Emo revival/post hardcore band HUSH HUSH started off as a solo project, then would develop into what it would become nowadays. With that, the band would go on to release a debut single called "Gin and Toxic", with also releasing a cover of Avril Lavigne's "I'm With You". More music is in the works, with stuff being released throughout the rest of this year! The band talks about this and much more below.
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Hush Hush started as a solo project created by it's front man Dominick Villa and has been recruiting new members as the project begins to unfold our bass player Patrick McCormick is HUSH HUSH newest member. Dom and pat both share a wide variety of music taste and now have used such tastes to influence the original HUSH HUSH sound!
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
The origin of the name began when writing the single “Gin & Toxic” the project was hush hush to keep it a secret until we released to the public. Then it clicked after we kept saying it and decided that's what we are going to be called!
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
The band is based out of Buffalo, NY our music out here is a very wide spread arrangement of very artistic musicians and talented artist a couple bands we would recommend would be “fernway” and “until I wake”.
4. How would you describe your style?
We describe our style as an emo revival/post hardcore band who dabbles in a modern metal core sound as well. We are a very versatile band with a wide spread of influences.
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
HUSH HUSH entered the public eye with the debut single “Gin & Toxic”, we had also released our rendition of Avril Lavigne “I’m with you” what to expect from our songs is they have a taste of old school post hardcore with a touch of modern swing to it!
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
Yes HUSH HUSH is currently in the studio now and working on new material, HUSH HUSH aims to have more singles released thru out the year 2023!
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
HUSH HUSH will be planning shows and tours in the future but that is to be announced thru out 2023! We have a couple ideas in motion now as we speak.
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
We plan to grow as we start releasing new singles and we hold high hopes for the future of HUSH HUSH as a band! We are here to stay! As a band we hope to accomplish what every band does and see the world and have a good time doing it!
