, Austria, and it can be watched below.

HELMUTH states: "Our new video for the track 'VIRTUS ASINARIA – PRAYER' pairs BELPHEGOR´s bizarre live procession with an intimate ritual of sulfur, passion & blood. For he shall rise, heretic goat of flesh & lust! It stands for what BELPHEGOR has always stood: liberty and the everlasting spiritual & bodily manifestation of carnal sin upon this rotten world!” In Musick, Helmuth

While not explicitly about the X-Files per se, Young Medicine's heavy-hitting "UFO Party" draws heavily from the acclaimed series. Pivoting to the electronic rock side, "UFO Party" is a driving single featuring a turbulent array of synthesizers, drums, and heavy guitars, wrapped seamlessly around thought-provoking lyrics.

"'UFO Party' is a self-reflection on being a shut-in and of feeling stagnant. Driving through the areas you used to know growing up that have all changed, the people having moved on or away while you feel stuck doing the same thing," states Young Medicine. "All set to the backdrop of watching X-Files for the thirtieth time while doom scrolling on the phone."

"UFO Party" is available now on all platforms from independent multi-genre label FiXT. Check it out over HERE.

On July 29th, 2022 extreme metal masters Arch Enemy will unleash their 11th studio album, Deceivers, via Century Media Records. Arch Enemy's founder and chief songwriter Michael Amott comments: "Behold the 'Sunset Over The Empire', the 4th single from our upcoming 'Deceivers' album! This is a faster song with some manic riffs and a relentless beat that I can envision becoming a 'hit in the pit'! Lyrically, it's sadly one of those that seems to ring more true with each and every passing day nowadays...'Words turned to war, brother fighting brother, another false truce, as the people die...'. The accompanying video was shot in Poland with the Grupa13 team and doesn't follow the lyrics slavishly but has a great message and vibe in its own right. Oh, and I'm stoked that we're releasing 'Sunset Over The Empire' as a limited edition physical single on 7" vinyl!" For a preview of the record, the new single, "Sunset Over The Empire", can be streamed worldwide now HERE.

Influential and highly regarded Orange County, CA metalcore giants BLEEDING THROUGH have made their awaited post-pandemic return with a fierce new single titled "Rage" via SharpTone Records. Their first new music in 4 years, comes ahead of the band's upcoming performances at So What?! Music Festival, Blue Ridge Rock Festival and Furness Fest.

Commenting on their anticipated return and the new single, founding vocalist Brandan Schieppati says:

"Screaming into a microphone and playing music with my friends after 20 plus years and after a pandemic seemed like an impossibility. Low and behold here we are creating music again. Personally the last few years has been a total mental battle. This music is my weapon against doubt and depression.  The song 'RAGE' was created with the anger and frustration built up over the last few years. This song is us joining the fight to have music heal a struggling world. 'RAGE' is the sound of 20 plus years as a band and years of built up aggression. No bullshit. Straight up Bleeding Through."

Miss May I have released a new video of the track titled "Bleed Together". "'Bleed Together' describes the connection a parent has with their child and the lengths they are willing to go to be there for them. It is a natural instinct for a parent to want to guard their child and for some that still seems to be something that was missing in their life. This song is from my perspective and an emotional follow up to our song ‘Hey Mister’ which describes the lack of a father figure around in one's life." - Levi Benton Check it right HERE.

October Drift have a new video single out for the track titled "Webcam Funerals". ‘Webcam Funerals’ is taken from the band’s forthcoming second album I Don’t Belong Anywhere out September 23rd via Physical Education Recordings. It’s a taut, visceral record and a step forward for the band into an even more powerful sound following their highly acclaimed debut album Forever Whatever in 2018. The new album is about connection and one that’s truly from the heart, which will prove to be their most thoughtful and exciting record yet. Check it HERE.

British rock band Asking Alexandria has released a new single via Better Noise Music. The band has dropped the latest version of their song “Faded Out” with Sharon den Adel of Within Temptation, a track that describes devastating sadness. Australian Thrash/Melodic Death Metal band Stellagen released their debut album "From Dying Stars". The album was recorded mixed/ mastered by Brendan Sloan at Overland Studio, South Australia.

Stellagen was formed in Sydney, Australia in 2019 with the simple goal of making metal they wanted to listen to: heavy yet melodic, with memorable choruses and shredding guitar solos, incorporating elements from death/ black metal but with the sense of melody and catchiness of power metal in both the vocals and guitars. The band features Phil Brown (Vocals/ Guitars), Jimmy Lardner-Brown (Guitars) and Symon Haddad (Bass) with session drums provided by Robin Stone.

British Metalcore We Are Sovereign have released a new video for the track “Nostalgia (Acceptance)”. The single premiered on Kerrang! Radio and the video premiered on V13!

Speaking about the track, vocalist Laura Russell had this to say:

"Have you ever had those moments in your life where you feel lost and fear the unknown? When you feel so overwhelmed you just long to go back to those moments where you felt safe and happy. The realisation eventually hits you that you can never go back and feel exact moments at that exact time in your life ever again.

That's a scary thought and eventually we have to let go. That's the difficult part. Nostalgia can be amazing and heartfelt but at the same time it can be so dangerous and toxic. You have to know the boundaries of when it's OK to reflect and when it's time to let go."

This time, Brick Metal puppeteer BEN BLUTZUKKER reimagined FORT NIMMERMEHR's song "Isolate", forging a Darkwave-to-Dark Metal transition. The metal version features classic Beauty-and-the-Beast vocals between songstress Doti and growling Ben. The male vocals were not part of the original electronic version found on FORT NIMMERMEHR's recent album "Varied". Check it HERE.

Black Reuss was formed in 2018 at Triesen, Liechtenstein by Maurizio Dottores as a one-man project. Russian Melodic Heavy Metal band Insomnia Continuum released their new single "Against the Fall of Night". The single was recorded in the band's home studio, and mixed/mastered at " Varlamov Studio" by Sergey Varlamov.

