Alternative pop-rock act TERRY GUY has been actively doing music for sometime now, being an indie singer/songwriter artist, some single's including a debut album have been released. No shows or tours as of yet, but a lot is still taking place with music and much else. Terry Guy himself discusses all of this below.
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
I don’t actually have a band #sadface #violins lol. It’s just me, myself and I, but it’s truly not all doom and gloom. Being a solo artist has, majority of the time, allowed me to make my own creative decisions and I’ve been making music since I was 14. Although I started out producing dance music, I eventually went to college and aspired to be a singer and songwriter, as well as a music producer. I was getting into Rock, Indie and Adult Contemporary music and wanted to explore these genres as a vocalist and recording artist, so during my 20’s I recorded in various studies, released some singles and toured independently. It was in recent years that I finally released my debut album “Cloud Zero In Society,” and directed my own music videos for my music.
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
It’s my birth name. I thought a million and one times during my teenage years of how to change it. But in the end I stuck with the name I was born with. It felt right.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
I’m based in London, UK, and have never performed out of the country but this is something I want to fix very soon. I have toured around the UK but London, without a doubt, still has a sick music scene. I’m still listening to Amir, who is a stupidly talented Pop singer and songwriter, as well as Alt Rock bands such as The Killjoys. I will also be collaborating with an up-and-coming Indie singer called Chan Ranelle so definitely keep a look out for when some of her songs drop very soon.
4. How would you describe your style?
Alternative Pop-Rock, Indie singer/songwriter music artist with the occasional Industrial and Modern Classical influence. My influences are somewhat all over the place, from PJ Harvey to Avril Lavigne, from Martin Grech to Chantal Kreviazuk, from Hole to MIA and the list just goes on. But somehow they all find a way through to my music in some capacity.
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
I have released some singles and a debut album which I’m very proud of called “Cloud Zero In Society.” “Cloud Zero” explored both mine and other peoples’ experiences of British Society, bringing about lyrical narratives of Terrorism, Homophobia, Addiction and Racism, and fused piano Ballads with Indie Rock and Folk music. I’m so proud of it and I would love more to hear it. It is an empathetic record, which I hope reaches out to more people.
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
I do indeed and I’m so excited about it. My second album is almost finished and I’m hoping to release it later this year. The first single from my second album will drop this Summer and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it. The new music is slightly different from what listeners have heard from me before and the portfolio has come about from me completing a Masters in Popular Music. The method of making music on this occasion has derived from the way I usually make music.
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
I have no official dates to announce right now but I am planning to go touring again this Summer and it will be the first time I have performed since late 2020. It’s been way too long, so I’m raring to go.
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
Well, getting a band is a possibility lol. But I’m happy performing solo for now. And this next tour will be the first time in a very long time that I have performed solely on my own as on my last tour from 2019-2020 I performed with a backing band. My future plans at this point in my life is to make music for myself and for others, tour, get into other types of music projects and live my best life.
9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
Pretty much everywhere. Spotify, iTunes, Amazon Music and don’t forget to check out the music videos and lyric videos I have made for my music over the last 5 years. My links are below:

My voice and my words.
