Luna Kiss's Discussion About Music is a Success!

GO BIG OR GO GRITTY is the best way that LUNA KISS describes themselves. As time would pass, the band is at work upon releasing a year-long cycle of single's currently, with newer music also out this year as well. They want to get their music out there for all to hear and then play some shows as well. They go into discussion about all of this below.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Luna Kiss are a four-piece rock band from Coventry City, UK formed in 2013. The band consists of Wil Russell – lead vocals, guitar, Chris Butler – guitar, Tom Ogilvie – bass guitar, James Pedley – drums. To date Luna Kiss have released serval EPs however their first album Following Shadows (2018), drew the attention of the likes of Radio 1, Kerrang!, and Planet Rock Radio. Described as ‘broodingly gnarly’ by Classic Rock Magazine, pretty much sums up the band’s sound. Jumping in 2021, Luna Kiss returns with a year-long release cycle of singles. Operate, released in February, has been followed up by Lust For Blood, the latest single.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Back in 2013, we knew what sound we were after, something moody, dark, but a little sexy. Luna Kiss just sounded right.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We’re based in Coventry City, UK… AKA the midlands, landlocked, but fantastic for gigging up and down the country. We have a pretty lean rock scene in Coventry but the fans are passionate. Black Water Fiend are a fantastic local band, well worth checking out.

4. How would you describe your style?

We would describe our sound like an energetic, swagger, and electric punch in the face (in a good way). We like to go big, gritty, and melodic. It’s as if Queens Of The Stone Age, and Muse had a love child.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We’re currently on a year-long cycle of single releases. We dropped Operate in February, and currently working our latest release Lust For Blood. Our latest bout of single are something we’ve worked really hard on throughout the years of the dreaded C word (covid!). You can expect some swag, grit, grind, and anthemic, vibes.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

We’ve got three more tracks coming out this year and we’re currently whittling away at some tunes to follow up this cycle.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

Since being aloud to gig again we’ve been out on the road pretty much every week. We’ve got a short 5 date run in June, and various weekend tours going into 2022.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Our main goal right now is just to put out the music we love to write, tour our hearts out, and carry on meeting new and current fans.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

You can find our music on all streaming platforms. If physical is your thing then online at www.lunakiss.co.uk/officialstore, and if visual is your vibe, we have a load of music videos on YouTube.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

Awesome question. Our songs are about courage, strength, and our abilities to lift ourselves up from the dirt when people have tried to kick us down. Life is a bloody tough thing to navigate, we chose music to help us find a path, so we always hope that our music will help people along with theirs.