Check out the single linked below:

Insomnia Continuum was formed in Moscow in 2020 by Marina Pavlova (vocals), Boris Sergeev (vocals) and Alexey Matveichev (guitar). Inspired by the music of Blind Guardian, Helloween and Falconer, as well as masterpieces of English romantic poetry, the musicians recorded two singles - ‘The Listeners’ and ‘Insomnia’ in 2020. The events of February 2022 influenced the band's music and lyrics - the music became harder, drier, moving away from fantasy metal with a clear influence of folk closer to classic heavy / progressive metal.

French metallers Except One have released a video for their latest single “Silent Scream”, taken from their latest album, ‘Broken’, which came out on January 15th 2022.

Vocalist Estelle had this to say about the song: “The silent scream of inner sufferings that can lead to do something irreparable, despite the efforts and energy used to stay afloat and the promises made to close ones which won’t save you from drowning in the end.”

Check it HERE.

Up and coming metalhead's GFM or Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh, has been together for sometime, even talking with us a while back, but now they have much more going on. Ranging from a tour, upcoming EP, and just lots of talk about those and plans ahead.

1. So your band's namesake as a whole is Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh but its since been shortened to GFM how come?

We’ve been running as GFM for a bit now, and it’s really just because it’s easier to say and fit on a tshirt haha. Anytime we’re asked about its meaning though, we’re not afraid to tell them that it stands for Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh and what that means!

2. Do you think those who aren't familiar with GFM knows of the band's full namesake or everyone is just on the if you know it, you know it otherwise just call us "GFM"?

I think it’s a bit of both. We just got off a big tour, and there were people asking us what GFM meant, but there were also people that looked up our band before coming to the show, so they knew the full name. So, I think it’s really a mix of both.

3. It's been 2 years since we last spoke and your released your EP "Operation Takeover", with another EP on the way "Framing My Perception" how do these two differ and compare to one another?

Both of these projects have a mix of heaviness and a pop punk attitude, but with Framing My Perception, we wanted to make sure we grew as a band. We never want to stay stagnant, so we chose to work on our melodies and develop our screams and choruses. Framing My Perception also has content that identifies the root issue among many relationships and ideas of Christian faith.  Operation Take Over was about literally taking over the world together and being a tight-knit community, but we realized you can’t help others unless you help yourself first.  We wanted to bring those issues to light, so that we can be a strong force, not only between sisters, but with our listeners as well.

4. Why go and release another EP as opposed to an LP? The last time LP's were released were back in 2015 with "Death Of Giants" and 2016's "Identity Crisis". Will those see a re-release perhaps?

So, we’ve been releasing Eps a lot. We wanted to put out lots of music in a short amount of time, and we realized you’re kind of restricted on releasing new music when you’re trying to push an entire album. We had to wait 3 years before releasing another project the last time we did an album, but that time is really necessary if you want to make the production cost worth it. EPs have been a little easier to make, and we’ve been able to release something every year since we started working with EPs. We’d love to do another album though because they really do take on a life of their own. So it’s not a confirmed yes or no as to whether we’d do another one or not!

5. Would you say the material found upon this EP is more on the lighter side compared to the hasher vocals of the last EP?

While there are a couple of lighter songs, the EP as a whole is definitely not lighter haha. Maggie gave a go at gutturals on one of the songs if that gives you any hints!

6. How did you get signed on with Rockfest Records, what made them the "one" to all the rest out there?

Joseph Rojas from Seventh Day Slumber is actually the head of Rockfest Records, and Seventh Day Slumber was the first band to bring us out on the road. They have given us so many of our first opportunities, so it just makes sense that they would be our first record deal as well. They have become our family, so we know they’ll be pushing GFM just as hard as we are, and we know they have our best interests in mind!

7. The upcoming EP see's a release of May 27th 2022 and that turns out to be a day off for you, on this current tour, so do you have a secret party planned out? Hence why the day off?!?!

The tour actually ended a week before the release, so we’ll be able to be home for release day! We have a hometown show at Kona Skatepark the day after, so it will be nice to celebrate with everyone.

8. Speaking of which Fozzy's Jericho invited you guys out on this tour, how has this tour been going for you?

Tour was a blast. It was a crazy whirlwind of learning experiences, excited crowds, and pure fun and joy. The guys in Fozzy were super supportive of us and welcomed us into their road family. We couldn’t have asked for a better tour.

9. You being a part of the Christian music scene, do you think talking about spirituality in music is becoming more popular and accepted in mainstream music?

I think it really is honestly. We’ve personally not received hate for being open with our faith from the stage, and we’re seeing bands who previously rejected anything to do with Christianity become more open to the idea of faith, and they’re starting to ask more questions too.

10. Does the band ever get criticized for not being Christian enough? IF so, how do you respond to those people?

We get our fair share of people that don’t really understand what we’re doing as a band. We try to be as open as we can, and we love to discuss with people. We understand our music and style is not for everyone, and that’s okay. We would encourage people to talk to us if they don’t understand our mission though.

11. What’s something that would surprise your fans to know about you?

We are very open with our fans and do a bunch of live streams, so there’s not much that our fans don’t know about haha. I don’t know that our fans would be surprised by anything at this point!

12. What does next year hold for GFM?

We’re still pushing through the rest of this year! We’ve got several tours lined up, as well as some crazy summer festivals. We’re excited to release new music and continue all the creative projects that come along with it. We’re hoping to join more tours next year, and possibly get back overseas once restrictions are released for traveling!

13. Anything else you want to add on?

Definitely make sure you are following @thegfmband on all social media sites because that is where information is announced first! We run all of our accounts, so don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We love hearing from our listeners, and we want to make sure everyone knows we are available to help. Go stream Framing My Perception!

