Post-punk/indie alternatives TONIGHT'S HERO began sometime ago, with the members having formed another band, that would later come under the namesake it is now. So far though, they have released some single's along with a full-length album! The band is even working on all new material expected this year in the fall. Just see what else the band had to express about themselves and their music below.
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Tim Nash and Alex Auer met in high school and instantly bonded over their love for pop punk. They formed a band called The Arson Committee and have been playing music together ever since. Following The Arson Committee’s dissolution, they continued writing and recording music together under the name Tonight’s Hero.
After laying dormant for several years, a renewed interest was sparked during the Covid-19 pandemic, resulting in their debut album, Skeleton Tracks, released October 2021.
Tonight’s Hero has followed up Skeleton Tracks with a series of singles, most recently, “Nothing New Under the Sun”, released February 2023.
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
The name “Tonight’s Hero” is a literary allusion and they would like fans to seek out the origins on their own.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
Tonight’s Hero is split between Nashville and Sacramento. Some favorite local artists from Nashville include:

4. How would you describe your style?
Post-punk meets indie alternative.
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

- There’s Something In My Eggnog - Single, 2022
- Nothing New Under the Sun - Single, 2023
You can expect strong melodic songs with prominent notes of nostalgia.
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
Tonight’s Hero is actively working on new material they plan to release in Fall 2023.
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
Tonight’s Hero is refining their songs for a live set to be debuted this summer in Sacramento. More dates to follow.
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
The band is eager to release and promote their follow-up LP.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
Tonight’s Hero hopes to transport you to a place of sunshine and melancholy using sweet melodies juxtaposed with nostalgic lyrics.
