Devon Sandwich Discusses Material and Next Summer Plans!

Old school fast punks DEVON SANDWICH play it fast but old school with a modern day twist! With that, they released their self-titled album, with a previous older album, and some EPs also out and about. Lots of new demo's of future working's is being worked upon, with shows perhaps planned for the next summer. The band discusses all of this below.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

We started in 2017, its was originally a 4 piece band but now we’re just 3. Avi and Brett met through GumTree and Sazza was a mate of Avi’s so it all came easy after about a year of people joining and quitting.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Its a bit of a staple lunch time meal in Australia when you’re a povo kid.  it was the best option we had on table so we went with Devon Sandwich.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We’re based in Sydney Australia. The music scene is great at times. It’ll get better now no one cares about covid anymore. We got lots of cool bands, The Owen Guns and Jerranis are great.

4. How would you describe your style?

Kind of fast old school punk with modern lyrics.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We got a Self Titled album released a few months ago, its good go listen to it. We also have an older album Dank Meme’s and Violent Dreams and two eps out.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Yeah plenty of demos and voice memos with decent ideas, it’s finding the time outside of work and commitments to get the songs finished and recorded, hopefully we’ll have a new song out early next year. We have a fun one about MGK bleeding the punk scene, I’m hoping that’s the song we finish next.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

Hopefully in the summer if the band can all get together, everyone's busy doing crap at the moment.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Release a lot more music frequently.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff

Bandcamp is best, we’re on all the streaming sites. You can buy merchandise through our bio on Instagram.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

That it’s different, dumb and cool all at once.