Metal go getters THE METAL FACTORY have an album out, with some single's and some new music videos and more content underway! The band talks of this content, events, and more all below.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

The band Metal Factory is female – fronted metal band from Czechia led by 2 singers. It was formed in 2021 by guitarist Vašek Moch and after their first successful single called „Dirty Game“ Metal Factory released debut album „DEFEAT ALL“ on February 22, 2022. There are currently 5 permanent members of the band – 2 lead singers, Pavlína Mochová and Zuzana Batková, Vašek Moch (guitars), Jaroslav Sedláček (bass) and Dan Jureček (drums). The complete instrumental section of the band came from a Czech powermetal band that performed at the biggest Czech metal festivals and as a support of metal bands like Accept, Freedom Call, Sabaton, Primal Fear, Dragonforce, Tarja etc.

 About our lead singers:

Pavlína Mochová - before the Metal Factory engagement, Pavlina sang in several local bands and “party bands” - she liked to sing cover versions too - such as Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Metallica etc., and in 2014 she even won national competition called “Czechia sings – Česko zpívá”. She studied Piano and she is a fan of art, photohraphy, drawing, gardening, animals, pets and computer games.

Zuzana Batková – she sang in several local bands and liked to sing covers too, including progress or gothic metal songs. She is a multi-instrumentalist and plays keys, guitar, flute, cajon and little bit cello. She loves sports and has her own board game club.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

The band comes from the city of Ostrava. This town is called “the steel heart” of the Czech Republic, there are a huge number of industrial companies in the region, engaged in the production of iron and steel. Many historically important metal bands of the Czech scene come from here.  Some of us have civilian jobs related to the production of metals. We grew up in close to ironworks in our town, we listen to metal all our lives and we want to follow this link. Everything makes sense.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We have already answered the first part of the question in the previous paragraph, but to be specific to the local music scene: from  historical and legendary bands from the Ostrava region, we can mention, for example bands Citron or Doga. In the Czech Republic we have a number of rock and metal bands with english lyrics, many of them at a very good level. Eagleheart, Surma, Sebastien, Dymytry and many more.

4. How would you describe your style?

The first CD is very diverse from our point of view (and from the point of view of the reviewers), which was our intention. Sometimes it's possible to hurt because the reviewers don't know where to put us, but we wanted to know the reactions and be more specific in the next creation. At the moment, we are somewhere on the border between heavy/power and melodic metal.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

In 2021 we released the first singles (Dirty Game, Defeat All, Live Your Dream, Infection with Relief) and on February 22, 2022 we released the first CD, which contains all the singles in the new sound-design and contains a total of 12 tracks. From us You can expect pure metal with strong female vocals, without unnecessary embellishments. With strong rhythms and guitar solos, that's clear. If You like metal bands like Battle Beast, then (we believe) you are at the right address.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

We are currently preparing new official music video with song from the CD, but we have a lot of new ideas that we are excited about. It is possible to expect further news in the coming months. We don´t have to hurry, we want us to move the recordings to the highest level possible. But there are really a lot of ideas and recordings in progress.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

This year we started the first season that we spend in the Czech Republic, but at really great events from our point of view. We expect that the coming seasons can be very strong after the covid break. Looking forward to them. The listeners' reactions are great so far, higher than we expect.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

We want to record a new CD, raise it to the maximum possible level and, of course, to perform at the most interesting events at home and abroad. We would like the new CD to be released by some of the quality worldwide labels. But we will definitely not overtake, we want to present the current debut CD live and get as much attention as possible.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

The CD is available in physical form at e-mail: metal.factory@seznam.cz - of course, all songs are available on streaming platforms, but only a CD guarantees the best quality. It is also possible to order a digital copy of the CD via e-mail, including a digital booklet, directly from us. You can also order our original merchandise - t-shirts, sweatshirts, patches, women's dresses and much more. We think our logo looks very nice on them.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

To remember our face. The sound design or details may change over time, but the basic character of the band remains and we believe that despite all the modern metal bands we will find and keep our face. The tip is to be sure to listen to the songs in order as they go on the record. From our point of view, the song Never Again is a power metal classic in triplet rhythm that really opens the record, just as it opens concerts at the moment. On the CD Defeat All, we would like to present each song as a separate story.

Rock band THE GRYM SINS have been a band for a while, releasing a few single's actually. They even have quite the amount of all new music ready to go! The band talks of shows and music.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

We originally started as a cover band. Billy (guitarist) and I were in an older cover band before splintering off and forming what would eventually be The Grym Sins. We picked up our bassist Daniel soon after and went through a few drummers before landing on John, who joined this past July. In the early days we were still somewhat a cover band, but we really started getting creative when COVID hit. We started writing a lot of music and released our first two songs around this time last year. Now we’re playing full sets of our own stuff and constantly adding more to the list.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

In the early days, when we were still a cover band, we were called Krymzen. When COVID hit, we sat down together and decided what direction we were going to go with the band. We made the decision to rebrand our name and release some of the material we had been working on. We separated Krymzen into two words, and at the suggestion of a close friend to change the K to a G we eventually came up with the name as it’s seen now, The Grym Sins.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We come from the Mountain State of West Virginia, specifically Morgantown. Before moving to Morgantown, we were all sort of spread out across the state, but are now mostly in the same area. The music scene here in WV is honestly pretty insane. Some of the bands that this state has produced have made it into my top 5 favorite bands of all time and constantly inspire me in my own songwriting. Bands like Ducain, The Lonely Ones, and a band we’ve frequently played with called Truckstop are all amazing artists and are a lot of fun to listen and jam to.

