Extreme metal band BLOOD OF ANGELS has gone on to release an EP and full-length album, and will be spending next year will be writing and recording an all new follow-up album! No shows are played at this time to focus upon this new album! That is what the band discusses about below.
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Blood of Angels was formed in 2015 by guitarist Aaron Robinson originally as a studio project. The band released a three song EP in 2017 titled “Rise of the Fallen Gods.” After winning awards at the Independent Music Awards, Akademia Awards, and the International Music and Entertainment Awards, members of the band parted ways to move on with other directions of their lives. In 2019 Aaron reached out to long time friend and drummer Jonathan Rushford and Jerry “The Maggot” Bassett. To work with Aaron on new music for Blood of Angels. We were practicing at Randy Reyes home at the time, and we needed a vocalist. Randy wanted to audition. He became the perfect fit. Blood of Angels released “Failure of Faith” in October 2020. Since then, the band continued to tour throughout the United States in support of the album. We will be releasing a new original single on Halloween titled “Spillage” while we work on our next album.
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
Blood of Angels name comes from a rebellion against organized religion. Angels as are used as symbology in most religious movements. The name is a metaphor for the end of the mythology that religion creates by symbolically spilling the Blood of Angels. It is also just a good name for an extreme metal band.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
We are based in Tampa, Florida USA. The music scene has been strong for many years. It is where the subgenre of death metal began. Some of the bands to check out are Svinfylking, Get Out of Nashville, and The Distinguished Order of Disobedience aka (The D.O.O.D)
4. How would you describe your style?
I think the extreme metal label fits us well. I feel we are a blend of mostly thrash and death metal. We also have moments of power, black, and progressive metal elements as well.
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
So far, we have released an EP “Rise of the Falling Gods” and LP “Failure of Faith”. We have also released a metal hip-hop collaboration single with rapper Amiss Omega titled “United Freedom”. We have also released a single of our cover of Black Sabbath’s “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.” That has done well for us. On Halloween, we will be releasing our new original single titled “Spillage.”
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
We will be spending next year writing and recording a new album. We hope to have it ready by next year.
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
Not currently, we just played our last show earlier this week for our album “Failure of Faith.” We will be taking a break from the stage to make the new album.
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
Just writing and recording a new album. Which will be released through our new label Biohazardous Records.
9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
