Future Joy Talks of Releases, Shows and More!

Having formed not too long ago FUTURE JOY combines the likes of funk, house, ad bass to their music creativity, releasing an album, handful of EP's, with all new music on the way! The band talks of these matters plus more down below.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

The project began in 2018 with Zach Simms on Saxophones, DJ, and Production but really started to gain momentum when Emily Cooper joined at the end of 2019 on Vocals, DJ, Piano, and Production.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

The band was originally named Like A Kenny G6, but our lawyer advised a rebrand. Future Joy was the name of a song on an early EP and it stuck out us, so we made the name change.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

The project started in Denver, Colorado but now we travel full time in our RV trailer/mobile stage. Denver has a great scene, definitely check out MIDIcinal (we play in his live band), Jessica Jones, Dandu, Maddy O’Neal, Manic Focus, MZG, and Erin Stereo (there’s too many more to name!)

4. How would you describe your style?

Live Electronic Funk/House/Bass.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We have released one album, three EPs, and numerous singles, including collaborations with Vibe Street, Gettoblaster, and more. You can expect a wide range of genres and flavors but always our staple of Saxophones, Vocals, and Vibes.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Always! We are excited about this new piano house track we’re working on called ‘I’ll Be Here For You’. We’re also producing new covers from a wide range of artists like Rage Against the Machine, John Lennon, and The Floozies.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We have been on full time tour since August 2020, living and touring out of our RV trailer which also has a stage off the back for pop up performances. Our upcoming shows are:

April 30 - St. Petersburg, Florida

May 7 - Orlando, Florida

May 15 - Melbourne, Florida

June 11 - Shreveport, Louisiana

June 24-26 - Flagstaff, Arizona

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

We plan to continue touring extensively, creating new music, collaborating with awesome artists, and spreading joy.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Future Joy can be purchased on iTunes, Amazon, www.FutureJoyMusic.com/merch and streamed on Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Amazon Music, YouTube, and SoundCloud.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

We want people to remember that with Future Joy there is something for everyone and that it sounds like fun!

Thanks so much, Zach and Emily (Future Joy)