4. How would you describe your style?

Ah, the tough question. Personally, I’d say our style blends together rock sounds from every decade, mixing 70s classic rock sounds and grooves with 90s grunge-era heavy and, well, grungy tones. Each member has vastly different music tastes and artists that inspire us, so we really get a mix of different styles when we write music. We’re also greatly inspired by a lot of modern bands like Rival Sons and Dirty Honey, so I’d say our style is in the same vein as a lot of hard rock and Zeppelin-inspired bands.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We have a few singles out right now! This time last year we released our two standalone singles “Miss Sunshine” and “Turn Me to Stone”. Most recently, we actually just released our new song “Golden Headstone” last Friday. We released these songs because we felt like they showcased the mix of groovy and heavy sounds that we enjoy writing and sharing with the world, so those wondering what to expect from us can get a pretty good idea from what we have released. They can expect headbanging riffs, lyrical storytelling, and a lot of passion.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

We have quite a lot of new music that we’ve been working on for years now! Our newest single “Golden Headstone” is actually the first single off of our upcoming debut EP, which is coming out this summer. We’ve been in the studio recording it for the past week and all I can say is be ready for it. It’s a compilation of some of the band’s favorite material, and we are extremely excited to put it out into the world.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We’re currently going into festival season for the summer, but we do have a tour in the works for the release of the EP. We don’t have exact dates yet, but we’re expecting to hit some surrounding states on the east coast, so if you see that we’re in town or nearby in the future come out and rock out with us! We have a few shows lined up right now outside of the tour like Morgantown Music Festival this Saturday, opening for former Saving Abel vocalist Scotty Austin at the Dil’s Center June 10, and the RimRocks 2022 festival at a local venue called The Rim on July 15, all of which we are immensely honored to be a part of.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Right now we have a lot of really big plans for the band’s future. We have the EP release and subsequent tour coming soon this summer, which is a huge step for us. Like I mentioned earlier we’re currently going into festival season and are in the process of booking some of those as well. At some point we want to do a cover of an Alice in Chains song or something similar, so be on the lookout for that. We’re already planning out our first album, what tracks are going on it, what it will be called, the whole shebang. And who knows, maybe, just maybe, one day, we’ll play the Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Our music is pretty everywhere that you can find music! Spotify, Apple Music, whatever streaming platform you use we are most likely on. We also have a music video for “Golden Headstone” out now on YouTube. You can buy our stuff mainly at our shows, but we are now in the process of setting up an online store where you’ll be able to order merch there!

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

We’d like new listeners to remember the things that we as a band personally enjoy from our music. Writing the lyrics and riffs to our music is a lot of fun for us, and we try to show that at our live shows. We want people who listen to our music for the first time, whether at a concert or online, to remember the amount of passion we put into our music and the amount of fun we have doing it.

Progressive heavy metal rockers SUNRUNNER have five album's out, along with some EP's and a live release too. New songs are in the idea process for now, with much else also in the works too. See what else the band discusses about all below.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

We started jamming in 2007 with no direction. It was Frank Navarro who played bass and guitar, a friend named Andy Moulton who was big into jazz guitar and myself who came from a metal background. Eventually we started writing songs and Ted MacInnes started playing drums for us. In 2008 or 2009, Dave Joy joined the ranks as singer/ bass player. Andy left to pursue jazz music and the rest of us kept going. We also coined the name Sunrunner and things started to get serious. It has pretty much been the same members ever since, with a couple guys who have come and gone, but the 4 of us are still together. Kind of…

Doug Porter, a local guitar legend joined us just before we went to the studio for ‘Time In Stone’ around 2013, making us a 5 piece. Since our third album ‘Heliodromus’ (2015), Frank has taken a back seat and helped in the writing, jamming and artwork department, but decided he couldn’t commit to shows and tours. So Dave switched to bass permanently. We hired a third guitarist/ singer/ multi-instrumentalist, Erik Neilson. Making us a 6 piece. The second and third records, we all kind of switched off singing. Doug and Erik were not in the band for very long and left just after finishing the ‘Heliodromus’ record. We immediately became a 3 piece for live shows. But after gaining some nice connections during our first tour of Brazil, we found a new lead singer, Bruno Neves from Frutal.

So in a way, we are still the original line up, but things have morphed over the years. A few members have come and gone, but it is still Ted, Dave, Frank, and myself, (except Frank only writes). And we have Bruno on lead vocals.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Well, it’s not that interesting of a story haha. Back when Frank and I were roommates, we found a lost female Siberian Husky dog in the street. Now we are hundreds miles from anywhere in a very woodsy town. Anyway, we brought her home with us since she had a tag. We didn’t have cell phones yet. It was 2008 or 2009. We got home and called the owners they were happy but  couldn’t come pick up the dog until the next day. So we had the dog for a full day. We had fun with her. But we kept forgetting her name when we would call to her. It was like Sunshine or Sundog or Sunspots. We were yelling different names to her. At some point Frank yelled Sunrunner. And at that time, I might have been slightly buzzed from a few beers and a little weed. I thought to myself, that would be a cool name. I dwelled on it for a moment and said to Frank “dude, let’s call the band Sunrunner! And that was it!

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We are from New England. I am originally from the burbs of Boston. But I have lived in the state of Maine for about 20 years. Dave is from Maine. Ted and Frank are from Connecticut. And Bruno is from Brazil. So none of us live close by. We just say we are from New England. But Portland is kind of the center hub for us. There are some really cool bands from here. Ogre, Confusatron, Doomstone. There are quite a few, but those are my favorite.

4. How would you describe your style?

Classic heavy metal with a mix of progressive rock. Not really prog metal though. We are not virtuoso musicians. But we tend to write things out of the box and there is odd time signatures involved. We also incorporate other instruments like acoustics, bouzouki, flutes and percussion once in a while. Like 1 or 2 songs per album will have some embellishments. We also try to capture the music live and keep the production at a minimum. Try to keep it raw. Also unlike prog metal which tends to be perfect and polished. We jokingly call it working class prog metal haha. We have heard the term heavy prog sometimes. But I’m not sure how accurate that is. But at the core, we play seventies and eighties style heavy metal

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We have five full length albums released in the past 11 years. There is also a few E.P.’s in between and an official bootleg live c.d.

