Modernized rockers HOUSE OF NOW has three album's under their belts, with their most recent just coming out titled "Monodrone". A tour is also in the works! The band chats of their music, tour, and other plans ahead.
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
House of now began around 2014 when Brendan (Guitar) and R.J. (Bass)began writing music. From the ashes of multiple different bands came the early stages of House of Now. After a series of member changes the band settled on drummer Nathan Warren. Most recently House of Now has added John Rucks on Rhythm guitar.
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
The name “House of Now” comes from a personal need to make our home in the moment, to take things in and not take anything for granted.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
We’re based out of Atlanta, GA, US. The scene has been a little rough since the pandemic but we would definitely love to give a shout out the the bands O’Brother, Big Jesus and Whores.
4. How would you describe your style?
I would say our style is very influenced by 90s and early 2000s rock with a modern twist.
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
House of Now has released 3 studio albums including Interloper, Light the Second Sun, and Monodrone. Currently we are making plans to promote our current release from 9/16 and are working on putting together a tour as well as some live sessions.
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
Monodrone was just released and we plan to tour and promote that record for a while before starting work on a fourth studio album.
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
Working on putting together a tour but no solid dates yet.
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
We really love what we do and have a great friendship as a band, we’re not 100% sure what the future holds but we know we will keep doing this with each other indefinitely.
9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
You can listen to/buy our music on apple music, Spotify, YouTube and bandcamp.
10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
All that we can hope people will take away from our music is being able to relate to the lyrics in their own way. This band has always been like a form of therapy for us and I’d hope we can provide that to listeners as well.