The first album was the most progressive. We jumped in not knowing which direction to go. We experimented too much in my opinion. So the next album, we made sure to put the rock and metal more in the foreground. So you can expect each c.d. we made, to get heavier consecutively. Also, the songs are more coherent now. In the beginning, we had a lot of longer songs. We still like to have an epic song on each album, but we have trimmed some of the excess off how we used to compose. The songs make more sense now.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Always. There are always riffs, demos, ideas and ambition for new songs. I have a lot of ideas myself. Working out some tunes right now actually.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

Covid really messed things up for that. We haven’t played a show in 2 and a half years I think. We are scrambling to find a new booking agent to set up some tours. But if we can’t, we might just stay locally this Summer and get back into the groove of playing live.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Well, we have lots and lots of ideas. If all goes as planned, we will have many more records to come. There are so many ideas, I just don’t know what will come to fruition. Some things I shouldn’t even mention because the likelihood of them coming into existence is small, but not impossible. All I can say is the drive and ambition is there.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

Good question! I would like them to hear that we are a different sort of proggy influenced metal. A primitive prog metal. In fact, forget about the prog. The newer stuff we tried to make sound normal. For example, playing a simple beat in an odd time signature, smoothing out the music. And keeping the key changes less dramatic. So, the newest album, you might not even hear the prog. It is more subtle now. Well, I don’t really have the answer to this question actually. As long as they don’t think we totally suck, that would be great hahaha!

Rock artist PIECES has been around for sometime, releasing a debut track, along with much more music on the way as well this summer! The man himself behind this act goes into discussion's about his music and what he has planned next.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Erm, it’s just me, Paul, aka pieces. The project started during the Covid lockdown of 2020 when I was gifted all this extra time to really invest in my own personal goals in life. It was an opportunity I’d never really had before, or maybe I did but I was just too busy procrastinating or making excuses of why it was out of reach. I had a vision for the music so pursued it on my own to keep it simple, but I’ve been working with some incredibly kind and talented people to bring the project to life, namely Groove Machine duo Alex Condliffe and Noah Booth (Ratboy & Low Lying Sun), ex Prodigy and Pitchshifter guitarist Jim Davies, and Ramon Blanco, grandson’s lead guitarist. These are artists who’ve all had a massive impact on my own musical upbringing, and they’ve shaped what I’m creating today. Plus I’ve got some great friends who have listened to endless mixes and versions of tracks, giving feedback and providing ideas - they’ve all helped me on the way. Putting together a band is the next step.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

My mate Mick actually chose the name ‘pieces’ and it really struck a chord with me, and I’d wasted enough time worrying about a name and just wanted to get the music out there. pieces is a reflection of where I’ve come from… Having recovered from a hopeless drug addiction, I felt like I’d been picking up the pieces of my life over the past few years, and I’m now in a place where I seem t have got my shit together, enough for me to throw myself into my music anyway. The music is a piece of me, all the songs are deeply personal and writing and creating them as helped me heal.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

I’m born and raised in Essex. I’m of mixed heritage, my grandparents were Windrush generation from Guyana (but their ancestors were Indian), and my dad’s family were Welsh. In Essex, the scene is on the up - we’ve got some great bands, artists like Low Lying Sun and Bilk are killing it. Plus we’ve got some real biguns like Nothing But Thieves.

4. How would you describe your style?

It’s so difficult to put myself in a genre, I just think it’s rock music. It’s noisy, aggressive and electronic, but everything’s rooted in bastard heavy guitar riffs.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

My debut track ‘soul’ came out in April. After a number of years clean and sober, I wrote it as a reminder of the chaos I’d left behind in the madness of day-to-day drug addiction. It keeps me focussed on staying out of trouble, trying to be a better person and helping others… I hope the song might help someone else who’s still desperately trying to find a way out.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Yep there’s plenty more to come. My next track ‘RIPs & likes’ comes out on June 10th. That and ‘soul’ will form part of an EP this year, with around 5 or 6 tracks on it. There’s more in the back pocket too and I’m always writing.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

That’s the next step for me. Like I said, I don’t even have a band yet. So if anyone likes what they hear, hit me up.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

As an artist, I just want to create something I’m proud of, something that I can say ‘fuck, I did that’ and if people like it, that’s a bonus. I don’t really have a plan, as long as it stays fun and gives me some purpose in life, I’ll keep doing it and see where it takes me.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

You can listen to my stuff on most streaming services, my socials are all @thisispieces.

I’m not even selling merch yet! I have one ‘pieces’ T shirt and I sent that to Ramon, fingers crossed he’ll wear it when grandson plays at Download! If this is out before then, come find me in the pit.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

That’s pretty deep, not even sure of the answer! I just hope they really feel it, turn it up loud and hopefully they might get 3 minutes peace from whatever they’re dealing with in life.

Pop rockers EXPORTER have a trio of musicians that have come to form this band. Since their formation, the band has had demo's released, an EP, with a debut album out and about too. The trio bans together to do the talking about their music and themselves.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Destin Cavazos: Alec and I have been playing music together for 10 years now, even longer if you count messing around on Rock Band. As brothers, we always had the benefit of just jamming at home growing up, and we realized we really enjoyed playing and writing music together. So we thought, hey let’s just make a band! We shuffled through a couple drummers over the years (you know how it goes) before we started playing with Henry Kish on the skins. It’s funny, our first show with Kish was his first time playing in front of an audience. But obviously, he had a great time and he’s stuck with us since.

Alec Cavazos: We started as a three piece in 2015 consisting of us two, Alec and Destin, joined by our good friend Jessica Lord on drums. That was the original lineup and it remained that way until mid 2017, when she had to start focusing on getting into college and school work.  We then recruited our neighbor and good friend Owen Dawson to join us, pretty much after joining, he too went off to school. Destin and I wanted to keep a band going so we were stoked to find Henry (Kish), someone I had played baseball with and whose dad played drums for our dad’s band. That was in October of 2018. Since then we have had the same lineup.

 2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

AC: In the original line up we went under the name Adjective stylized as “adj.” for our initials (Alec,Destin,Jess). When Jess left and Owen started, that didn’t really work and we changed the name to Porter. Our dad is a Smiths fan and saw a documentary that mentioned John Porter (Producer) and he told us the name. Johnny Marr is a stud so we thought that could be cool. Plus Destin got kicked out of a college named “Porter” so we thought it was natural. We put out our first demo (Hidden City Sessions) under that name even though Jess was involved in the writing if some of the songs. We went under Porter from about 2017 to early 2019 when we discovered another, already prominent band from Mexico under the same name. Growing up fans of Blink 182, we know the story of their name and how they were faced with a similar problem. Instead of waiting for any legal trouble that may arise in the future we decided to change it and saw it fitting to become exPorter as we were technically once Porter. We have received a lot of feedback on people preferring the exPorter name so it looks like we made the right choice. Plus all our merch says it so exPorter is here for good.

DC: We used to call ourselves “Porter” after legendary Smiths producer John Porter. After playing under that name for about a year or two, we started getting bigger as a band and we started looking to upload the tracks we’d been recording, but we knew there was another band out in Mexico using the name Porter. We took inspiration from our idols in blink-182 and threw the “ex” up front to differentiate ourselves and the band was officially born! I always chuckle because to me, an “exPorter” sounds like some guy carrying around all his feelings about his ex, which is a vibe I think rings true in a lot of our music.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

AC: We are based out of Southern California and formed Santa Barbara. There is actually a decent little music scene up in SB. It’s a mix of local bands like ours and around growing bands out of University of California Santa Barbara and the college party scene, but it promotes music very well. There are a handful of college bands that come and go through the years and a few that we have grown quite close to in recent years particularly. Some of the bands up here we like playing with are Loc Dawgs, Lizardsmouth, Feel Better and others; all of which vary in genre from surf rock to pop punk to indie pop.

DC: We’re in different locations but we were originally based out of Santa Barbara, CA. The music scene in town has always been pretty active, I remember catching local bands around town all through high school. There’s no shortage of groups getting out there and playing music, and there’s a good variety of venues in town. A lot of different sounds in the scene too—one band we play with pretty regularly is a banjo-based rock group called Trout Club, it’s a really unique vibe. I also think the local radio station 92.9 KJEE does a really good job of helping bands in the area build buzz, they’ve even put a few of our songs on the radio; they really do a lot in support of the local scene.

Henry Kish: Yep - Lizardsmouth, Trout Club, Odd Army – all cool bands we’ve played with.

4. How would you describe your style?

AC: Our style in music is heavily influenced by the 90s pop punk scene and 80s pop rock scene, with bands like Blink 182, Green Day, The Cure and The Smiths as some of our leading influences. I know Kish, brings in a little separate influence that can be heard in the drums from bands like The Who, Turnstile and anything classic rock/heavy punk.

HK: Bombastic and fun.  I want there to always be energy in all our performances, on our recordings, and especially live.  If people are moving I feel successful in what I'm playing.

DC: Our style is a high energy mix of all the rock and roll we’ve come to love. Our music really pays homage to the wonder years of pop punk, when all the kids were lacing up their Vans and screaming along to Good Charlotte down at the skate park. It’s the kind of bright and breezy music you can sing in the car with the windows down, but it’s still got enough spiky guitars and angst to keep your parents pissed off. With lyrics that dance between sensual and self-deprecating, I feel like a good deal of our songs hit on a more playful brand of pop-punk. Alec and I grew up going to Warped Tour every summer, and I think that influence is really clear on a lot of our music; that sort of rough-edged radio rock is really the core of our sound.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

AC: Well we have the Hidden City Sessions demos out in the world. That was basically 6 songs recorded in like 3 hours. Our co-producer on the new album Elliott (Lanam) filled in edits and drums for that. In 2019 we released our EP “Bored” that was recorded with Matt Molloy and Made for More recording. We also have various singles and home recordings that we put out during the pandemic. Everything we’ve done so far has been self-released. And within the next week, our debut album will also be released – NoBrakesNoBrakesNoBrakes.

I think all of our tracks and releases hold on to the basics of pop punk, maybe some emo pop, but we don’t shy away from experimenting or making things our own. I think our dad described our vibe in a pretty good way, it’s like if Blink and Smoking Popes had a baby.

Some of our stuff will slow down and other pick up and make you want to run in a circle with your buds. When you listen to the new album there’s a ton of different directions we added but they all somehow tie back to who we are. Definitely helped having someone like Elliott just know who we are and what we want to do.

DC: So far, we’ve released a handful of singles and EP’s; it’s a good mix of studio tracks and self-produced songs. Our first EP “Bored” was released in the fall of 2019 and since then we’ve been steadily releasing tracks. We did a few collaborations with another local band, Let Flo Go. Over the last year we’ve been putting out some of the singles off our upcoming album, we’ve seen those getting a lot of hype. And of course now the album

HK: Our first album that is scheduled to release on May 25th.  I think that people can expect something that's fun, energizing, and hopefully relatable.  Our sound is somewhat like a rejuvenation of that which came before, with a more modern swing.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

AC: Well we actually have our debut album “NoBrakesNoBrakesNoBrakes” out May 25th 2022. It is a culmination of songs written as far back as 2018 to songs written May of 2021. We began recording in early 2021 with a few tracks “Lassie” and “Elizabeth”, that we had written fairly early in 2020. Once they were out and received some success both online and in radio play (charting in the Top 50 SubModern Charts), we decided it was time to bring more songs to the table and present it to the world. This album has probably one of our fastest songs and maybe even our slowest one, but they will make you feel something.

And yes, even newer music is being worked on. Destin and I have about 60 originals some of which we’d like to revisit and we’re always writing new stuff.

DC: Yes! We’ve got our debut album “NoBrakesNoBrakesNoBrakes” set to release May 25th! There will be a lot of new music that not a lot of folks have heard. I think fans can expect a lot from this album, right from the opening track we hit the ground running, and we bring a lot of energy throughout the rest of the songs. Anyone that’s heard an exPorter song before will definitely recognize our usual brand of upbeat pop punk, but we’ve tried our best to explore some different genres throughout the album. For instance, there’s some stuff on the album that’s reminiscent of the 60’s surf rock era; on another song we went deep into synths to create a shoegaze inspired ballad. Overall, there’s a lot that’s familiar to us on the album, but there’s definitely a little something new for everyone. Unless you like country. We sorta left out the country vibes on this one. Sorry :P

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

AC: We LOVE playing shows. We just did a car show on a golf course to help out our friend Phat J from our local radio station which was pretty cool. We have also started booking for a little summer tour here in California for in July and August and are open to extending. We also have a few one off shows planned in June starting with a hometown show at one of our favorite venues (SoHo) and others.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

AC: Really we just want to keep growing as a band. I know it sounds cliche but that is something we really work hard at - every next thing should be better than the last. Each song should get better, every sticker should be cooler, every band photo better...every article - no pressure :)

DC: Just keep getting better as a band, When we we're coming out of lockdown and things were opening up, we met and talked about how we wanted to do this professionally. Like should we just write stuff and put it out or would we want to tour and stuff and be a more real band. So we got out on the road and did a bunch of shows in So Cal and we really loved doing it. And I remember thinking after the last show on that little tour, "hey, we're like a band and stuff" and we really should keep doing this.

AC: So we all chatted and said yeah, we're a band so let's start doing more band stuff.

DC: Obviously last year we spent a lot of focus on wrapping up the album but now the immediate future is promote that album - NoBrakesNoBrakesNoBrakes is out now people, you should buy it! - we have some shows lined up for Summer and just keep doing more of that.

AC: Ultimately we'd love to get signed to a label so that we can keep growing.

DC: Yep, growing the band day by day! Start thinking of the next set of songs, bigger shows. I think they should bring back the Warp Tour cause that would be cool to play.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

DC: All of our music can be found on the usual streaming platforms—Spotify, Apple Music, etc. Our website exporter.band also has links to our music and we’ve got some merch for sale on that site as well. T-shirts, beanies, coloring books…y’know, the essentials?

AC: Our music is available everywhere, wherever you do your listening I think exPorter is there for you to stream or buy! You can also buy physical CDs at our web store, https://exporter.band/shop. We are currently updating the web store to have our new merch and album, but that should be all up to date soon when we get them in stock.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

AC: It sounds cliché and all but our music comes from the heart and is all very special to us, I think the biggest thing for me is that I hope it resonates with the listener and will mean something to them, whatever that may be. It’s always pretty sick when someone says they like our songs.

HK: We are real people, this is how we feel, and we want to create connection through our music!

DC: I want listeners to fall in love with our music. Someone listening to an exPorter song for the first time should be able to feel the energy in the airwaves. For as much energy as we put into writing intricate and clever lyrics, I must say what really sticks out about our music is how catchy it is. Both Alec and our producer Elliott have done a great job of working in punchy little guitar riffs throughout every song, and I think it really adds to the dynamic of each one. These really feel like songs I could listen to again and again. And again.

It's been quite sometime since last speaking with rock, metal, electronic outfit band THE ANDROID MEME. Back when we last spoke we talked of an previous track and an album that was suppose to be split up into an EP release. Now that time has passed the band discusses what happened then up until now all below.

1. So it's been 8 years since we last spoke, what has happened with the band since then up until now?

So much has happened in the last 8 years and at the same time not at all enough. I mean that in the sense that we have gone through a rollercoaster ride of emotions such as frustration and sadness trying to finish a handful of songs but the universe seemed very much against.

After our ordeal with the disgraceful label Magna Carta Records, we attempted to make a comeback by recording new songs which included a cover of Peter Gabriel’s “Big Time”. This would have been the perfect track to anchor our relaunch post Magna Carta. However a new and more difficult challenge came about when our Producer/Engineer got caught up in his personal demons and became very hard to track down and work with for more than a week or two at a time before disappearing on us time and time again. This cycle continued for almost 4 years until his tragic passing in April 2018.

2. Back then you had released a new song called "So Vile" that was suppose to be included in an album split into 3 EP releases did any of that come forth?

The song was released very quietly but we were not happy with the mix so we never fully promoted it. Our reasoning at the time was we would finish and release “Big Time” and then go back to remix “So Vile” as well as finish a third song called “Window”.

Unfortunately, when our Producer/Engineer passed away suddenly, we were very sad and dejected and did not immediately make any attempts to have our session files taken to a new producer. The entire experience of that 4 year timespan plus the death had very much broken my will and spirit and we pretty much just dropped everything. I was engaged to be married at the time and working a lot with my day job and it felt like the dream was over and it was time to move on.

3. Aside from that content you do have an all new track out currently titled "Looking Glass", tell me about it?

“Looking Glass” is a culmination of a years worth of dabbling and writing/recording for fun during the on and off again lockdowns here on Canada. It eventually became evident that we had something special that needed to be properly released to the world that so badly needed a song like it. The song is an anthem for those who have spent the last 2 years questioning the authorities and response to the “pandemic”. We have always been a band that delved into controversial and conspiratorial subjects. Covid-19 and the entire coordinated world wide response was extremely fishy from the get go and despite the opinions and shaming of those who questioned how and why it happened we felt we needed to explore the subject which seemed like a prophecy come true for those who understood the message of our album Ordo Ab Chao. So much of what has happened was predicted by that album.

This song took the backdrop of the secret government Black Operation known as Project Looking Glass, which was basically a very secret quantum computing technology mixed with possible reversed-engineered Alien tech that could predict potential future events and outcomes depending on what variables were imputed. Long story short, they discovered that no matter what variables they used, a massive Great Awakening occurred and was inevitable. This being an awakening to how we have been controlled by the powers that be, and that we have the power to overthrow our oppressors and unite together to build a better world.

So we felt it was the perfect track to start our second attempt at a comeback, while expressing a  sense of positivity and inspiration for those with the eyes to see and ears to hear, so to speak. Nothing can stop the awakening, and in this song we are rallying the masses while letting the Elites know their time may soon be up.

4. Will this track become an official video or be included on an upcoming EP or album, or will it remain a solo single?

“Looking Glass”, and all the songs we plan to release over the next year will come together to form an EP. We have released a lyric video for it and will eventually shoot a proper official music video.

5. Do you have any other new music in the works you want to discuss?

We have 3 songs on the go right now that will be released over the next 6 months as singles and then be added to the EP when they are all released. This EP will include bonus tracks. We will be FINALLY releasing “Big Time” this year as well. We are getting access to our session files and that cover song will be released very soon.

Our next release is called “I Love Berlin” . It will be released on June 24th with an epic music video that will be released in several parts like a web series. The song is based on the corrupt geopolitics of the Cold War in the late 80s in Berlin, Germany. Being the hotbed of espionage and ground zero for the Cold War battle of East vs, West, we wanted to capture that from the perspective of a very self aware spy in the middle of all the action.

6. What else does the band have in the works, any other projects?

Other than our EP and music video series, we plan on playing a few local shows over the summer with a possible show at an upcoming Lecture Series Event in Texas for November. I am not allowed to expand on that quite yet.

7. To those unfamiliar with the band can you disclose something unique that no one else knows?

We are secretly interdimensional beings sent to this world to help awaken and egnite the power within everyone to stand up for what is right and just. Or at least that's what we tell ourselves haha.

8. How has the band dealt with covid since its invasion back in 2019/2020?

Covid was the impetus to get us back together as it inspired a self imposed need to join the fight in the information/disinformation that was reaching a climax. The global covid response was rife with so much evidence of collusion and corruption by the establishment to bring about a massive economical hijacking of the middle class with an attempt for a “Great Reset” where we are told by the World Economic Forum that we will “Own nothing and be happy”. When you actually investigate you find its a rebranded form of Communism where we are all equally poor with a basic subsidized income by our governments but lose our rights to medical choice, as well the ability to build wealth or pursue our own lives as we see fit.  We instead hope to help usher in the Great Awakening. :)

This whole massive conspiracy against the people will become mainstream news eventually and millions of people who have been mesmerized by the massive fear mongering and blatant lies of our media and Politicians will wake up and realize they were tricked into being terrified enough to allow for lockdowns and medical injection mandates that have all proven to be ineffective and actually far more risky and dangerous than the virus itself.

We predicted this attempt at total control by the elites in our album Ordo Ab Chao, and now we are predicting that all the lies will be revealed and enough people will come together to overthrow those who perpetuated this massive attempt at enslaving us for “our safety”.

9. Does the band have any plans to do a tour or play any shows in person or online streaming perhaps?

We plan on local shows as I mentioned earlier and we may attempt a Canadian Tour in the fall with an attempt at playing some US shows. This all depends on what happens here in Canada and the US over the next few months. Live streaming shows are definitely going to happen. Stay tuned!

10. What more can we expect to see from The Android Meme for 2022?

Great new songs, an Ep, several music videos and some touring. We are up for the challenge!

SKIDDERS is his own musician. Being at it for sometime now, releasing not one but three album's, the third being released on his Birthday actually! Aside from that other plans at hand is just more writing as well as producing, performing soon as well. See what Skidder's himself had to say about all of this below.

 1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

It consists of just me - Skidders aka Steve Skidmore from the Black Country in the middle of England. The Lord of the Rings "Mordor" was named after the Black Country where industry in the 1800's resulted in black clouds of smoke from furnaces etc.

I started plating drum in the Boys Brigade whilst also learning piano forte. I joined a C&W band playing drums at the age of 24, then went over to lead guitar at 15. Playing in various bands until 28, I did a full apprenticeship across clubs etc.

In more recent years, Skidders has played with the likes of Dexy's Midnight Runners Kevin Rowland and the critically acclaimed duo, Bukechi with Sammi Roberts.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

My name is Steve Skidmore and friends just started calling me "Skidders". As a unique name, I decided to use this for my music.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

I am currently based in Birmingham, UK but will soon be returning to the Coventry area - both in the center of England. Both have fabulous music scenes, Coventry more eclectic which suits Skidders more with his eclectic music. Coventry being the city of the Specials, Skidders has played with their bass player, Horace Panter.

4. How would you describe your style?

My style can probably not be described! Influences include the Shadows, Eric Clapton, Ten Years After, CCR, KT tunstall, Dire Straits, Santana and more. He likes to think he is a rock/blues/jazz musician but his music extends these genres.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

3 albums, plus an album with duo Bukechi. You need to have eclectic, broad music taste to listen to Skidders. The Label Machine recently suggested to enter Skidders' music in Chill playlists. Album 1 was all electric, rock & jazz; album 2 all acoustic, blues, folk etc; album 3 is a total mixture including reggae, rock*, Celtic etc. 'Aunty Bulgaria" was no. 37 in the Hypeddit rock charts.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Album 3 was released only 4th May on my birthday!

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

After previous gigs and shows, currently I am in writing and producing mode, with session guitar work for the likes of Andrew James (from the Cotswold in England) and writer Kylolus.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Bukechi will be performing soon for the Queen's Jubilee in `Stratford Upon Avon. Hoping to collaborate with Andrew James playing 'swing' music soon. Bringing my album onto the road is a possibility at this present time.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Currently, just online.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

I'd like people to listen carefully to my writing and take out of the tracks, as much as much s I have put into them. There are many layers on each track.
